Trading is more like gambling if you are trading blindly. And even if you trade with basic knowledge, but the fact that you are still imitating others and rely on their shared signals, that's already contributing to gambling.

No good and reliable trader get to trade cluelessly and still confident that if they copy those experienced traders, they will also gained the success that they have achieved. Trading is a matter of responsibility and accountability. You trade on your own and make use of it as your own asset, not like you trade just to copy what others are doing. That's still gambling.

If you are trading without any form of knowledge it means you are gambling because at this point you are completely relying on luck. I know being lucky us involved in trading but it doesn't make sense when one completely depends on luck in trading, it actually one is not even trading but trying to make money by all means. Trading is risky and complex and if you really want to do well knowledge should be the first priority because it determines if you will hsve good results in trading.
The trading market rewards those who are more disciplined and educated enough to understand the noise and be able to differentiate the sense from the nonsense more than those who do the exact opposite.
Trading differs from gambling because of the technicality that must be incorporated to secure capital and limit loss.
Those who become merchant traders have long gained the knowledge of risk management practices too and it is mostly in those strategies they employ they use this knowledge, which sets it apart from gambling where risk management may be thrown to wind in many occasions because of the luck factor that is fake hope with the illusion of a big win.

~snip~

So, if you are the one who is a newbie or new in the crypto space, or you are following someone's shared signals and starting trading without learning or getting knowledge, then you are not doing trading; you are gambling with your funds. What do you guys think about this? CMIIW!

Yup, I agree. Without proper knowledge what we do in trading is not really trading but gambling, as we are relying purely on our luck. Without knowledge, someone probably buy at a random price without understanding the probability of the price moving up or down. It is different when they have at least some basic knowledge of TA as they can identify one or two trading setups and make more informed decisions.

Shared signals are much more useful when the provider explains the reasons behind their buy and sell decisions. This not only helps traders understand the logic behind the trade but also provides valuable insights instead of simply giving entry and exit prices and then remaining silent. Just because a signal works well in a bull market does not mean it will work equally well in a bear market therefore relying solely on signals is not a wise decision.

Many sees trading as gambling because they approach it that way . Instead one running proper analysis before any entry , they will just jump in with the hope of getting lucky enough for the price skyrocket up , and it shouldn’t be like that cause you are a trader not a gambler , yes trading is like you betting if the price will go up or down, in that same trading knowledge plays a big role in it , like Technical and fundamentals knowledge once you understand this two aspect trading won’t be seen as gambling to you again .

The essence of trading and learning on your own is lost when you start to trade following other people's signals, because it seems like you trade like gambling and depend your luck and success to those who come first and become successful prior to your future success in trading.

Let's be realistic, no good trader turns out trading relying to other people. You trade on your own and learn from your own mistakes and lapses, because that will turn out later to be your strength and asset in trading, while those who trade like no security start trading like gambling, and there's no guarantee that signals that work for them will also work the same on your own trade.

It is true that trading with other people's signals is not possible to achieve success, moreover, trading with other people's signals is like gambling. An experienced and skilled trader never uses other people's signals and does not learn from all the trading that is discussed on various social media. Rather, good traders always try to gain experience and gradually focus on how to achieve success. Although trading is very risky, you have to learn and analyze it well, and later on, if you trade, it will be possible to move towards success. If you can learn on your own, you will not have to take other people's signals about trading and you will be able to profit yourself and achieve success in trading.

The line between trading and gambling is very thin. Essentially, you are simply gambling and no longer trading.

Indeed, if you do it wrong you immediately risk your life. In my opinion these two terms are different in language but the meaning or potential outcomes are the same. Therefore it is better to analyze first before starting whether trading or gambling.

Understanding the method is better than doing it directly because once the risk has been experienced we will certainly not be able to reverse what has happened to us as the main role in doing it. This doesn't mean you can't trade or gamble but understanding the method will make it easier for us to do it whether gambling or trading. It all depends on us who feel because the provisions are only up to us personally who considers ourselves how so there is no need for it to be determined by other parties. We in trading or gambling are only tools to be their tools so we have to acknowledge their orders because in reality we are carrying out the analysis only with our personal desires without any encouragement from certain parties.

The point is, EVEN if PLEBS like US take trading courses, do our research, and try to "trade" - The result will STILL be the same. We PLEBS will still lose our precious capital to professional traders who have more capital than us and more technical knowledge than us. They also have an army of trading bots that automate their trades.

 Cool

Ok mate, i got you here. No doubt, there are still chances that one can lose its funds in the open trade even if it has much knowledge about the trading space due to unpredictable behaviour of the market. You are saying very correct about this concern but here my point is that I am just trying to say knowledge can sometimes be helpful that can help to win some trades. Are you getting my point here? Meaning that the chances can be reduce of of losing every trade because of having good knowledge about the trading space.

Let me ask a question for you as a fellow PLEB. Have you done ALL of your research in trading? Do you believe you will be rich through trading merely because you have done your "research"?

We have a higher probability to make money through HODLing Bitcoin.

Other than this, haha, mate, you are asking a wrong question to a wrong person because I am also a holder of Bitcoin not a trader. I always try my best to stay away from trading space. And more intact to the plan of holding Bitcoin for the long term so that the chances can be reduce of losing money in crypto of space. Because this is so sure that holding Bitcoin for long term is more safer way to make money as compared to trade any other shitcoins or altcoins.

Trading is inherently risky, so beginners must be careful that before entering trading, they must first control their greed. Because if they trade without proper research and skills, their capital will definitely be at risk, so they should never enter trading with excessive risks. Therefore, knowledge, skills, experience and research make trading more powerful for every field, and provide assurance for profit in trading, so every new person must keep these things simple.
Yup, but at the same time, one must be ready to accept if trading doesn't work out for them. Not everyone can be a trader and sometimes realizing this is extremely costly and wastes golden years of our life. So, if you are trading the right way and using the right tools, and still it's not working out for you, then consider taking at least a temporary pause and assessing things from a third-person perspective.

Once you stop trading and start looking at everything from an outsider's perspective you sometimes notice things that you would otherwise never notice because you get stuck in a loop of trying and failing.

The line between trading and gambling is very thin. Even if you have knowledge and always conduct thorough analysis before entering a trade, if the result are still continuous losses but you do not want to stop and keep trading to try to recover. Essentially, you are simply gambling and no longer trading.

Whether you are a trader or a gambler is determined by your behavior, not by the tools or knowledge you have. Dont assume that just because youre trading Bitcoin and always analyze before entering a trade, you are a trader.

Well, it's obvious that when someone is constantly losing money in trading and is still doing it without any breaks, then they are just fighting the market and not using their knowledge anymore, and that's not how you do trading because trading is all about using your brain, your knowledge, and your experience so that you can get the most of the opportunities laid down in front of you by the market, and if the market deceives you, you should take a step back, rethink about the decisions you've made, review all the steps to find the mistakes, and then work on the mistakes so that you can come back stronger. Don't be in a hurry; it's better to be ready than to be early.

So, you are right that your behaviour shows whether you are actually a trader or you are just pretending to be a trader and you are actually just a gambler who is using the crypto market as a casino to try their luck and see if they can make some money, and I would say, those who don't want to spend any time on learning and gaining knowledge should go to a casino and try their luck there and they might actually make some money from there instead of wasting their money on trades because without any knowledge, you are just throwing your money away.

I hate when people make this comparison, if you are trading like you are gambling, as in you have no idea and just risking it and without any knowledge, then yeah you could be calling it gambling. But making this comparison never made sense to me, because if you are not careful then you could call everything a gambling.

By this logic, if you have a book store, and buy books for a lot without any knowledge of their value, then you would not be able to sell them for profit, and bankrupt your bookstore, if you are selling apple, banana, a grocery store type thing, if you buy bad product and for a lot, you would not be able to sell neither. In this regard everything would be considered a gambling if you have no knowledge of the product.

I'm not talking about us PLEBS losing precious capital in the market because of "unpredictability". The point is we PLEBS lose our precious capital because we simply DO NOT have an edge. Studying, research, having market knowledge, taking PAID trading courses DO NOT matter because we are under-capitalized PLEBS who will NEVER have an edge in trading.

You probably could "reduce" losing money, but because WE PLEBS do not have an edge, we still lose money like how those PLEBS who play against the house edge in the casino.

We can say that both are different, but there is only a thin line between them. In gambling, the risk involved is very high. Nothing is in your control; everything depends on luck. In trading, however, market analysis can help you choose the right coin at the right time, increasing your chances of making a profit.

The point at which trading becomes similar to gambling is when you trade aggressively without doing proper research. If you open trades based solely on gut feelings and conviction, the level of risk increases significantly. As we know, when the risk is high, the chances of losing money also increase.

Therefore, as long as you trade with proper analysis and proper risk management, you are on the right track and are far from gambling your money.

Trading is more like gambling if you are trading blindly. And even if you trade with basic knowledge, but the fact that you are still imitating others and rely on their shared signals, that's already contributing to gambling.

Trading is far different from gambling, starting from the illustration they are two different things because if you should look at it, gambling is usually about sports and sports prediction alone and when it comes to trading, you have to even do a lot of things even if it's about a coin, you have to make sure that you know what you are doing when you are trading because there is a lot of opportunity in it but it's just a matter of time kind of thing.

Quote
No good and reliable trader get to trade cluelessly and still confident that if they copy those experienced traders, they will also gained the success that they have achieved. Trading is a matter of responsibility and accountability. You trade on your own and make use of it as your own asset, not like you trade just to copy what others are doing. That's still gambling.

the traer have to do market analysis and from there they will be able to determine whatever step they will be taking will be determined by the market analysis that has been done because no matter what it comes with a lot of responsibility. because there is no way that you will want to trade, and it won't come with a responsibility because it comes with a lot of process.

So, if you are the one who is a newbie or new in the crypto space, or you are following someone's shared signals and starting trading without learning or getting knowledge, then you are not doing trading; you are gambling with your funds. What do you guys think about this? CMIIW!

Honestly, anyone who does not have proper knowledge of trading is simply a gambler, even if they claim to be a trader. Therefore, if someone is yet to gain proper knowledge about trading and acquire some experience in the crypto industry, it is better for them to stay away from trading because trading is not all about luck, like gambling. In fact, making money from trading is not easy. Even experienced traders lose money from time to time. So, think about someone who does not even have a good understanding of trading they will most likely lose all their funds within a short period. Therefore, if anyone wants to get involved in trading, they need to be calm learn properly, so they can always able to do proper analysis.

Practically, gambling and trading are different, because the methods and strategies of both are different; just as gambling is based on luck, but to start trading, you need to know a lot. Trading will be considered as gambling only when you start without any analysis and skill, you just buy random coins without any market analysis, then it cannot be called trading because you are trading without any market research. I don't think there is any difference between gambling and trading, even for those who have no basic knowledge of trading, because they think both rely on luck.

Trading is a learned skill and if you are more ready to learn through the process and have the knowledge of trading, then you’re not better off trading but you should engage in other activities that doesn’t require you having such technical skill in the market. If you’re a trader, you have no concerns with paying for signals to enable to trade, if you’re found that, you shouldn't be trading. As a beginner, even if you pay for a signal and you don’t know how to trade, you’ll misuse the signal into your own loss and you will not make anything out from it. So it’s better to calm down to learn and have the knowledge of the market before beginning to trade.

If one doesn't know the best way of doing research, and really doesn't know how to check whether the project is good or bad, in which he is going to open trade. I really believe that if one wants to start their trading journey, then one should keep learning more and more, and the more knowledge one has learned, the less they should consider it. Knowledge is the power in the trading space because of the unpredictable behavior of the crypto market.
The most important thing, I believe, that differentiates a serious trader from those gambling in the name of trading, is patience. The gambler mentality always wants money fast without effort. All those people trading at 50-100x leverage are basically gambling without even realizing that they are.

Trading requires immense patience and perseverance because the results are not always favourable and trading is not fun. You have to spend hours on the computer trying to understand different aspects and how things work, which is not easy and doesn't even guarantee profit or success. But one who sticks and does it right usually succeeds. In gambling, the more you gamble, the worse it gets instead.

Over my many years in the crypto space, I have experienced that trading is more like gambling if one does not have sufficient knowledge about FA(fundamental analysis) and TA(technical analysis).
Some people just trade blindingly, they don’t even care to learn about trading, some of them have friends or family members that’s into trading, and they decide to jump into it hoping to make money without taking their time to learn about trading. If you want to be a trader, you have to start from the basics, then with time you will improve. You have to take your time to learn how to do your analysis before you start trading.

If you want to be a trader, and you don’t have any knowledge about technical analysis, you just jump into a trade, then you are a gambler, because trading isn’t suppose to be done like that, if you want to trade, you have to do your analysis before entering a trade.

I can't agree more with you on this snowpega. Because anything without proper knowledge and experienced person's guide is gambling and risking your time, resources on luck alone which could give you results but it would be based on trend then it won't be consistent. Because if we are not good in trading then we will not be trading in bear season because we won't be able to find any opportunity in bear market.

Just to clear up I am not so good but I am still able to find opportunities but I just paper trade them as I don't have capital to risk this time of the market.

Anyway, we should gain knowledge by paper trading or by risking a very small amount, because playing in the field and in virtual reality is different.
