It's not just a matter of the OS someone uses, but also the way we think - my opinion today is that any wallet that has direct access to the internet cannot be considered secure, regardless of whether it's a hot desktop or hardware wallet. The seed should be generated strictly offline on an air-gapped device and never be able to be exposed online.
