If youre a conservative or low risk apetite guy, dont ever trade altcoins cause that segment is highly volatile. Even a utility coin can do some bad movement especially the market is in shambles. Also its not advisable to any beginner to do so cause of that speciific reason lone. Yeah with bitcoin going down badly right now, for others this is a good opportunity. At $60k imagine the price of it last year and almost at bargain price.

If you want to be a good trader, you must not select pair based on if that is Altcoin or Bitcoin. For me, it depends on 1. market cap, 2. trading volume.
There are some altcoins everyday that has enough trading volume, so it's fine, while Bitcoin is always have good enough trading volume but it's not always good to trade, so it will also apply your analysis or style how to trade.

Trading as a beginner is full with a lot of challenges but as long as you keep up and don’t give up, you’ll certainly find success even though it is gradually. The market is very much volatile and needs you to be very careful when taken decisions to enter a trade. Trading is a very risky and profitable venture, but if you don’t have the right knowledge to be profitable in it, you’ll find it really hard to progress in it. My trading journey was not as good as my investment journey. I have given a lot of time to trading, while investing for the long term is more passive, so I had time for trading and faced a lot of losses. I made money but then lost it in another trade. I was not consistent and, to be very frank, my mistake was that I did not know where I had to stop and what I wanted.

Because when we are trading or investing, or whatever investment journey we are following, we need to know what our capital is and what risk we are taking for how much profit. If we are making $200 profit out of $500 investment, that means we are doing good, but until you realize that, you will always want to make 2x. Just 2 things:

• Don't use leverage more than 10x, more than that you are not trading, but gambling;
• Don't make positions that go against the trend on longer time frames, most traders think getting a bottom or top is a jackpot but they ignore how big the chance of getting it is.

10x leverage for the absolute majority of altcoins is gambling. even 7x is. that stuff is way too volatile for that.

5x is absolute maximum i would recommend for altcoins although i think the market overall is crazier than ever now and i usually stick with just 2x for altcoins and maybe 5x for BTC

Basically, there will not be much difference and the outcome is often the same when trading Bitcoin with high leverage. Therefore, newbies and those with a low risk tolerance should avoid trading altcoin and using leverage, whether it is Bitcoin.

From where have you learned that trading is easy? I don't think so. You already mentioned yourself as a beginner; then how have you been thinking about future trading? Even though I have been here for a long time, I never thought about future trading. So just forget about the future trading and focus on the spot trading so your funds are at least not going to zero, but don't choose a shitcoin.

It's true we can make money from the trading, but it's not so easy as you are thinking. My favorite trading is spot trading; if you're holding down, then you can wait for a pump again. In future trading your funds would be liquidated and become a zero balance. It's kind of gambling, unlike spot trading.
