I am a student but besides my studies I have tuition and I also help my father in his business. I have been trying to buy Bitcoin continuously for several months. Since I do not have to buy anything for myself with my tuition money, I try to buy Bitcoin with most of my tuition money, but now that the market has gone down a bit, I am thinking of something a little different. Several cows have been sold from my father's cattle farm this year and my father has a good amount of money at the moment. I have thought that if the Bitcoin market falls below $50,000 or a little below that, I will buy Bitcoin with some of the money from selling my father's cows and hold it for a long time. Looking at the market chart, I have understood that there have been several changes in the market before and those who bought Bitcoin during those changes have made good profits later. I have already had some discussions with my father about Bitcoin and investing, and after getting the green signal from him, I am feeling more confident about investing this way. Hopefully, this new investment experience will be good for me.

You have two choices: - Drop your cash on the current $62k price. You'll definitely not regret this choice after 5-10 years. You'll not ever tell to yourself 'why I didn't buy when it went a little lower'. Someone who bought bitcoin at $500 and held, did not regret for 'not buying in $400'.
- Take a risk and wait for $40-50k for more satoshis. I wouldn't be greedy. The current price is a gift to you already. Understand that the risk is that it might go back to $80-90-100k before it goes to $40-50k, if it ever goes back again.

What you’ve done is the best choice, and I think you’ve explained Bitcoin very well, covering its potential and the benefits of starting to invest now. However, i’d like to offer a bit of advice, while you’re highlighting the potential returns you might present to your father, you should also make it clear that no investment is risk free, including Bitcoin, so his expectations aren’t too high and he fully understands the potential for loss. The rest might involve more in-depth guidance on holding Bitcoin for the long term, don’t raise hopes of making a profit in just a few months, even though this is very possible if Bitcoin has hit bottom in this cycle, but there’s no certainty about the timing.

If I understood this correctly, you want to use your father's money which he earned from the cows he sold to invest in bitcoin. If that is true, did your father know about it?
Using your tuition fee to invest in bitcoin is highly an irresponsible decision.
Also if your father did not know about your plan with his cows money, that is highly irresponsible.

Explain to you father that the money will be invested for a long period of time before you do that and if he agrees with you, you can carry on with your plan. I don't understand you when you mean tuition fee because it's wrong for you to buy bitcoin with your tuition because you are to only invest with your discretionary income.

Am a bit confused about your statement, because, Tuition money or fees based on my knowledge is the money student pays the school, college for studies section. So, my first question is how are you using that money to invest in bitcoin? Are you schooling for free? Explain more I want to understand that aspect. After that buying bitcoin time to time to accumulate more is called DCA, which is the best method to accumulate a good amount of bitcoin to hold for a long period of time. Investing in the dip is also good, but thinking bitcoin will drop down to $50,000 is somehow not possible, although is can happen, But you don’t have to wait for that. A wise man always said the best time to invest is now, not later or tomorrow. And you have to know that you always invest what you can afford to lose, which the money in question doesn’t directly belong to you, but your father’s business, so you have to assess it, if the business won’t be affected before investing, as long time investment is around 5-10 years, so return will not come that quick. Most important invest wisely.

It's hard to give advice but if you can go for it then do it, it will be rewarding. You may want to verify how urgent you're going to be needing the 50 grand, If not urgent then it's better in Bitcoin investment instead of keeping it as fiat in a bank.
Try having some backup/emergency funds you can always use for any emergency situations. Don't chase BuyDip with all your entire money, keeping a small portion in bank is also appropriate. Just do it right, I believe you know much already since you've been buying for a while.
Good luck!

There is a third choice as well which can somehow tackle FOMO as well. Why not set a target for ends (as per your predictions). Lets say, you wait and if the price move beyond $65K you will buy or if it breaks below 55k you will buy. It will satisfy your urge of speculation as well for some extent As BHC rightly said it does not matter when you buy as long as you are holding it for long term but sometimes these tricks make us more comfortable with the buying decisions.

My personal advice is. Do not purchase a large amount worth of Bitcoin if you are not mentally prepared for the market waves. Because when you are at the beginning and you know you put a lot of money in it, you are going to be tempted to check it 24 out of 7 and feel stressed out every time the chart moves more than usual.
We who held Bitcoin for a long time can tell you it has not disappointed any of us so far. Even at the current price, lower than half of what the All Time High was. I know for my self that it is going to go higher eventually. Buy Bitcoin with as much as you can afford to lose and actually pretend it is all gone.
And most important of all. Make sure that Bitcoin stash you are about to hold will be SECURE.

Same story was posted before, I just can't figure out when was that. But I don't see any wrong with your bitcoin investment plan, just make sure to invest an amount that you are comfortable to lose, even if you mean to invest for long term.
The possibility for bitcoin price to drop $50k and below is high, so setting it as your target to start buying bitcoin could be a good market point entry. However, you can also consider DCAing at the current price without having to wait when will bitcoin price will drop and reach $50k. That way, if price recovers after couple of days or months, at least you are already seeing profits, but if it goes down even more, then that's already your chance to maximize buying bitcoin.

So, my first question is how are you using that money to invest in bitcoin? Are you schooling for free? Explain more I want to understand that aspect. The answer to your first question is that even though I am taking tuition, my family is bearing the entire cost of my education. That is, my father basically takes all the expenses of my education from the farm he has and other sources of income and I am taking tuition so that I can earn something and the joy of earning money myself cannot be expressed in words. After that buying bitcoin time to time to accumulate more is called DCA, which is the best method to accumulate a good amount of bitcoin to hold for a long period of time. I mentioned this in my post that I have been trying to invest consistently for a few months, that is, whether the price of Bitcoin has increased or decreased in these few months, I have tried to maintain the continuity of my purchases. I will continue to invest consistently in the future as well, but the plan I have made is a little different, because the market is coming down and if the market reaches the position I have targeted, then it is a big opportunity for me and I want to use that opportunity.

There have been a fair few threads about this sort of approach in the OP - namely about setting a target which is like trying to time the bottom of the market.
As others have said just buy now, the market may not actually drop to $50k. Its easy to think it might after the drop from $75k. Asm yourself the question, were you thinking this way two weeks ago when there was no sign of the market dropping as it did?
The OP says himself that he was already buying so take advantage of the discount on offer now!

Well, you have a great plan. As long as bitcoin price recovers from every dip, then rest assured that your investment will pay off. But be honest with your father that profitability with bitcoin does not happen in an instant, it could take 5-10 years from the time you bought it if you aim to make a good income. He might be thinking that once the price surges high, profits are already there, at least it should be clear that case to him.
Also, invest in what you can afford to lose. I know you're aware of this already, but buying in dips does not mean you have to spend a huge amount to maximize your purchase. It still depends on how much you are willing to lose if ever.

Volatility is a blessing in disguise to a Bitcoin investor, because when the price of Bitcoin drops it is unpredictable and when it rises, of which it must, it is a blessing and that means double profit for the investor who invested at the right time it occurs to them instead of trying to time the market before investing. Due to the volatile nature of Bitcoin and the certainty of profit from long term investment, the driving force behind this is patience and discipline and application of proper risk management knowledge to full effect, inorder not to lose your investment to security breaches, wrench attacks or scams and FOMO. Buy now instead of thinking so much about it and do much to secure it and resist the urge to refrain or callback the investment because it was with funds you weren't supposed to invest with.

The green signal that you have gotten from your father is it to invest with his money? Make sure you don't invest with the amount that your father can't let go of for a while in Bitcoin investment because he is running a business in cattle rearing and he needs money for turnover for the buying and selling of cows.
I want you to remove the idea of buying Bitcoin continuously if you don't want to ruin your father's business. You can talk to your father to give you some money to invest in Bitcoin, not to think of making use of his money to invest in Bitcoin always because you think of it to give long term profits. Things are not done that way

I would like to do both things: Don't sell my bitcoins at cheap prices like $62k, not even lower prices because $62k is cheap exit in my opinion. It does not worth to exit at $62k because I know that I will very regret about such exit, if I do it, in the future years. Try to accumulate more bitcoins in this bear market, but I don't wait for too lower prices like $40k or $50k because we never can know where is a bottom price, and if we speculate the market, wait for lowest price for purchasing bitcoin, we will waste many opportunities and time. DCA Bitcoin during the bear market in coming months and in the future will be my favorite strategy.

I have been trying to buy Bitcoin continuously for several months.
What's stopping you from realizing your plans? With money, this is now a task that can be accomplished in a matter of minutes. I have thought that if the Bitcoin market falls below $50,000 or a little below that, I will buy Bitcoin with some of the money from selling my father's cows and hold it for a long time.
Why wait for the market to drop to $ 50k.? What if the market doesn't fall that much, then you'll abandon your plan and potentially miss out on one of the best opportunities of your life? You can start buying bitcoin right now using the DCA strategy (purchasing bitcoin with a portion of your allocated funds at regular intervals, for example, once a week). Looking at the market chart, I have understood that there have been several changes in the market before and those who bought Bitcoin during those changes have made good profits later.
These market fluctuations have not only resulted in good profits, but also some very unpleasant losses. It's important to be cautious when investing. I have already had some discussions with my father about Bitcoin and investing, and after getting the green signal from him, I am feeling more confident about investing this way. Hopefully, this new investment experience will be good for me.
If you've received your father's blessing to invest in bitcoin, then what are you waiting for? Our approval? Go for it, bro. Whatever happens, remember, negative experiences are still experiences.

Buying at low is always good, the number one rule to make money in the market that most people hardly follow. The other thing you need to know is the price might be consolidating for a while, be sure to use the money that you don't really need in the short term. I personally prefer DCA strategy to prevent myself from having a floating loss and not be able to do anything, however if you like to do your own strategy, it's up to you.

The answer to your first question is that even though I am taking tuition, my family is bearing the entire cost of my education. That is, my father basically takes all the expenses of my education from the farm he has and other sources of income and I am taking tuition so that I can earn something and the joy of earning money myself cannot be expressed in words. You still didn’t answer my question, because if your father pays all your tuition from his own pocket, then where did you get another tuition money that you are using to invest? I hope is not what am thinking, are you still taking loans for tuition using it to buy bitcoin? Because you didn’t mention that you have any job or business, you just said tuition money. So I still want you to explain where the money is coming from.
Since you are already using DCA to accumulate bitcoin, waiting for the dip till $50k is not bad, but the main concern is that we all are not guaranteed that bitcoin will go down to $50k. So the best is to continue using DCA to accumulate more, and if possible keep your own money just for that dip that you are predicting, not convincing you father to take out from his business to buy in dip, as bitcoin is a long term investment not a quick profit scheme.

If your father does not approve or you do not own that money, it is better not to invest in Bitcoin. Your investment will be long-term (3-7 years), and your father may not understand the need to wait all this time. Then you may have to sell next October or December, and then the price may be lower than the current price.
