I will prefer to  bet just on the latest matches, this is because I do not know what can come up and any team can make mistake at anytime. I can use the few previous matches to make analysis and bet on the latest matches which is the best.

I also do not like parlay, I prefer single matches. But if you want to go for parlay, there are many matches that can be played within a day or 2 days.

I think for each season, what matters isn't the longer or the actual games. What you have to look is the games that are about to happen.
Within a day or less than a day. You don't have to look those games that are still far from happening.
Because news about its players and the team itself could come at the very last minute. So, to roll call with your bet it's better if you bet few minutes before the game.

Just a slow one game bet per day is sufficient to me as a strategy so that I can stay in the game much longer. And then selecting with sports to bet and picking up the winner base on your analysis of the game.

Otherwise if you go and bet a lot during the early stages of the match, and then you experience that losing streak, then perhaps you might need to rest first for several days and maybe just let go and pass that bad luck. But if you take it easy and carefully picking games, and then winning some, then you further stretch your bankroll.

This is a very good reason gamblers should not go for matches that will be long before it will be played, but most bookies will not show more than 2 weeks matches for the common leagues while not show more than 1 week match for other leagues while lower leagues will only be show like two days before it will be played. I even also prefer for the march to start like 5 to 10 minutes before betting on it because my favorite team to win will have higher odd at the time.

I also prefer betting on current games. Some future outcomes could affect the outcomes of future games. Injuries to key players,  suspension, change of coach and so many others could affect the outcome of games. So it is safer to bet on games you are sure of players and others than to place bets in future games.

I might also have the time to analyse different games. Thus I prefer to handle a few games that will be played within the week.

I usually don't like long term games because it gives you much pressure as you will be expecting a positive score line and most times the teams you have staked on will at the end of the day loose and all your hopes are dashed, so literally while staking games I mostly and preferably bet on current games for the day and probably pick two to three games for the next day so I can just get over it than having so much hope on a game that will take days and i will still loose.

Every gambler has a strategy and tactics that works for them so accumulating long term games might not be favorable to other gamblers while some are winning from it, so it's ideal to stick to the strategy that works for you as no one is unique and it depends on how lucky the gambler is to win. I have come across someone that staked over 30games that is to run for a month and unfortunately on the last day he lost the game, you could imagine the depression and anxiety he will feel, so I prefer today's game than a long term game.

If I understood your question correctly, I prefer and bet almost every time on the same day the game takes place, preferably in the last few hours
And I'll go even further, recently I've been betting at the start of the game, or even waiting about 15 minutes after the football match starts to place my bets

My advice is to bet on games or on sports or leagues that you know best. You don't risk money, a considerable amount of money especially, on a sports match that you aren't familiar about. That's a bad way to waste money. Gambling is generally wasting money.

At least give your money some worth by betting on matches, leagues, or sports that you're confident would give a good run for it. That's regardless of whether you're betting on games shortly before they're played or long before they're played.

I have very little experience with long term betting, but I remember seeing the experiences of other bettors who placed long term bets on tournament outcomes, such as favorites advancing from the group stage. In reality, the odds were quite low, and it seemed like those bets were almost certain to win. I remember that some of them placed very large bet, and after a long period of waiting, they still ended up losing.

That is why, in my personal opinion, long term and short term bets have roughly the same chances of winning and losing. As a result, I prefer short term bets because I don't have to wait for a long time only to potentially lose in the end anyway.

Some people preferred to combined both long term games and today game and that's a risky game because some might cut off along the way and some believed that they will have cashout from it, that is why they always prefer to join the both. But, in gambling, nothing is certain and gamblers got to play what will not hurt them later in future and because of this, some people decides to just accumulate weekends games like Saturday and Sunday, so that they won't panic that much and luckily, they might win.

I like the fact that you are asking to know but it doesn't even matter, many people have done both and they have no significant differences, many gamblers still loses money anyways.

This just makes me realize that many gamblers will keep trying to justify their losses on gambling, they will always find something that will make them stay in gambling and comfort them for those losses.

Whereas the fact still stands that gambling is nothing but people trying their luck, barley champions league or world cups it doesn't matter, luck has a major role to play here as always.

There are a lot of factors to consider in this case. For example some people only place bets when they are very sure they are going to watch the match. Some only place the bet just before the match because of how fast everything eventually gets concluded and long bets may look slow and inconvenient to them.

On the other hand, combo bets are kinda risky in some cases. The more odds you try to sum up the higher the losing chances since every single one has to be won.
