Because today's kids are burger kids, haha. The truth is that the kids of today are entirely different from the kids we grew up knowing and it's due to so many factors ranging from improved technologies and modernization which also affects their development due to modified feeding habits and nutritionally inclined childhood regulations. There are several kids under 15 nowadays that look way bigger than people of 20 years or even more and this fast growth indirectly affects their development both mentally and otherwise.

Several kids have broken into the space early enough with exceptional wisdom than we can understand. Teaching these set of kids about bitcoin is not going to be as difficult as before because they start handling gadgets earlier in life even before 10 years of age. Most of them as fast learners too. Children need focus. Being exposed to the Internet as we see it today is not even a good thing, even though the generation of parents we have now make it seem normal.

Exposing children to Bitcoin at a young age isn't supposed to be a big deal. I am of the opinion that children should not be taught Bitcoin so aggressively at that age that their major interest becomes how to make money from it. They can learn the basics of Bitcoin and other age-appropriate subjects on Bitcoin while also focusing on their academic studies.

As it concerns investment, parents can invest in Bitcoin on behalf of their children. When the children come of age and the parents are convinced that the child is ready to control the keys by himself, they can then hand over ownership to the child.

Common... there should be more to being smart than just knowing how to use the internet.
And just because certain people were never born in this generation, doesn't mean that they would have struggled. Things are literally getting better in terms of how we access vast information and get exposure. How many children of this generation would comfortably sit down to flip through thousands of pages just because they're searching for something?. And mind you, despite the access to internet and vast information, you still see people of this generation acting funny.

Just as Charles-Tim said, a 15-year-old is not a child. Someone at such an age should be in senior secondary school or, in some cases, in tertiary institutions. You are wrong mate, rather there have been various experimental and statistics done to find out there have been a very huge decline in IQ, reasoning and general knowledge. Kids age 5 and above can learn about financial literacy. It is important to start to each them early. And if they can be taught about financial literacy bitcoin as a financial freedom asset should also be included but not immediately. I believe it will be difficult to understand why Bitcoin is important and a great Asset.  It will be WAY easier for them to use the Software side of it and to understand the technical details but Bitcoin is growing and being adopted while Banks are adapting to the times too, making things easier, smoother, more pleasant digitally.  While we were growing with Gold and Fiat, children these days are growing with Bitcoin and Fiat.  It may in fact be even more tempting for them to get buried in debt directly from their own Smart phone.

The idea has never been if the children will be able to learn the basics of bitcoin if taught, the idea is the risk of introducing them to a risky asset when they are not upto the age of making financial decisions for themselves. Remember that bitcoin trading and investment is risky for adults already and even some adults are not advised to involve in Bitcoin. This might not mean much to you, but I know people who are unwilling about bitcoin because it is volatile. So many people prioritise their peace of mind over making money, and that is why they invest in non volatile assets.

A child being able to operate gadgets doesn't mean that they now posses a good sense of judgement. A child can easily be addicted and a child who doesn't work might not know how difficult it is to earn money. They could just gamble their school fees.
No matter how fast children learn these days, I am still of the opinion that bitcoin investment should be taught a child only when they start earning or are in higher education.
