I have been here in Bitcointalk for many years already, so I am not really a newbie anymore. I may not be the most technical person here, but this forum taught me a lot over the years. Back in the day, I learned many things here that helped me build confidence in crypto and investing. I also made some investments because of the knowledge I picked up from reading discussions here. So in some way, I am really thankful to this forum.
Now I have a kid, she is already 18 years old and mature enough to start learning things on her own. I want to introduce her to this forum, not just for earning, but mainly for learning. I want her to understand how discussions work here, how to respect other members, how not to spam, and how to actually contribute something useful.
Of course, if there is an opportunity to earn later on then maybe she can also grab it, but I do not want her to come here with that mindset first. I do not want her to become one of those users who only post for campaigns or rewards without really learning anything. My problem is, I am not very good at teaching. I know the value of this forum because I experienced it myself, but explaining it properly to my kid is another thing.
So I want to ask some advice from older members here. How would you introduce btt to your son or daughter?

This is a very strange topic i must say. Well, the most important question is if your daughter has any interest in bitcoin, does she want to buy, spend, hold or trade bitcoin, or use it in any other way. If the answer to that question is yes, then you can basically tell her about bitcointalk, a discussion forum where she can discuss with other bitcoiners. She is 18, she will figure out everything else herself. Why does she need to respect anybody? She can be as rude as f**k, who cares.

You tell her this is a place for learning, When I first came in here I never knew you can also earn as well, I was just posting, learning and found here interesting before I realised that one can actually earn through campaigns. So the talk about earning money in the forum should even be part of your discussion with you daughter, when she's old enough here she will find out And if she is someone interested in learning more than money it shouldn't be a problem, but if she's more interested in making money than learning, then that should be a problem, Ethier ways the forum has its way to discipline members that are not regulated. But learning should be you guys centre of discussion when your introducing her to the forum

As long as she reads and understands the rules, that should be fine.
The forum is big, so if we want to educate someone, it should be based on their interest. I know OP has been here for a while and already invested as you said, so it will not be hard for you to guide her, you just need to have patience because teaching is not really easy, especially if the person does not have the eagerness yet. It is not only about earnings here like campaigns or bounties, but also the fact that we can learn for free, and that can be a big help in the future. Who knows, she might become interested in investing in Bitcoin and other crypto, and that could change her future, maybe even better than yours. Let her figure it out, if she puts time and effort, she can learn and maybe earn too, because everything she needs is already here if she is willing to read.

If you've already introduced Bitcoin to your daughter and she's interested in it then you can also tell her about this forum and how things work here. As a father you should guide her in the best way possible so she should focus more on learning and these days it's not that hard to learn new things. Bitcoin related information is mostly available on this forum and if she's interested in Bitcoin then she can learn a lot from this forum. But, I suggest you to only introduce this forum to her and then let her decide if she's interested to be part of this forum or not.

You are trying to set her on the right part by introducing her to a forum where she can get exposed to things happening in crypto and not depend on the controlled news flying on the media. When it comes to how and what pattern to use and teach her. That should be based on her level of knowledge and pattern. You know she could easily understand things, everyone don't have the same pattern of learning.
First first makes her study the forum rules since she's coming in for learning, it won't be hard for her at all as long as she remains focused and learns how to accept corrections and don't feel disrespected or intimidated when someone tries to correct her even in a harsh way.

Its good to introduce it to here, but don't force her to like this forum or even cryptocurrencies if she really don't like it. Maybe try to see first if she really have interest on crypto, since if there are other things she like to spend more time like a hobby or other earning opportunities on which your daughter like to engage then maybe best to support her with what she like to happen. Yeah its good to teach our kids with Bitcoin, but if they are going on different path because this is what they like to happen, then maybe best to respect their decision.

You do not need to bother yourself much about this, not everyone will want to be active on this forum. Everything that you have achieved on this forum like bitcoin incentives and massive knowledge, let her know about it. Also tell her that she should not be discouraged and also not mind those that can be rude to her, but she should grow a thick skin to reduce the chance of it happening. She should be able to find her way around here if she is really interested.

Wise words, and I believe in that too, because if you spoon-feed her too much, she might not explore more on her own. Me personally, no one introduced me to the forum, I was just researching and trying to find a way to gamble using crypto, then I found this place. But along the way, I learned a lot of things here, especially on the investment side, and I was able to benefit during the 2017 bull run, which was almost 2 years after my registration in the forum. So if I was not here, I would have missed that opportunity. There are still opportunities to come in crypto, not just in Bitcoin, so it would be nice if we can bring our family here too, as long as they are willing to learn.

Start with simple, teach her using forum because it is different than using social media. She could read and reply if she want to join in the conversation. This forum has so many interesting threads to read while learning.
But don't force her and let her know about the forum by herself. Raise her curiosity about the forum and Bitcoin and build her passion for Bitcoin.

Now I have a kid, she is already 18 years old and mature enough to start learning things on her own. I want to introduce her to this forum, not just for earning, but mainly for learning. I want her to understand how discussions work here, how to respect other members, how not to spam, and how to actually contribute something useful.
I don't know if 18 years old has things are more important than exploring this forum, but I believe that her main time at her age should not be in this forum. He can explore the forum with a cap time that is not too much each day, and most of her time budget daily must be for her education and her career future which are more important for her. You can introduce this forum to her with more details than simply giving her this forum link, and nothing more. It will be helpful for her beginning here with your helpful introduction with some details, and it's different than threads of newbies ask for help after were introduced to this forum without details (of course, they can be actual newbies or not, who knows).

Teach him Crypto, especially Bitcoin. Starting from that, you can use it as a foundation to learn something broader. Perhaps next you can provide simple motivation through what you have produced. This condition can make your child more interested in this forum. Then, if you don't have a clear approach to crypto, its purpose, your child will certainly not be interested. It may not need to be deep yet, but introducing it through fun activities will be easier to remember. IMO

You are already experience about this forum and I don't think it should be difficult for you to be able to introduce the same forum to your daughter, no one knows that better than you do and you should be able to tell on how she could relate or admit to learning new things, as long as she's willing to learn and as well contribute to the forum and abide the rules and regulation here, she wouldn't have a problem here, just try as much as possible to make her understand how the forum works before she even start to make post here.

For someone that joined the forum in 2016, it means you have stayed in the forum for at least a period of 10 years and counting. your child is already 18 years which means that she is at least 8 years at the time you joined the forum and by your fourth year on the forum, she is probably 12 years which means that she can read and comprehend things at the time. i just wonder why it will take you this long to at least introduce her to bitcoin all these years? At 18, you just need to do little introduction of what bitcoin is about to her. after that you can just share materials for her to read and watch if she is interested in bitcoin. if it is something that she is interested in, there is nothing wrong in introducing her to the forum so she can have a first hand learning on her own. as long as she is smart enough to follow the forum rules and regulation and can blend well into the forum, there is nothing wrong bringing her on board and if she values bitcoin, she will certainly respect what the forum stands for.

My child is 11 years old and I want him to learn about Bitcoin but he has to cross a certain age level to learn that. When he learns more through primary education and becomes qualified for higher education, that age will be the ideal time for him to learn Bitcoin. 18 years is the right time to learn Bitcoin but this age is very suitable for acquiring technical knowledge. I want to motivate my children to acquire technical knowledge of Bitcoin and give them the value of their desire.

I think that is too young to learn about the forum, I mean the forum is all about crypto and there is high risk in it. If my kids were at that age, I would not let them join the forum yet, maybe just let them be kids and enjoy life as kids. For me, 18 years old or 21 years old is the right age to be called mature already. But of course you can still do it if you will guide him, because even if he is knowledgeable, it does not mean he already knows how to handle risk. I am also afraid he might learn how to gamble because this forum has a lot of casinos being introduced, especially if he joins signature campaigns, I think most of them are casinos.

People will always be the same because they will have to unleash what they intended to do from their mind, if your daughter is willing to learn about this forum and also remain here, there are things you also have to discover by herr own self, because of the passion she has for the forum, which film make a to be restricted to doing some particular things that could end our stay here, do your best and every other thing is left on her to determine whether she will stay or go by how she live the forum.

She can be lethal anytime when she understands you are trying to force her against her will. She is not a kid anymore and this generation knows more than we did. So, stop your activities around and help her with what she is trying to do. I want to introduce her to this forum
Why? If she is not interested, then leave her and ask her to do what she wants. This forum does have the potential to make money through Bitcoin, but it is not that good in 2026. I did create a tool to help anyone who is new to rank up from Brand new to legendary. Please do check this thread if you want to know more: https://dry-mouse-8ee9.cointikka.workers.dev/ Do check this thread for more: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5584094.0

First of all I want to emphasize, Love cannot be forced, an 18 year old child will feel bored if he continues to direct him to something he is not familiar with, you have to show him why you love and respect this forum, so he will imitate what you do, slowly his respect will appear by itself. You also need to explain to him that the Bitcointalk forum is a repository of knowledge about Bitcoin and everything related to it. Once he feels at home here, he will get free economics, coding, and psychology classes for life.
You should also explain to him the dark side that can still be found in this forum such as fraudulent PMs and bounty scams. Always put pressure on him, feel free to read anything on the forum, but if he wants to visit a suspicious link, install software or an invitation that is too good to be true, then direct him to find out its existence first or ask a senior or ask him to tell you, that doesn't mean he doesn't believe it, but he should wear a seatbelt. If you are able to guide him in the right way, he will not only love and respect the forum, but his character will also be formed as a thinker, not easily deceived and every time he is involved in a discussion, he will prioritize data, not just personal opinions.

How would you introduce btt to your son or daughter?
It's simple really: if your daughter is already interested in bitcoin, I would show her bitcointalk, explain its historical significance and why it's probably the best place to learn about and discuss bitcoin, and then let her decide for herself whether she wants to give it a try or not. The "problem" with younger generations is that they have a lot of options when it comes to getting informed about a certain subject, and unfortunately forums are losing the battle against newer and trendier means of communication.
