Trading seems easy to make money if you're good at it, but if you're not, you'll inevitably incur significant losses. As a beginner, I sometimes experience losses and profits. In this topic, I'd like to hear about your trading experiences, whether you've always lost or not. In your opinion, the best and most consistently profitable trading is in the futures or spot markets. I'd also like to hear your advice on which altcoins to trade in, or whether it's safer to trade in BTC. Everyone's experience is certainly different.
It's easy to lose, hard to consistently profit, that's the reality of trading. The reason most novice traders lose money in their first year is because they think trading is easy, even though on paper, if they are not skilled, they will experience significant losses. The reason they lose is not because they are stupid, but because they are unable to control their emotions (FOMO when the value goes up and Panic when the value goes down). Trading is not a shortcut to overnight riches, so always avoid Leverage. If you make a profit at some times and lose at other times, that's still normal, but if you've made a profit 3 times and feel like you're smart and then go all-in, that's very dangerous.
Regarding Bitcoin or Altcoin, it depends on your goals. If you want to be safe and not feel anxious, Bitcoin is a good choice because its volatility is smaller than altcoins, even if you hold it for more than 5 months, its value will not go to "0". However, if you want a challenge and the potential to earn big profits, you can try Altcoins on Spot. But it should be noted, Altcoin is a double-edged sword, it can go up 10x in 1 month and it can also go down -90% in a short time.
So, my advice (based on personal experience), start from Spot (Bitcoin or top Altcoins, learn to read charts, psychology, risk management. Forget about Futures until you have been consistently profitable for several months on the spot. It's okay to choose Altcoins (other than top coins), but you must be willing to bear the risk if all your funds are lost.
