For the first time in history, Africa has 10 teams at the FIFA World Cup out of the 48 slots, giving the continent a higher chance of bringing the title home. The teams representing Africa are
Morocco,
Senegal,
Egypt,
Ghana,
Algeria,
Tunisia,

Cape Verde,
South Africa,
DR Congo.

It’s the first time this has happened simply because they’ve expanded the field. Otherwise, it would have been the usual five teams. In any case, the team with the best chance is obviously Morocco, thanks to the quality and consistency of their investment and the players’ performance. Of course, anyone can have an off day, but they already showed in the last World Cup that they have both skill and solidity.
We’ll see how it all turns out, but until Africa produces more Drogba or Eto’o, I think it’ll be tough for an African national team to win the title; and if they keep supplying players to the French national team, the others will win.

Looking at the list of the 10 African teams that qualified, I think the first three teams in your list are the ones with the potential to fly the African flag till at least the quarter finals of this year's FIFA World Cup. Morocco has a decent team with World Class players and a certain Achraf Hakimi who's currently the continent's best player. Senegal is also studded with star players like Sadio Mane, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ismaila Sarr and former FIFA Golden Glove winner Édouard Mendy. And for Egypt, they have a decent squad as well which comprises of star players like Liverpool legend Mohammed Salah and Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush.
Any team apart from the three teams I mentioned that made it to the quarter finals will definitely be seen as the dark horse of the tournament.

You can also include that Morocco won the African Cup of Nations, although we all know that Senegal won it, but given to Morocco. No Africa country has won the world cup before, if no African country won it this time, it will not be a surprise at all.

I agree with you that Morocco has the highest odds of winning among African teams, which doesn't mean I actually attribute much odds to them. I don't think the fact that now 10 teams participate this time significantly improves the forecast of Africa getting the title this year, although it does give them greater visibility, which I imagine will be linked to some funding, and it is sure to be positive for the future of these national teams.

Well, I do not know how prepared Senegal is for this year's world Cup but I would have easily voted them to stand a good chance, but after Morocco of cause, but this is also of the Moroccan national team are still in form like they were in the 2022 world Cup when and where they made it to the semi-finals, but I doubt..

And my reason for doubting is because looking or judging from how they (the Moroccan national team) performed in the recent AFCON tournament that was concluded some months back, their performance was very poor and from all that happened in the finals, it shows that they must have bribed CAF to ensure that they are made the winner of the tournament.
So, I won't really be placing my bet on Morocco to be honest, the next in line team for me is Senegal but like I said before, I don't know how prepared they are. And I also don't even think any African country currently is well grounded enough to win the world Cup, I am not trying to be pessimistic but realistic.

This is new, there are ten African teams at the world cup, they don't usually have such a high number of clubs representing the continent. One thing about this is that just because there are lots of African countries doesn't really increase the chances of any of them winning the cup because there are lots of countries competing that are highly formidable.

They had a great World Cup, a great Africa Cup of Nations, and are still doing very well in the FIFA rankings
And they also qualified well for the World Cup, without any scares

Well as for me I guess the first three countries on your list will do their best. However, even for the fact tbthat I'm also an african, the truth is that even though there are more African countries on the world cup, it doesn't guarantee that the title will come to Africa but the only thing it can do here is to increase the chances of winning it, but there's no guarantee.

Morocco, Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire are my top three picks to struggle it out to at least the final stages and that's if these teams manage to evade playing France or Brazil or any of the top European contenders in the fixtures.
Am seeing Morocco as the flag bearers for Africa because of their previous display that led them to the semi finals and I am waiting to be shocked beyond that supposing another African team rises to the occasion.

It's historic because in the history of football we haven't gotten this large number of Africns teams that will play in the world cup, so it's a good one and if there are teams amongst them that will fly the African flag high are just Morocco, Senegal and Egypt due to the quality and mentality of the players they have for example, Senegal has the likes of Mane, kaloubaliy etc, these are big team players who has experience so I think they will go far but for Morocco I doubt if they are going to go far this time around due to what they did at AFCON trying to bribe their way to the trophy.

Those three teams I picked are the teams I'm routing for, atleast they can battle their way into the final stages of the tournament, even though they are not going to win the trophy. I predicted Brazil to win the upcoming world cup because I will love to see Neymar win it before retiring from professional football.

In the last few years, there has been great development in African soccer, while things are still looking not favourable in this mega event because they are lacking consistency and quality, which is needed to win the World Cup, but as things are going, hopes are high that change will happen and teams will do an impressive job.

Morocco and Senegal are the best teams on the African continent, but the difference in quality is a problem. Too many African players are in top European countries because they feel they can achieve what is not possible through their own countries. It is also trauma because now changes are already happening, and they can surely go for wins if they believe and give their best.

Probably the added 5 teams increases the scales of the continent to be positioned to a possible victory. I am trusting the universe to stand behind African countries in this World Cup tournament, it should not be by the numbers alone, we want to go far in the competition, African countries has been belittled when it comes to the World Cup, when choosing favorites for the tournament, no African country is counted among the possible options.

It will turn out to be one of the best surprises if any African country wins the tournament, something which has never happened, this will turn out to be one of the most interesting World Cup, good luck to them participating.

I was never aware, this just made me run some research only to find out that the closest any African country has been is 4th place in 2022 by Morocco, which is also where most of the hopes are.

Wow i never knew we had ten African countries that qualified for the FIFA world cup i thought it was the usual five teams because i lost interest on the world cup since my country did not qualify. However, out of the ten African countries that are to play in the FIFA world cup only Morocco has the potential of reaching  semi final or final.

Outside Morrocco, Senegal will also go far, but I doubt if can make it too semi final, I am really sad that my country won't be playing in the FIFA world cup. however, i will still support the African countries that qualified to play in the FIFA world cup this year.

There are only 4 teams I believe will be able to get 3 points in the world Cup and they are Senegal, Egypt, Morocco and South Africa. The rest of the teams are merely going to answer present with no hope of winning any serious team or any trophy. It is not always about quantity but by quality which is where African football is lagging behind. I don't expect much from African teams considering how formidable some teams are like Belgium, Spain, Germany and even France.

Naturally, most people will be rallying behind Morocco and Senegal because they were the two teams that just played in the AFCON final, and right now they look like the most organized and toughest African sides heading into the World Cup. Morocco already showed what they can do with their amazing World Cup run in 2022, while Senegal in the other hand have consistently been one of Africa's strongest teams.
