I know it's not illegal or prohibited on the forum to buy accounts or offer to buy them, but since they used a terrible technique to try to convince me to sell my account, I suspect nothing good or honest could come from there. I could be wrong, but just in case, I'm leaving this here so you're all on alert!

Some adopt the strategy of talking down on the product to get a better deal. That's a polite way of saying your account will be worth nothing in a bit, sell it now while you can.

Is there enough evidence here to decide the user is actually an account buyer? I'm assuming the quote to be from a private message which we cannot confirm. I don't know the reputation of either of them, but I usually lean towards getting actual confirmation before tagging a user.

You know what's weird, nobody ever made me an offer to buy my account. Even in 2016 when I dumbly attempted to sell it.

I did get one offer from a guy named "accountseller" or something like that, but it was shamefully bad. Selling it woulda been one of the biggest mistakes of my life as that money would have been gone within a week.

Upgrade00. It's a private message I hadn't seen and read today. I assume it was from the day I applied for a loan, and the user used my need as an incentive to try to buy my account. I don't really know why or what their intentions were, but their behavior seemed suspicious, as they're undermining my reputation because I need money.

It's possible that a member or admin could review my DMs and confirm; if so, I authorize them to read it!

There's no need for mcdouglasx to be highly reputable for us to believe him or to have to check in his inbox to be sure he is not making this up.
Why would mcdouglasx create fake PM contents to witchhunt a Jr Member account that has only 2 merits and last made a forum post on October 26, 2025?
He had quite a rough patch recently, and he is currently in a sig campaign. He doesn't seem to be the person who loves drama. I don't see any ill motive at all, so I believe him.

@kamblepatry09, do you actually need to buy an account whose reputation is seriously failing according to you in order to promote your legal services. What an irony!

Incase you by chance have a genuine services you want to render, you don't need a higher rank account. You will need to build your reputation from scratch. You can start by buying a copper membership deal and then sincerely follow the forum rules.

You could report it as an unsolicited offer. It may not amount to anything, but on the other hand it my lead to a temporary ban. At least he'll think twice about sending such PM in the future.

I think many of us are glad you didn't sell your account. Not that it would have prevented you from coming back under another pseudonym to provide the same brand of sage advice, wisdom, and guidance, but "Uncle Nutidah" just has a special kind of ring to it.

Even during that period there were many who viewed it as a business model to farm and sell accounts, as it took around two years to reach a legendary rank. As the price of BTC started to rise, scams naturally increased and most of the account sellers turned into crusaders, which is a net positive for the forum.

Look at his post history. This is an ordinary bounty hunter writing from his 10 or 20 alternative accounts. He knew exactly what he was doing and was probably sending PM to many who needed a loan (probably not from this account), and the tag left to him would only add his account to the trash, which is full of such junk.

Whoever sent him the merit in the contest is probably also his account, which is banned, like many other accounts that are associated with him.
I don't think there is any legal service here, most likely it is a search for a person who would despair and possibly make a mistake and hurriedly sell his account, which will later participate in the signature of the companies.

I had a situation where I received a PM from a Legendary member saying he wanted to sell me his account and he claimed that I had contacted him via Telegram about it. Of course, that was not true and I did as you did and made it public - and luckily the doubts that I had something about it were at least partially removed when one of the global mods confirmed at my request that the PM I posted was authentic.

My opinion is that you don't need that kind of help - because the fact that someone wants to buy your account is not your problem, but theirs.

Otherwise, I noticed you have a loan history. They want to purchase your account, create some more loan history and then finally exit scamming. At least they aren't asking to purchase your account with a good intention. However, since PM isn't verifiable by me, I am not tagging based on this thread right now. Rather, you may report to the moderator for unsolicited PMs, and admins would take action for that, although account selling isn't prohibited here.

Scraping the forum is a right protected by law, similar to videotaping in public. I'd be shocked if there wasn't a copy of all the forum posts out there that scammers run an AI tool on to find marks.

Maybe the OP wrote something that triggered AI activity on a certain question?
