One of the most useful developments over the past week has been external feedback.
After discussions on Reddit and X, a recurring theme emerged:
The challenge is not rewarding nodes.
The challenge is rewarding useful network contribution without creating Sybil incentives.
Several interesting perspectives were raised:
• Bitcoin may already have the cleanest equilibrium by not directly rewarding full nodes.
• Incentive systems tend to become optimization targets.
• Identity-based solutions often introduce centralization concerns.
• Alternative approaches such as reducing validation costs may be more effective than introducing new reward layers.
This feedback has helped refine the central research question behind Chipcoin:
Can independent verification be incentivized without compromising decentralization?
