If you hold strongly to a belief that isn't true and have made up your mind never to compromise on that belief, it means you have become hardened.
This is a very risky mindset because that belief has become your form of defense from attacks, but it's not impenetrable. Truth can penetrate it, and once it's penetrated you may lose your life.

Cannot agree more!   Three philosophers were alive during the time of Jesus, including one in the same area.  Not one of them wrote about any miracles or even mentioned him at all.   Only one non-witness ever wrote about him some several decades later, and three others took that guy's heresy and wrote their own versions.

So we have climate change, religion, moon landing and many other conspiracies that can all be squashed by logic.  The problem to me is obviously the brainwashing.  People who chant the same words over a period of years will not be swayed by any evidence you can show them.   A subconscious part of them is too embarrassed to admit they are in a cult and will override any sincere attempt to change.    Even the word cult offends many who can logically understand that they are in one.  And these cults do kill people - like the nut job who wanted to find out "once and for all" if we landed on the moon, and he died.   People say an explosion but I say mental illness to believe your word will override decades of history.

And that explains humanity for you. That we both neighbors doesn’t mean you know much about me. You can as well don’t want to be involved in my affairs. That doesn’t define my existence. Yet someone who isn’t as close to me might be more close to me that you are as a neighbor. It’s about your belief system and that the philosophers during the time of Jesus choose not to write about him. Doesn’t mean that Jesus didn’t exist. Like I said they probably didn’t believe in him. Many doubted Jesus even after seeing him and still went on to ask if they should expect another messiah. Paul the apostle wasn’t there during the time of the disciples with Jesus. But yet he wrote 70-80 percent of the New Testament. It’s just so unfortunate that most has turn Christianity in to religion practice. This wasn’t the purpose of Christian.

This reads as comments that belief in religious faith doesn't lead to knowledge.  Faith can not be an incorrect belief. Faith is as a seed, when planted it will grow. Many ideas or beliefs can be planted without growth. Those are not good seeds therefore are not Faith. Faith grows into knowledge, and Knowledge is power.  You have to have your own knowledge to be wise. Wisdom in all things comes from religious traditions which create righteousness that doesn't bring Gods judgements. When corruption and tyranny offend God, the blood of the innocents cry out for justice. Jesus Christ shed his blood as an innocent while forgiving those who took it. He lives to this day and his blood can clean and purify all who have Faith in him.  Faith in the Christ is a sure way to knowledge, and all are invited to plant said seed.

Healthy skepticism should apply to our own beliefs as much as it applies to everyone else’s. If we can’t question what we already believe, then we are no longer searching for the truth, we’re just defending a position.

Truth shouldn’t be afraid of scrutiny. If an idea is true, it will survive honesty questions but if it isn, clinging to it only makes the eventual correction painful.

Religion is a very deadly virus that when it eats up a man. He doesn’t accept the truth even when they know it’s the truth. They are just so blindfolded. Yes what you believe is what works for you. That’s doesn’t mean you must be religious about your belief.
