Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Too early to conclude that Ebay is actually permitting the sale of crypto, including the BTC. Just 2 months ago, a number of users were banned from Ebay for trading Bitcoins. Also, Bitcoin is a serious competitor to Ebay's subsidiary Paypal.

Way too early to draw conclusions..but - potentially this could be huge news.  Especially if they change the way they handle chargeback disputes in the crypto category.  If ebay/paypal were to start using the blockchain to verify that transactions took place, that would be a "game changer" I think.   Since it would be the best answer yet to the newbies "where do I get bitcoin" question.
