I mean the protocol, not the token since I used to think nit was in the same league with Ethereum. What is surprising is that the founder is still as active as you can be and seems he could do nothing to see the project take its place.
Hoskinson said he expects additional project closures across the Cardano ecosystem after efforts to provide greater financial support to struggling ventures failed to gain sufficient backing.
“This is where we’re at as an ecosystem,” Hoskinson said.
“I said at the beginning of the year we were going to see a lot of people collapse because the markets are really bad.”

Which other protocol does this Cardano underperformance remind you of?
I reckon you meant the word "chain" or "network" instead of "protocol"?
Well, yep, its been live for many years and it's still a ghost chain, less active than barely surviving L1s and L2s.
What it reminds me of? Any chain that used to be in top-10 and then went into oblivion: NEO, NEM, Stratis, EOS, Tezos, Polkadot. There were more and there will be more.
