Many users among us de see DT1 and DT2 for some people profile, but they don't know how dem take get am even though some of us know say na them de in charge of given positive, negative, and neutral feedback wey go show for people profile by defult, but if you no be DT, member, your feedback no go show publicly by defult.
DT means DefaultTrust; these are members of the forum that have extra work to make sure the forum is safe for its users, they have the power to protect this forum by taking action on scammers who want to scam the forum members and also to regulate spammers by leaving tags on their accounts by default so that other users will know how to relate with them.
How does a user get DT
If Theymos includes a user in his trust list, the user becomes a DT1 member of the forum, while if a DT1 member included a user in their trust list, the user will become a DT2 member of the forum. Both DT1 and DT2 members can give positive, negative, and neutral feedback, and it will show in your profile by default, but every member of the forum can give feedback, but only DT members' feedback will show for people's profiles by default.
Futher expanaton.Even though the DT1 members are being selected by theymos, there are criteria for the selections, which were listed, and I quote.
I will periodically (maybe every month) be reconstructing the default trust list to include everyone who matches these criteria:
- If rank was determined solely using earned merit, then you must be of at least Member rank.
- You must have been online sometime within the last 3 days.
- Your trust list must include at least 10 users, not including ~distrust entries.
- You must not be manually blacklisted from selection. This is done rarely, but it can be done if people are found to be gaming the system, or if they request that they are removed from selection.
- You must have posted sometime within the last 30 days.
- You must have at least 10 people directly trusting you each with an earned merit of at least 10, not including merit you yourself sent. These "votes" are limited.
- You must have at least 2 people directly trusting you with an earned merit of at least 250, not including merit you yourself sent. These "votes" are limited.
- For both the "voters" mentioned in the above two points as well as for overall eligibility, you must not be banned, and you must have received merit from at least 4 different users for posts you made in the last 4 years.
Unlike the previous policy, I will not generally be trying to cultivate a good list; that will be left to the DT1 members themselves. However, I reserve the right to remove you and blacklist you from future selection if you engage in egregious and obvious abuse, or if multiple known alt accounts could be selected.
Currently not that many users are eligible. If hundreds of users would be selected in the future, I plan to instead choose a random subset of about 100 eligible users each time. This DT1 reconstruction may even automatically happen on a schedule in the future, but it doesn't currently.
Furthermore, if you are being detrusted by some DT1 members, maybe by abuse of the trust system, other DT1 members can detrust you, and ask other DT1 members to detrust you as well, and if the number of DT1 members that detrust you is higher than the number of DT1 members that trusted you, you will be removed from DT1. Also, if a DT1 member added a user in their trust list, the user will become a DT2 member, but if another DT1 member detrusted that same user, the user will no longer be a DT2 member.
This thread is subject to further corrections if there are any. I decide to do some research to come up with this so that our newbies and other members that are still having some confusion and questions about this topic will discuss it so that we can all learn and understand the trust system better.
