I don't know if the OP has an issue with his HW or the situation is the other way around - because after years of asking questions and hundreds of mostly very good and excellent answers, he appears every few months as a complete beginner who seems to have never used HW.

OP was probably stumped by the relatively new Sync app that Ledger added not long ago. I will do a favor for OP by providing a reference to the official clarification on what it is and how to use it.

Briefly, it allows users to sync their relevant Ledger Wallet accounts across separate machines, but if they have only a single computer with Ledger Wallet installed, they should never bother with this feature. Otherwise, they should confirm the sync on their Ledger device after the relevant button is pressed on Ledger Wallet and wait... wait... wait.

Hope my remark will save both OP's time and nerves.

Yes I never heard about the Sync App so that is why I asked this question.  I was confused how come Ledger Sync 1.2 was added to my nano ledger s plus as I never had this app before.  Since it showed that, I didn't want to sync it yet because of this reason.


At the moment, my current windows laptop is the only laptop I believe that has ledger wallet installed.  The reason why I say believe and not 100% is because I had an older windows laptop that I haven't used for a long time and used ledger live on it for a while... but I do believe I deleted and removed the program from that old computer.  So I'm close to 100% sure I only have ledger wallet/ledger live installed on one device now which is the current windows laptop I'm using.


The reason why I asked about ledger sync is because in the accounts tab of ledger wallet, there is a red dot notification that like sort of tells you to sync ledger which is why I ask this.  So I want to get rid of this message.  So even if I have ledger wallet installed on one device, I should do the sync ledger or not?  I want to get rid of that red dot notification.  So after syncing it, that red dot notification will go away then?  You mention you shouldn't bother with this feature if only using one single computer but how would I get rid of that red dot notification then?  So if I sync it, it would sync and complete even if I only used ledger wallet on one device?

Yeah, if that red button makes you too nervous, just press it, accept the sync on Ledger nano, and wait a bit. That annoying notification will go away in a while. Ledger doesn't know how many machines you have installed Ledger Live on. ^{If you don't want to deal with the sync, just don't care about this red button. It will not harm you}.
