https://github.com/ethicbrudhack/Password-hints-for-old-lost-wallet.dat

i'm genuinely curious how you came across this  Grin i looked at it, its a textbook scam, the README gives it away completely

$200 "for access to 10 000 wallets", crypto only payment, contact via a random gmail. if this ethicbrudhack guy actually had 10k wallets with anything in em, why would he sell access for $200 instead of just draining them himself?

id report the repo and move on

Are you sure this is not yourself op? The repo looks really new. I can't imagine scrolling Google pages would lead you there easily. Just do what has been suggested above. It's likely a scam. Even if you assume that guy don't have the hardware to bruteforce those wallets, it's pretty easy to generate thousands of old wallets yourself. If for some reason you're worried about BTC security or something, don't.

Even if the seller send all the files, i expect those are fake wallet.dat files. One of Bitcoin Core developer explain in detail why people can't really tell whether it's "fake" or not, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5130929.msg50566174#msg50566174.

id report the repo and move on

Unfortunately GitHub these days full of these shady, scam or malicious stuff. Some time ago, it's enough to make people make article like this https://gbhackers.com/new-github-scam/.

Unfortunately GitHub these days full of these shady, scam or malicious stuff. Some time ago, it's enough to make people make article like this https://gbhackers.com/new-github-scam/.

Better expect those scams, so they won't fall easily on fake wallet.dat files. Also as what they explain, to hard to determine immediately whether its fake or not. That's why reporting it and stay away with it will be the wisest choice that could made.

Unfortunately Github became a bad place now, because their platform is been haunted by many malicious uploads nowadays. People need to be notified on this schemes since its better to have knowledge about it rather than fall from bad tricks of those bad actors.

Unfortunately, many people believe that the code is safe simply because it is on GitHub, which is clearly a scam, as in the case above, and it only takes a little thought to realize that it is a scam.

Another malware attack approach disguised as wallet cracking, recovery scripts or tradable wallet. How does a repo with recent creation containing .dat files dated 2018 make sense? How does it look legit for a wallet recovery project?. Real old wallet files would have a long commit history, not what we have here.

4 commits just 2 days ago. How does it really make sense for wallets with holdings of old blockchain timestamps.

So is this a new form of marketing? Very not unique if you ask me because it's clear as day this person wants to scam unsuspecting individuals.
So make it make sense; you have 10,000 Bitcoin wallets yet it's 200 dollars one can use to access it? Is that like the gate fee or something?
So I took a look at your post history and it shows that you are an ardent marketer of new projects that hold no value or significance, what's stopping you from being the creator of this "report you came across on GitHub?".

This is a scam. The GitHub repo says it will give you access to "10,000 Bitcoin wallets" for $200 but it's just a bunch of random password lists that are worth nothing.
Real Bitcoin wallets are extremely hard to crack. You’re obviously the mastermind behind this, trying to use these fake offers to collect money from hopeful people.
