I discovered something new to me, I made a search and could not see where it was discussed. I know that bumping of thread had always been done by typing in the thread. In most cases you type “bump”.
But I discovered today that there is a bump text/ button in the service announcement thread.

I clicked the button and I was asked if I am really sure I wanted to bump, I had to continue even if I never wanted to bump the thread. I just wanted to know how it works. And I was surprised the thread was taken up without typing on it.
I tried to bump for a second time and discovered that the button disappeared, which I guess might re-appear after 24 hrs.

When was this implemented and what happens when someone that bumped using the button, decides to manually bump the thread again by typing, trying to abuse or break the rule.

~snip
It's not a new button it's basically always been there the only thing is that not all boards have it actually I believe it was put in boards that are usually having the need for the ops to constantly bump the threads. I haven't used it very much so I can't really tell alot about it you can read through the thread sticky bomb shared.

I think there's some sort of limit to how many times you can use the bump button within a given period of time you can hit it and it won't even bump at all.

The old ways before the bump button was introduced with its individual bumping score or power, to the best of my knowledge, if you manually type it and submit it while the last bump is not up to 24 hrs, it might be considered spam and deleted by the moderator when someone notices it and makes a report.

I've not noticed this button just knowing it now and there are many users like me who will not know about it too aside from those that constantly has use for it in their thread

I like to know if the thread you bumped was an op thread of yours or it is a button that is appears to all users that open the thread.

For you not to have been allowed to bump it again the second time in a short period that mean the feature has been programmed to prevent the abuse of the button.

I think this can be of help https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5183553.0. It was created to reduce spammy bump on those sections.
Thanks for the link. I have read through and it really did explain many things. I am even surprised that it wasn't a new feature as I thought. It had existed since 2019.

However, I did not get answer to the question of the punishment of users who try to bump the same thread manually after exhausting their bumping power.

If deleted, the thread bump doesn't get reversed right. You know it has already been bumped. I believe there should be stricter rule than mere deletion.

It wasn't my thread. It is NotATether's thread of his BitMixList project.

Yes, it was obviously designed to prevent abuse but I think there is still a loophole which I am asking the punishment.

I think that the link tendered by Sticky Bomb have answered your question and expatiate more for you to understand what you asked, from my perspective I think the solution to your question have been achieved and I advice you to lock the thread if you're satisfied with what you see theymos educating thread of bump.

It's because it can only be seen on very specific boards, usually not so popular boards, except the service announcement board the rest is on the altcoins/tokens relate boards. I can't even remember using it even for once lol

However, I did not get answer to the question of the punishment of users who try to bump the same thread manually after exhausting their bumping power.
I guess, it's not possible or you can't bump more if you don't have enough bumping power, thus abusing it is not possible
