A source privy to the incident but who chose to speak on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the incident said, “Police traced the number of the man to a hotel in Ubiaroko, Delta State.

“They met the man and the kidnapped woman inside a hotel. They called the husband, and he was happy. It was at the station that the police broke the news to him. The wife begged the husband not to tell her children what actually transpired.”

The problem we have in the society today is the type of attention given to this issue of kidnapping which have turn out to become a lucrative business for those who have seen or made it up their minds to channel their ways of making money towards that direction, I always maintain categorically that any thing that involves human live to make money either by kidnapping or organ harvesting, banditry etc without sound or capital punishment is an eye opener to others citizens to toe that path.op as you have said men must be very careful it's necessary to carry out deep study or investigation on any body not just female gender, have any closer friend without details of the individual in this present generation is very risky.

Where are we heading to in this country, the current situation that were battling with which we are praying everyday so that things will be alright, some people on other side are still using it as a way of getting themselves rich. Honestly this woman should be treated a very good lesson of our life, because if they decide to leave her without punishing her a lot of people will still copy her and that is how even the people in the bush will be taken for granted because we will assume that they are pretending also. This is a serious case which should be treated with a very big punishment because this way discourage the people of the community next time if they have this kind of issue, but I pray this should be the end of all this issue.

There's a punishment for someone who fake their own kidnapped and that's was why she was arrested and detained by law enforcement agency. If someone fakes their own kidnapped is fraud, trying to obtain money through false pretence is fraud and it's punishable by law in Nigeria.

The husband shouldn't accept such a woman back to his life because if she can go this extreme to obtain money from him by faking her own kidnapping, that means she can kill him to please her boyfriend because what she did is was to please her boyfriend. However, if the children are still below 15 years, the husband shouldn't tell them what they mum did because they  will be too young to understand the consequences of her action bu instead he should wait until they matured in age before telling them what she did.

In this kind of situation, if i was the man, i would prosecute her, this is because, if the money was sent, trust me, she would have been enjoying her loot, and i don't think she might be remorseful towards the man, so i would allow the law to take it's cause. Look at how vulnerable that husband was placed, imagine the trauma he has gone through, probably running around to see how he can raise to money to rescue he's wife, not knowing the wife was in for another thing. Kudos to the police for doing their job, as they've shown professionalism on these case.

I just hope you are not trying to justify anything here right? The woman is a criminal and the boyfriend are both criminals and wicked people and should be punished handsomely by the security agencies. The wife's offences are much, it does not only stops at the kidnapping case she orchestrated alone but also stems to the fact she cheated on her husband and most probably committing adultery too. How do you even expect the husband to ever trust her again. This just showed how disloyal the woman is to her husband and I really blame this on the insecurity issue in the country and the attention that is giving to it when it happens. Well said, this is not an issue about women but how individuals and the society respond to such cases is where the problem lies. This is not even the first case of someone framing their own kidnap, it has been happening but since this particular one came to social media that is why it became a topic. Of course, if a loved one or a family member is kidnapped it becomes a problem to their family in raising ransom to settle their abductors. What you said that paying ransom is part of the thing that is making kidnapping not to end is true because other notorious criminals are using that method to extort huge amount of money from people. But no one wants to lose a loved one just because they are not able to raise a ransom.
     If people stop paying ransom, kidnapping will reduce and probably stop but some people will have to sacrifice themselves before it will be achieved and nobody would like their lives to be cut short by another. In conclusion, the government has failed us because in a country that every sector of government is working, they will make provision for intelligence units who can track kidnappers and neutralize them but our security structure in this country is very weak which is the reason why it is not possible to achieve such level of security. Security agencies are people who lay down their lives to secure the lives of others but in Nigeria, security agents are even more afraid of being killed than civilians. With the nature of how the country is right now, faking a self kidnap by a marriage woman to go stay in a hotel is the worst thing that woman would have done. Because imagine a woman you married and had kids with, now planning to financially disstabilize you of everything you have ever invested, by faking her kidnapped and demanding for a whooping 50million Naira in this kind hard economy. And these are the types of news that when some young boys come across, it discourages them of even wanting to marry in the future. Simply because they don't know what it's outcome may be. I swear, some women no really deserve our love at all. Them no really worth am because sometimes their did are so unbelievable.
