Why do gamblers blame casinos when they lose, but praise “luck” when they win?

It feels like we only accept the reality of winning, but we don’t want to accept the reality of losing. We are happy to call it luck when the result is in our favor, but when the result goes against us, suddenly we look for someone or something to blame.

I think this is one of the common mistakes gamblers make. Instead of accepting that gambling always has risk, we sometimes make excuses just to feel better about the loss.

Who among you here also started with that kind of thinking? Did you also blame the casino before when you lost, but later learned to accept that losing is really part of gambling?

Casinos should never be blamed for the loss of a gambler because no one was forced to gamble. But if the casino pulls some shady act or is cheating, of course the casino should be blamed for the loss and taken to court. It's not always an act of irresponsibility that a gambler blames his loss on a casino when it happens. It's usually caused by the harsh reality of loss which emanates from the fact that regardless of the fact that every gambler knows that loss is still part of the game, it's usually deficult to come to terms with that fact.

Of course, almost no one wants to admit their mistakes, but it's important to do so because we need to be smarter and understand that we alone are responsible for the bets we make, after all, no one else is pressing "place a bet" for us. I long ago learned to understand that I have to take the fall if I lose a bet, but I also need to do so without going overboard, because even one bet can cause a loss and throw you off track, followed by insomnia and depression. You need to play responsibly and adequately consider the risks; then the fall will be smoother.
