Anything done without understanding or reasoning is called gambling because you'll never know what will make you win or lose. This also means that following someone else's signals can be like gambling because you don't know the reason why you're opening a trade.
However, this doesn't mean that knowing the reason for your trade will always result in profits. This means that even if you trade based on analysis and not guessing price direction, you will still profit. Essentially, there are always factors that can cause you to lose, even if you trade based on all your knowledge and skills.

Very clear because people that are doing things without understanding are the once that will call trading gambling because you don't have anything that is putting you on point because when it comes trading you need to be able to know what to do because there is a lot of people that don't know what they are doing are the once that are always complaining and that is why it is important for you to go for the knowledge and when you have the knowledge every other thing will become less and this is more reasons why we are a suppose to encourage people to go for knowledge first.

Trading is very complicated and that is why is it is not suppose to be taking lightly and that way you will record less losses and that is the important thing to do  is just to go for the knowledge.

blindly following influencer signals or social media noise and dropping positions isn't trading, it's just pure degen gambling. back in the day i got burned by listening to chatter too, but u quickly realise there's zero survival route unless u map out the market structure urself and lock down tight risk management. no matter how loud the chop gets, if u don't build ur own logic and backtest it, ur just stuck in a buggy loop getting farmed by big whales and losing funds. solid knowledge and cold risk control are literally the only clean code to survive this brutal game.

Over my many years in the crypto space, I have experienced that trading is more like gambling if one does not have sufficient knowledge about FA(fundamental analysis) and TA(technical analysis). If one doesn't know the best way of doing research, and really doesn't know how to check whether the project is good or bad, in which he is going to open trade. I really believe that if one wants to start their trading journey, then one should keep learning more and more, and the more knowledge one has learned, the less they should consider it. Knowledge is the power in the trading space because of the unpredictable behavior of the crypto market.

In trading space, if knowledge fails due to unpredictable behavior of the market, where big whales and manipulators plays thier big role to trap the traders. Besides this, FUD also plays its dangerous role to trap the traders many times, as manipulators spread FUD using rumors and wrong news on social media platforms like X, and sometimes they use big accounts to spread wrong news to trap the traders, so that investors believe the news by looking at the level of the account. Trading is not easy, in my opinion, if you are bad at research.

So, if you are the one who is a newbie or new in the crypto space, or you are following someone's shared signals and starting trading without learning or getting knowledge, then you are not doing trading; you are gambling with your funds. What do you guys think about this? CMIIW!

From personal experience, trading becomes gambling the moment emotions start making decisions instead of a plan

I’ve had two periods when I was actively trading, and both times I managed to destroy almost the entire deposit

The funny thing is that having some TA and FA knowledge didn’t automatically prevent it

You can understand charts and still overtrade, chase losses, increase risk after a bad trade or convince yourself that the next position will fix everything

So knowledge definitely helps, but discipline and risk management are what separate trading from gambling in practice

This is usually what makes some of the newbies appear in crypto space, they are easily convinced with what they saw and that is why they just jump in thinking that they will easily make fast money. Honestly I will only tell a newbie to go and invest in Bitcoin if they have a red discretionary income rather than telling him to just go and start trading, in trading I will advise him to go and study and know more about it very well before getting involved, but investing in Bitcoin, I will direct him to go ahead and also continue learning about it in the process of their investment.

You are absolutely right. There is a lot of noise on social media when the market is falling or during the market is rising. Investors have different financial capabilities and your own personal financial capabilities and daily needs are not comparable to others. Influencers will attract investors. This is right investors should not be trust by their words and use leverage. This is the best decision. These Influencers are campaigning for specific project for their own interests and fooling investors. No matter how volatile the market is, analyze your own statistics and regularly invest in Bitcoin through discretionary funds from the funds you earn.

This is what should be done, in the case of trading, he has to learn trading for a long time, but in investment, he can start by acquiring general knowledge. This is the advantage of investment, here you do not need to delay, rather acquire general knowledge and after that maintain the investment and know it better, but here the process is long-term, if you expect a good result from the investment, you have to maintain the investment for a long time. Actually, everything has some advantages and disadvantages, and after considering those things and your own capabilities, you have to decide to do anything. But there is no way that you can become rich from anything overnight.

Without technical analysis or any form of research trading is going to be be gambling whether we like it or not. Trading isn't really the same as gambling if traders have sufficient knowledge that's the most important aspect of it. Another vital thing is that trading isn't something that anyone is supposed to think of making money rapidly from, it does not really matter if your goal is simply to make money or become rich but it is vital that you don't think like a gambler. A trader that doesn't apply risk management isn't a trader but a gambler.

Not at all. Though having knowledge can hopefully make the gambling aspect of trading less likely, that still doesn't mean that trading can't, in the end, actually become a gamble.

A trader may have a thorough understanding of technical analysis and a clear plan, but still let emotions get the better of them, overtrading, trying to recoup losses, or violating their own risk management rules. At that point, it becomes gambling, not trading anymore.

The problem isnt just what you know. Its whether you can actually stick to what you know when things go against you. And thats probably the hardest part of trading.

Let me tell you the trader that is gambling or betting on the market.

When a trader enter into a trade suing the signal from influencers or telegram groups channels, without doing their own fundamental analysis of the market, what that trader is doing is betting on the market which is gambling to me.

But what you should also know is that having FA/TA knowledge alone doesn't guarantee your winning in trading so to ultimately win along the line you need to have patience, proper risks management.
Your first point makes a lot of sense,  asides from using signals another thing to show that a trader is gambling is a trader that doesn't follow the principle of risk management, meaning that the trader doesn't trade with lot size that's moderate all because they intend to use a small amount of money to make huge profits within a short period of time, in the long run such traders end up incurring losses. Personally, I think trading signals are useful when you know how to analyze the market so you don't end up taking trades you don't understand it can't explain.

I believe the most important thing is that having knowledge and control over the decision are two different things. Someone with the good fundamental and technical analysis can result in losses because of money and emotions involved. Knowing what to do doesn't always mean it goes as planned. Then chasing losses is dangerous as it can create a Lossing trade cycles one after another loss. For me i think emotions do not make trading a gambling because it is a part of life, but the issue is when we begin to give in to our emotions and abandon our strategies. Knowledge provides us a greater view in simple terms more opportunities but understanding the amount of risk that can be taken will determine whether a mistake will affect our account.

I will only advice people who want to save their money and not waste it that trading is almost thesame  thing as gambling, and therefore, if you will not like to gamble, it's better you don't indulge in trading as well by they both have same traits, they both have same purpose, and to me, gambling is even better than trading. Those who have been into trading before and have known that it is traumatizing when you lose money, will never even advice anyone to go into it again.

On the other hand, people who haven't trade before, and are eager to double there income see trading as a means of doing so, and that's is why even when you tell them that it consumes money, they keep wanting to try their own luck whether they will win or lose. Sometimes it is good to allow those ones that haven't tried it to try it so that they will know the things involved and see for themselves.

One of the biggest mistakes that newbies used to (and still pretty much do) make is entering the market with money they’re not prepared or can’t afford to lose simply because they heard that the market has potentials for quick returns. Investing requires someone who not only have a source of income but is willing to set aside their discretionary income, right after they’ve settled all their essential expenses. This is because this enables them to learn how the market works without seeing every market decline as an enemy or without being in a hurry to sell their coin prematurely.

I think it is only the newbie who keep doing such a thing because as you call yourself a trader and you do not have any knowledge regard with what you are doing then I must say that such person is gambling. For one to trade they shouldn't have to be following someone signals and copying their trade they should at least understand what they are doing before they finally use signal where if they are trading and they noticed that the trade is not going how they expected they could evaluate the market themselves and enter trade instead of copying someone or even using their signal to trade.

Traders have the mindset of having gambling in mind, and they have never been sure about their signals. They have always done things like these because they want to have money, but not with trading; they are looking for others to join and take risks. It mostly ends on the worst side because signal providers have never had good search and analysis; they mostly act through emotions and influences.
Chasing targets with having no fair chances if they are doing good search and have authenticity about their signals they can earn good profit and also have enough to stay on good level but megacity and gambling mindset always encourage them to do things like this and have problems for others those are following them and also have no good mind like them never follow any thing like this and try to do search for having profit.

Motivation is a good thing when you want to be a trader, but you must realize that you need to study technical analysis as well as knowledge. It is not something you start and then start making money from; it takes time to understand trading and start making money because, even after learning, you will need to practice with a demo account, and that is how it is supposed to be. There should be no rushing because it takes time to master.

And if someone feels that trading is difficult and they are not profitable, it would be best for them to simply go for holding. At that point, they won't have to worry about learning; it's crucial to understand that trading isn't for everyone, so it's better to do something else. Because the truth is trading is not easy. No matter how they want to put it you have to be ready to dedicate, if not you will end up giving up.

I see no reason why anyone should get involved in trading without having knowledge on what the market is all about, a lof of people prefer to trade and also rely on other people to get signals without them having any knowledge on it. Asides from knowledge there are other things that shows that a trader thinks like a gambler, setting up a high lot size, having no form of risk management and trying to make huge amounts from little capital within a short period of time.
