Man’s Driving Routine Fetches Him a $2M Lottery Win

A guy won $2 Million dollars because of the habit he created while on the road. The article said that the guy made a habit of consistently buying a "two million dollar cash word scratch ticket" while on the drive. The guy even thought that if someone ever won on these scratch tickets, not knowing that he was about to win the jackpot. When he scratched the ticket, he initially thought that there were only nine winning words, which won him $10k, but after checking the ticket later, he realised that the ticket had 10 winning words, which won him the jackpot.

This is such an awesome story, someone who just made a habit of buying lottery tickets while on the road managed to win $2 Million dollars.

I already posted this on the other forum, I just thought to share it here since it is a light hearted story of someone winning a jackpot.

Call it a gambler’s fallacy if you will, but this Michigan man is now $2 million richer because of his inclination for the superstitious. The 27-year-old Mackinac County resident was quite happy to spill the beans on how he managed to turn his road trips into a lifetime lottery payout of a lifetime.

Speaking to the Michigan Lottery officials, he simply stated that he always bought Two Million Dollar Cashword tickets when on the road, whether it was with family or friends.

While the man was never too convinced that a lottery ticket could produce a seven-figure prize, he was determined to keep buying his tickets out of habit and because consistency was something that eventually paid off – and definitely in his case.

However, skepticism lingered.

“Every time I go on a road trip with family or friends, I buy a Two Million Dollar Cashword ticket to scratch on the drive. I was in Sault Ste.

Marie with a friend, and we were getting ready to head home, so I stopped and got my ticket per usual. As I was getting in the car, I said to my friend: ‘Do you think people ever actually win on these,” he asked his friend.

Then, just like that, good fortune struck. The man was scratching his ticket as per usual and was able to count nine winning words, resulting in a $10,000 payout. However, he checked back a few minutes later and couldn’t believe it – there were 10 winning words, not nine, and he had just won $2 million from the game.

“I’ll be honest, I cried like a baby! It still feels like a dream,” he confessed. The winner also has immediate plans for his prize, with some of the money going towards investment, and an immediate spending funding a trip to Hawaii.

His consistency finally paid off to quench his curiosity, since he also never believed anyone could win from it, and with this story the lottery office should expect both drivers and people around them to keep on buying tickets to test their own luck. We can't really tell our fate in life, and our fate with gambling. While majority are discouraging us not to fall deeply on the lottery trap, but in real life, there's no harm with betting lottery as long as you stick with your budget. Well, at least he saw the result of his consistency.  Being consistent is one thing but being lucky is on another level of one thing.  Most people who buy tickets, may it be a scratch ticket, a lottery ticket, or a sweepstakes ticket, in a regular way often end up with minor prizes.  This means, the guy is destined to win that jackpot because if the winnings is not yours, whatever you do, you won't get those winnings like the person I know, he bought lottery tickets regularly for more than a decade but never got a chance to win the jackpot or the major reward.

Yeah that is really so amazing story and I say congratulations to him for the great winning.
But why is no one talking about that his habit of buying the lottery tickets at every time he is on mobil?
Or because it is a poly market game we don't find it possibilities of turning into addiction like we considers in that of gambling when the gambler makes a routine as habit?
Or because of the bravo experience of hitting the jackpot we are out of the excitement forgets the effects of such habitual acts?

Well, not all can be lucky with gambling no matter how consistent they are in lottery betting. But we can't also ignore the fact that anyone can be lucky on it, we just don't have to expect a lot. I don't want to discourage others from betting, but always be responsible in doing it. You don't know the harmful effects that gambling may cause, so its best to just gamble on your extra money, and just gamble to entertain yourself, just like what this lucky winner is doing.

We can make this story a good motivation, but we can also set this story as another trap, that's up to everyone here.

It's a great motivational story I must say because it teaches patience and consistency and effort despite being busy. What I find attractive is his commitment to keep on buying the ticket despite losing so many times and he still held up his belief of being lucky someday which worked out for him.
I don't know if i should classify this as an addiction because I don't think it is since he wasn't gambling over casino games or sports betting as frequently even while on duty.
Every gambler has to discover what they feel would work for them and stick to it consistently as this man did and am sure the lucky story of a jackpot win won't be far from becoming a reality.

The guy in the story knew that the chance of winning was low, and even questioned whether someone actually wins on the scratch lottery, not knowing that he would be winning the jackpot(which was the funny part of the story).

What is good in all of this is that the guy first of of created a habit, which means that buying the lottery ticket daily is now part of his lifestyle regardless wether he wins or not, that alone shown his level of consistency without expecting much from those tickets, but luck hit and he became a millionaire in dollars from his routine lifestyle and with zero expectations that is how is supposed to be no gambler should take up a ticket if they are too confident and high of winning the jackpot because that will definitely drain their motivation and focus.

You know, most times you find like kit believing that these promotions did have an actual cash prize as it claims. It often sounds like a means to milk gamblers some more by having them buy cheap tickets with hopes for a huge win. When I traveled through the USA I always bought these scratch tickets at the gas stations where I stopped to eat or refuel
It's quite common there these scratch tickets, and it's really fun to buy and scratch, hehehe  

However, I never had that luck
I also bought some Powerball tickets when I was there

Here in Brazil, these scratch tickets are only sold in official lottery locations, they cannot be sold in other places

Well, this is really his time. I don't know how far he had been doing this but consistency really works in the end. Not for all, but definitely for those who finally achieved their luck and everything just paid off.

Lucky guy, that is all that we can say from this story and nothing else. We had stories of buying lottery tickets because the cashier didn't have the change, we have stories of getting lottery tickets as tip and such like that and ended up winning millions. But it doesn't mean everyone who does that will win in the same way.

So we just have to be at right place at the right time or in other words, we need to be lucky.

That's a huge sum, especially when converted to my country's currency. Wow, maybe I could buy a large plot of land, a luxury home, a car, and increase my investment assets.
Basically, nothing is impossible in gambling. Sometimes, those who win are actually those who never expect that they will definitely win, or like there are winners exist in such lottery game, like how OP shared that he's not betting and expect him lucky to win, but he's doing out of his habit while having a road trip. That is what you have to build as a habit when you are playing the lottery because consistency gives you a chance to hit the jackpot. I am not that kind of guy, but I believe those who win the lottery are long-term bettors. They allocate an amount to buy tickets regularly, so they deserve that win.

And that $2 million is a huge amount that could possibly change his life for the better. This inspires us, and in our country, the lottery is run by the state with a good purpose. But I do not support it due to the high corruption and I do not trust the integrity of the game anymore.
