Don't make the restrictions the US has on nations more especially Africa, sound like racism when it's actually not. It's about taking measures for nothing to go wrong in their country. Everyone has to understand that. Not today that US is known for taking strict measures on people when visiting their country for any reason. It's either they will thoroughly search you at their airport or deny your visa to their country.

They are not targeting one race. This bizarre incident is happening in the midst of strict security rules and protocols in the USA on World Cup. People from many other countries, including Europe, have also had to face the same strict checking.

The video of the incident in Senegal seemed very shocking and bad at first. But at the end of the day the Senegalese Football Federation itself has made it clear that such strict checking was a regular process in the case of charter flights. Playing the blame game of racism on the basis of mere words and inclinations allows the real culprits to get away with it and creates unnecessary and dirty arguments among the public. Blindly labeling any awkward or uncomfortable situation on the field as racism only weakens the fight against racism. Before making any move, we should keep our eyes and ears open and examine the real facts or truth.

The problem is there are just so many people on the internet trying to push certain narratives which go along with their personal political beliefs.
I am sure the image of white people passing through those security searches were not circulated at all, while the other ones where the the team of Sinegal were widely shared and pushed, as if that team was being targeted by immigration officers. .

I agree racism ksna very serious issue, an issue with the capacity of ruin lives, careers and get people to do very nefarious actions, no doubt about it. But if people call anything they see and don't like racism, it will only decreased seriousness of the problem of racism and people will disregard actual racism as something irrelevant.

I don't think this has anything to do with racism because this whole restriction in the US started about a year ago, a lot of African countries and other continents as well have been restricted from travelling to the US. This strict rule started under the administration of Donald Trump, doing this in the case of football is unwise.

The United States of America is a country that takes security very seriously, and since they are co-hosting the 2026 World Cup, they will welcoming people from different parts of the world including people from the countries that are theat to them. The only racial claim was the denial of access for Omar, the Somalia referree. Every other claim was to object to strict searches of professional players because we, football fans, think it is unnecessary. Check how the Mexicans welcome people to their country and what the US did. You will notice a big difference. One was hostile to the visitors while the other was welcoming. My main point is that, since the US is having insecurity issues and trust issues, why care to co-host the World Cup?

If you are very conscious of the safety and security of your nation, and you know that your nation is most hated and despised by other nations. It would have been better not to put interest in it and just partake in the football tournament than to co-host it because this pattern of security checks would only raise more dust on them as a nation, not to be a friendly nation in comparison with others.

Imagine the strict laws that were implemented just to curb most nationals from visiting to cheer up their teams during the World Cup tournament, the referee that was banned, the DR Congo nationals that were restricted, and all in the name of a virus breakout, and the other player that was banned from entering the US as well. It would have been better if they had maintained their space rather than getting themselves involved in this whole drama.

There country, their rules; Qatar didn't allowd alcohol in their stadiums and open places and everyone obeyed.

The United States is currently engaged in a war in the Middle East, so it's understandable that they want everyone entering their country to go through a sort of security check; it's annoying but necessary.

In short, if you're just doing your job as it is, then, why make a big deal out of it, right? That's their job unless, it is not part of their responsibility. People should not make a big fuss out of it. If it is part of their protocol, then, why question it? It is not because you are from this race or the other race, because doubt their motive if it is not part of their protocol.

Also, one needs to have a clear context of the situation in order to know what is going on and why there are some narratives which seem to be more visible than others. We are talking about the administration of Donald Trump in the United States, there are democrat circles and part of the party which are willing to do pretty much anything in their hands in order to demonize and picture Trump and his administration as racist and bigoted.

That is why it is not surprising to me these images are being circulated and only highlighting the security protocol being applied to black people from Africa, when in reality all of them are getting the same protocol.

The United States is a country in a very dark path as it stands today, they are very divided and politically radicalized, so expect they use anything on their power to attack the opposite people when comes to ideology.

I don't know what I should call this but I don't think racism in football is that obvious, maybe some judgments that we may not align with, some of the condition may actually not be as a result of racism, this is why we need to critically look into every situation and broadly apply a considerable foresight what is actually happening and why they are doing so, set we know their intention to every of their actions you may not decide or conclude on what they meant.

Exactly what I was going to say concerning the op's post, we cant always link everything we see online maybe in the form of pictures or videos as racism without proper evidence backing up the claim..

I believe every country has their own security measures for which every one entering into such countries must go through such measures before they are allowed access.
And let's not forget the US and Iran war that I do not think has Ended, the US is obviously being very careful to ensure that no body uses the world Cup as an opportunity to enter the country with dangerous weapons that is capable of disrupting the world Cup tournament and creating chaos in the country as a whole, every thing must not always be linked to racism or whatever, like you rightly said, it's very important we get the details of why a thing is done in a particular way is being done that way before jumping into any conclusions.

US is a country waging a war currently and I understand that they've to be strict with security checks, especially with countries they identify as potential threat. I don't think that has to do with racism. I can call it necessary security protocols. What I may not be able to find professional or acceptable is if the US prevents fans from coming into the country to cheer their players, then it would be clear that they're being unnecessary victimizing. If they would accept to host the world cup, then they should accept the fan base it commands.

That is also what I'm seeing here, maybe not just them, but all other countries regardless of what color of your skin will have to go to several screenings and X-ray just to go over the security in the US. I don't want to say that when everything fails, use the card race.

On the topic of racism, things can be misinterpreted. Why? Before, like 20 or 30 years ago, many nasty things were said to the opposing team; that was obvious. Racist comments, much more offensive than what we're seeing now, existed and weren't as subtle. Racism has disappeared from overt forms, but hidden forms remain. This is strange, because the United States has always positioned itself as a vanguard in the fight against racism. Apparently, the United States is very much engaged in formal struggles like this. We should take a cue from Latin American countries like Brazil. They are much more tolerant of people of color there.
