Do America really need to Co-host the World cup?

I've read on several social media platforms where people have been denied entry Visa to America to watch the World Cup, some of the applicants literally have all the documents required, some are even denied entry after arrival, Hotels have been booked already, and some are even complaining of the fact that even the tickets to watch the games have been bought despite how very expensive they are.

The latest denial is a Somalian Referee that has been denied entry, imagine where an Official of the tournament is been denied entry. For best part of my life, I've known American to be a country that loves basketball more, they rarely watch football ( soccer), so they might not really relate with what this tournament means to the rest of the World especially football fans. Qatar hosted the last World cup, sincerely we didn't witness much of this back and forth. Yes, I don't think it has so much to do with the fact that it's about the World Cup itself, as it does with the historic political moment that the country is going through. This to me is very simple, if as a country you know, you have strict security compliance that Visa applicants should meet before applying, then you shouldn't be hosting the "WORLD CUP". This is the World cup, everybody is enthusiastic to come and watch, some football fans wants to come and watch their favorite player, some just wants to enjoy the fun of the World cup, and as a country if you know that people coming to your country might breach your security architecture, then you shouldn't be hosting such an event, because there is reason why it is Called World CUP.  They would have relaxed some of their strict compliance rules to accommodate the people that are coming to watch this World cup.

You made a valid observation here. If the US are being particular about the number of entry into their country, show interest to host the World Cup if the plan is to restrict some individuals. To even add more people into the list, I think the Iranian teams won't play their games in the US but rather in Mexico and this is something that's really concerning.

First of all, hosting the World Cup is huge and then whoever is hosting it is not supposed to make it annoying to attend. All these stories of denied visas to watch the World Cup are not good at all. You may have the world-class facilities, but if your services to consumers are bad, then your top-notch stadium or facility is just for fancy. Because it is the fans that will make use of it and even the players too.
I am even more surprised that they denied a referee. Like for real, that's sad.

 I don't think the USA should ever host anything that concerns the world if they can't fix their visa issues. People are already stressed; don't add to it.
I don't know whether there is a visa policy for those that want to host. If there's none, FIFA should consider doing that. America will be one of those countries that won't get picked. Except they want to bribe their way and FIFA collects bribes.

So far so good, only Ian Wright and a very few journalists have boldly come out to talk about this.
Is it not funny how a lot of people dragged Qatar for placing a ban on LGBTq related, and also, Alcohols in their stadiums during the 2022 WC, but we are yet to see them make the same complaint on a country whose Visa ban is likely to affect not just some of the participants, but also the fans as well?. Just imagine a scenario where Canada and Mexico ends up having more people than the US through out the entire competition. FIFA is literally messing things up.

And this is a bit out of the context, but why is nobody talking about the 30 mins halftime music break in the WC final?. Like, this is something that the footballing world is not used to, and I don't think it makes any sense.

This is a very sad development coming from the American government, if they are not comfortable with certain people coming into their country to enjoy the world cup they should have specified their requirements in advance so that if you are not eligible you will know before starting to make plans and spend your money for tickets and reservations. I know that Trump, have been very tough on immigration laws and migrants and maybe he is thinking that some of this people will enter his country and disappear because they wouldn't want to go back to their countries or maybe it's for security reasons. Whatever it is wouldn't be fair on visitors who genuinely wants to enter the country to watch the world cup live including players and officials who are professionals.

Everything about the United States and the rest of the Western world has always been about double standards. I am just imagining for a second if anything that has been happening to the potential World Cup visitors/fans and teams while trying to get to the US even happened in Qatar or any other country on the other side of the sphere, you would see a lot of outrage on media. You have not answered the question of the OP, rather, you are stating reasons why the Americans have decided to take the situation of security to an extreme length, where it is no longer called security but racial discrimination and political differences. I really wish they could boycott, but I believe some of the countries are already tired, and might just want to get done with it as soon as possible. It's no surprise that the United States can act like this when football was never among their top two sporting activities. This isn't the Super bowl or some random NBA tournament finals, so they clearly don't understand its importance. Earlier today, I saw a report on ESPN twitter(X) page, stating the reason why the Somalian referee was denied entry into the United States. The stated reason was literally one of the weakest excuses a country could come up with just to deny a certified referee entry.

And most people who spent high, are there for the purpose of going to the US to explore the nation, I think he's curtailing crime rate with this, although it may sound harsh, but US is a tough place for immigrants.

I think FIFA is under the influence or control of some powerful nations, which include the US. I wonder why this organization didn't move all the matches to Canada and Mexico. You've exactly echoed my thoughts with your analysis, this is not the Super bowl or the NBA tournament so it is not among a top priority when it comes to sports in America, that is why they don't see any issue with the way they are treating teams unfairly with their security check. This is what comes with power, when power is demanded it creates many enemies. The US, Trump especially is not in good relation with most countries, hosting the world cup that is supposed to connect countries, build friendship is now being politicized, i hope they don't host the world cup again, until they build a better relationship with the rest of the world.

FIFA and all those other footballing bodies, like UEFA, have been dead for a long time. They are so good at playing double standards. Remember how they quickly banned the Russian football team and all the clubs in other competitions for the war against Ukraine?

Canada will host out most 13 matches for the world cup starting tomorrow and im happy that one of their citizen has chosen to welcome me in a grand style.
