I usually avoid betting soccer because there are so many draws, but having action on the matches definitely makes the tournament more interesting.

Back in November I hit a 25-leg parlay across the NFL, NBA, college football, and college basketball, so I figured I’d take a shot at the World Cup group stage as well.

I’m still deciding how much to put on the parlays. I have a smaller high-confidence card and a larger long-shot card.

Any thoughts on the picks? Let’s go!

Your picks are okay and there's nothing bad in them, after all there is nothing we can use to predict on the matches about who can win or lose, I will also try to play parley over some selected games, only that I may not exceed a number of five or minimum of three in my own case, I wouldn't want to accumulate the games and then risk the chance of winning.

one thing about World Cup games like this is that the games on the outter look seems to be simple and sure tomolay with the predictions of siding the very stronger teams over the supposing average ones but it's just not in our hands what fortune may decide to bring into the game for one of the average team in the list.
I could remember Qatar 2022 how Saudi Arabia won Argentina who later became the champions of that year's world cup. Nobody believed it before the game that Saudi Arabia were going to be able to win the Argentines but it happened. Similar events may unfold in one of these fixtures in the parlay perhaps.

You're back to taking higher and higher risks, which might be worth it if you manage to secure the winning ticket. For me, I will not take too much parlay tickets because in my opinion it is quite unreasonable because the end will definitely lose, at least I have never felt a 1000x victory.

Thank you.  I'm not an avid sports bettor.  I literally only place wagers a few times a year, so I'll never bet single games or anything like that.  I just did as much research as possible for world cup and selected matches that I'm hoping my team wins and that there are no draws!!

When I won this 25 leg parlay I had a bit more confidence because of my knowledge of American football and basketball and there are no ties!!

I am not very enthusiastic of parlays, not even normal legged ones.
It would be a nightmare for me to try to resist the urge of cashing out in the case I started to accumulate wins.

Though, it is only made for the sake of fund and adrenaline, then there is nothing wrong about it, I guess.
I took a look at your picks and they seem to be reasonable, assuming something unpredictable happens and some of the favorite teams start to underperform out of nowhere.

It would be legendary if you actually managed to be right in all your longest parlay, something like that only happens once in one's life I think, and those odds are a proof of it, if you asked me.

But one thing I also noticed was that all the picks were all on the favorites, and this got me really skeptical about the possibility that if possible for just favorite to keep winning for more than 18 legs of matches, I supposed there should be a moment that the underdog will take over the spotlight with a surprising win like we saw in the 2022 world Cup where Saudi Arabia managed to beat Argentina by 1 goal to nothing...

This is majorly the only reason I played this ticket with small amount of money, one I know I can afford to lose just incase an underdog pulls from behind to cut the ticket 😉

Of course all relatively heavy favorites. Basically your only shot at winning.  How do you look at 72 group play games and pick an upset to include in a 10+ leg parlay? Maybe an upset as a single bet...

Again. Just like what I said about Saudi Arabia and Argentina before this Qatar and Switzerland game was started. The World Cup is one most difficult tournament to predict the games being played because every team wants to prove their mark for the world to see. Parlays hardly work here but may some single bets shots could be useful, don't you think so?

Switzerland team was just overhyped. If they couldn't destroy a weaker Qatar team, how do they expect to fare and compete when they get to tougher opponents? I watched the game and I wasn't impressed because I expected more from them and they dropped valuable points. Sorry about both parlays OP. At the end of the day, it's all a gamble.

Do you plan to rebet the parlay even now that the first leg has lost? I might.

I'm planning the same thing as you OP, but I haven't started my big parlay bet yet, at least until I see all the countries play first, to see how their strengths are especially in countries I don't know too well, and or even though I know enough, I haven't followed it much in the last few years, of course after that I will start my big parlay bet, just like I do in club competitions. Hopefully there won't be any obstacles that derail my plans.
