England and West Indies match is underway, with England reaching 104 for the loss of 2 wickets in 11.4 overs. I am expecting England to post around 175 runs and secure a win. Actually I am curious to see how the West Indies will bat when facing a huge total to chase.

England just lost their 3rd wicket.

It was a good prediction. England scored 186 runs and it is a huge task for any team to chase, especially in Women T20s. West Indies have chased down totals and won games in this World Cup, but getting to 186 runs was a massive task and as expected they lost by 38 runs.

The next matches we have are, India and Bangladesh, which will likely be another one sided game as India is the much stronger team. We also have South Africa and Netherlands. The odds provided for both of these matches are really low and hence I will pass on these matches.

England Women vs West Indies Women

England Women created perfect performance at Lord to get their first place in semifinals. Danni Wyatt Hodge scored 65 runs off 42 balls and Heather Knight added 43 runs in 26 balls to lead England to 186/7. Charlie Dean was best of the bowlers with 2/31. After getting out West Indies captain Hayley Matthews in the opening moments of fourth over, Deandra Dottin followed her in next over for bowled out wicket, leaving the Windies 46/2 at end of the powerplay. Chinelle Henry had to make 51 in 106 deliveries, but West Indies never really looked likely to be threat and were bowled out for 148/5 for 38 runs loss. England sit unbeaten with 8 points from four games in Group 2. West Indies stay in semi final hope in second place with 6 points.

Sad to hear about Taylor getting affected by a virus due to which she couldn't play against England. She could have changed the result of that game. Australia and England are through to the knockouts. Big games for India and South Africa next.

Even this could be a one-sided affair because Indian women have good batting, and they needed to keep their NRR at a good level. This gives them a better chance of qualifying for the last four.

This is better news for them, because of which they are playing with better performance and are also winning. Their players have won here with much better performance and struggle and this winning was easy for them because they had a weaker team in comparison, so their won came with a better performance. Many of their players scored runs and everyone played fast and was better and playing together made their target better. This game was tough for WI Women because they were weak and there was pressure on them which they could not bear and the target became difficult for them and they did not score the full runs and were defeated. Congratulations to Eng Women on winning this game and they will have to win by playing better in the future so that they can have hope of saying congratulations in the future too.

It is going to be a huge battle for India if they want to qualify for the semi finals. Till now all the matches were easier to predict. Australia is going to be the toughest test for India and they need to win the match, if they want to qualify. Netherlands were never in running in chase and eventually finished at 120/8 with Phebe Molkenboer scoring 41 on the night and Ayabonga Khaka taking 3/19. South Africa won by 88 runs, their third consecutive win. With the score, they were tied on points with India in the group 1 standings, both on 6 points from 4 matches, but are lower on Net Run Rate than Indian team.

The Netherlands women are the lowest-ranked team in this ICC Women's World Cup, but still they have done a good job and have a good future. They are lacking experience and skills this needs more matches, which are not coming for many counties.

Indian women and England women are dominating this World Cup with their performance, but a few teams also have good potential, which needs a good number of games. Now they have their last game against Pakistan women. They are also at their worst for this game. I am expecting the Netherlands women can give a surprise because Pakistani women are not having good performance in batting, and this is their biggest problem.

Netherlands Women vs Pakistan Women

It is their first time playing the Women T20 World Cup for Netherlands and they are looking for first win to finish World Cup in style. Their most best batting is by Captain Babette de Leede who has scored 145 runs, on average of 48.33.
But the major disappointment is Pakistan, team with plenty of experience having failed to come up with anything special with big names not coming up to front in pressure situations. Their best has been that of brightest captain Fatima Sana who has claimed 8 wickets in 4 games. Netherlands Caroline de Lange has been great with the ball, having picked up 6 wickets in 4 games and Sadia Iqbal is Pakistan leading bowler with 7 wickets. Pakistan should have enough experience to grab this one, but Netherlands have nothing to lose, do not be surprised by free and interesting game from them.

Netherlands Women vs Pakistan Women

Gull Feroza was the player of the match for her wonderful innings. She scored 63 runs off 52 balls. Pakistan's matches have finished now but still Gull Feroza needs to improve her batting strike rate and needs to go for big shots fearlessly. She smashed 9 fours which is admirable, but to have a touch of six is always great, whereas she needs to improve running between the wickets in the sense that she looks for a single run in every ball otherwise her running is also excellent.

Ireland Women defeated West Indies Women, which was a big upset. West Indies Women were in good form after beating the defending champions New Zealand, Scotland and Sri Lanka and then ended up losing to England and now to Ireland.

Ireland Women defeated West Indies Women, which was a big upset. West Indies Women were in good form after beating the defending champions New Zealand, Scotland and Sri Lanka and then ended up losing to England and now to Ireland.

New Zealand and England match is underway. New Zealand posted a good total of 163 runs but England are in a good position chasing the total, as they just need 26 runs from 31 balls and they have 9 wickets in hand.

On paper it was not an upset. Both Ireland and West Indies are full member nations. But it is being considered as an upset, because even among the lower ranked full member nations, the gap can be quite large. Overall, it was a disappointing tournament for both the associate teams (Scotland and Netherlands). Scotland managed to defeat Ireland, and came close to defeat two other full member teams. Netherlands lost all of their matches. During their last match, they had a perfect opportunity to defeat Pakistan after bowling them out for just 126. But the Dutch themselves got out for just 89.

Wyatt-Hodge is easily the player of this tournament for me. She is absolutely on fire lately. I thought NZ set a competitive target to chase, but England made it looks like nothing at all. The Kiwis didn't really deserve to move forward anyway frankly speaking.

2 big encounters coming up. South Africa - Bangladesh where the Proteas should win and India - Australia where Australia should win. Excited!

At the end of 2.3 overs, Bangladesh Women are in early trouble at 7/1. Marizanne Kapp has already made mark with new ball (1/3 in 1.3 overs), and it will be a base for South African bowlers.

England have already qualified for the semi finals, unbeaten in the tournament. It's also a slip-up in the Windies.  Big match of the day is Australia vs India India must win to make the semifinal. Australia have already qualified.  It is also big Bangladesh vs South Africa encounter as two sides are just 0.05 NRR off each other, with two Group 1 games today deciding final two semi finals. Much to lose in both games on this day.
