Firstly I would like to walk you guys through what I call the 2 types of investment i have in mind
1. Secure investment( these are low risk investment usually a long term investment like bitcoin, huge stocks, real estate)
2. Risky investment (these type of investment are considered risky and it's duration might be long term or short term eg altcoins, new stocks...)
Now the question is why did i bring this up?
Occasionally we've been seeing a lot of person talking about avoiding risky investment just because they want to play safe, we hear things like "do not diversify focus all your energy on bitcoin" this advice might sound logically good but it's  not a good financial advice to play it safe when you have a goal of becoming wealthy. Such advice is only good when you have already accepted the limit to how far you want to go financially.
I'm not saying people shouldn't invest in bitcoin, in fact the whole idea of this topic is to expose us to a much better financial approach with bitcoin or other secure investments and the risky ones.
What i consider the best financial approach when it comes to investment is the use of secure investments as your basic or foundation investment. instead of saving in fiat put some of your savings into any of these secure investment, sure it will take alot of time but it's better than the interest from banks. While the remaining small percentage let's say 30% of your savings should go to risky investment it could be crypto, new stocks, trading.. anyone that you love. The whole idea of using a small fraction for your risky investment is because it may not return back to you and that is good risk management compared to when you use all your savings for approaching a risky investment.
I know the economy has forced some peoole to want to play it safe but the truth is more you try to avoid failure, the more you're avoiding success. And such person can never become wealthy playing it safe.

Low risks investments and you have bitcoin and stocks? Basically bitcoin and stocks aren’t Low-risks investments and they were never, you might call them moderately risky but you still need to invest what you can afford to lose, IMO these aren’t Low-risks investments.

How you avoid Risky Investments is totally dependent on your aspirations for the investments, also diversification is important but you need to give a priority to one or two of the investments.

It’s totally fine if someone wants to play safe and refuse to take high risks and you can’t compare him with someone who has the ability to take high risks because they have different emotional maturity and risk approach and management skills, also their risks tolerance might differ..

30% isn’t a small portion though and I said earlier not everyone can afford to take risky steps and that’s totally fine because everyone has a different path to success and the same thing or advice can’t work for everyone..

Investment is investment provided as they keep to the rule of the particular strategy. For me strategy and commitment is the main reason why people get to be successful in the long run. Intense capital is also very supportive. I don't care about the other terminologies we create in other to make investment complicated. This terms and other rules are for big institutions that has many department.

It’s true that there are several jargons that are introduced in the investment industry that often end up complicating things for people, especially small investors who just got started, and this isn’t meant to be so. If we are talking about a successful investment, then a clear plan, discipline and commitment is more than enough to make one achieve it in the long term. What mostly pushes some investors into making certain mistakes is often because they spend much time debating labels and strategies and end up negotiating the core principles of investing.

If a person wants to be rich, he has to take risks. But this is not the goal of an investor. Because an investor never sees Bitcoin as a business or a way to get rich. An investor has a source of income and from his source of income he finds discretionary income and continues to invest. His main goal is to save a small amount of Bitcoin so that he can get profit in the future.

As you said, he is a complete trader or a business. A person who is completely dependent on crypto and his source of income is dependent on crypto. But an investor is completely different.

But yes, if a person can keep most of his discretionary income in Bitcoin and keep a small amount in Shitcoin. But before taking such a step, he should understand how much risk he is tolerant of. Because almost all the Shitcoins in the market are seen as fraudulent and it is very rare to see the value of these coins increase.

Investment both your supposed "secured investment" and "risky investment" must be done strictly with discretionary income which is the money left after basic needs have been sorted. Putting 30% of the discretionary income into risky investment like you mentioned such as crypto, stocks and others, is not recommended because you are exposing much of your capital into risk. My recommendation is to put maximum of 10% of discretionary income into risky investment. To be specific, 70% can go into secured investment, 10% into risk investment then the balance of 20% as reserved funds to serve as emergency funds which is needed to cover emergency expenses to avoid selling off the investment.

I have stunt the chance of knowing one truth about investment, as long as you are going for days, it will always consist of taking risk and also standing the chance of making profit, so anyone interested in investing should prepare for either of to happen, while our fate lies on them and we have to depend on how or what we invested on, and every investor should have a plan and strategy to make his investment a profitable one over time.

As a person if you want to make good profit, you need to take risks, but it is a different thing from investing. Investors does not see bitcoin as business or a quick way to get rich because they have their own source of income, they only use their  discretionary income to invest in bitcoin little by little with the hope that it will sustain them in the future. People who depend more on crypto to survive or a source of income are trader or business owners. So, trader and investor ain’t the same at all. I agreed that a person can keep some of his investment money from bitcoin and use some of the percentage to invest on altcoins or any other risky investment. Before doing that you need to first know the risk involve. And if you can’t handle losses, or anything risky investment it can affect you badly. The truth is that many  altcoins in the market does not have any strong fundamentals and some of them are scams. It is only few that grows and generates hug profit.

Can you point to someone who has said or advised someone that "do not diversify focus all your energy on bitcoin" . Can you add a reference here? Of course, add advice from someone who is very knowledgeable about investing and is well known for their investment knowledge.

Quote
"do not diversify focus all your energy on bitcoin"
Diversification of investments is often advised, and it is even suggested that "don't put all your eggs in one basket", this advice has two meanings. One is fund diversification and the other is asset diversification. However, you must know your limits and be aware of how much risk you are able to take according to your situation. The percentage of which asset you invest in depends on your financial capacity and risk tolerance. If your risk tolerance is low, the amount of Bitcoin in the fund (90%/10%) will be relatively high, and if your risk tolerance is high, you can slightly reduce the amount of Bitcoin (80%/20%) and increase the amount of other assets. Diversification of investments or alternative investments is advised, but this advice can be harmful for beginners.

Op actually overestimate things. Stocks and BTC are not low risk investment. It would have been better if he says they are low risk compared to meme coins or other investments. Invest what you can afford to lose is applicable to all forms of investment and if you can not afford to see it crash, then you should stay away from it no matter what it is.

Bitcoin is not a secure investment as Op portrayed it. Newbies may be mislead thinking it's safe and guaranteed. It's better to say things squarely and allow people to choose based on their own risk tolerance instead of making things look more precious than they are. I know BTC is the best saving tech we have at the moment but it's a high volatile asset.

Just for your information, no investment way dry risk free but e get some way the risks dey lesser. And to my advice why I will advice people not to diversify on the digital assets na specifically for those newbie investors way never know how to identify potential coins but bitcoin dey reliable.
Diversification dey suitable for people way don understand how to navigate crypto market with better experiences acquired. No be say e dey really bad to invest in the alt coins.

You’ve said it all, I don’t consider putting money into shitcoins or Altcoins as investments, it’s just a gamble and maybe some win in it and it becomes addictive because of the small amount put in and the big profits gained. This is why they keep buying more and hoping for the same result even when they’re losing.

Trading is also another high risk way of investing our funds.. gambling with suit.
Just buy and hold bitcoin or invest in any other profitable business deal within your locality… these are what I consider to be investments.

While the remaining small percentage let's say 30% of your savings should go to risky investment it could be crypto, new stocks, trading.. anyone that you love. 30% is too much in my honest opinion, I prefer 10% of my savings going into such risky investments. I agree to taking risks, of course what is life without risks? If we could bring out a percentage of our income on a steady to gamble, then we should be used to taking risks. TBH, no one gets very rich by playing it safe all the time, but we should be sure to take calculated risks. Sometimes you need exposure to some fresh convincing investment vehicles that has the possibility of a high yield in the near future(pls I'm not referring to Ponzi schemes here), I'm relating to identifying early startups that has a very promising niche and become part of the early investors and hold a convincing share in the company and in the future if the company does very well, you become really wealthy and if not, of course it is what it is.

Actually stocks and bitcoin are not low risk investments. Examples of low-risk investments are Government bonds of which had low risk, high stability, but low returns.

Stocks are medium risk investments because it is backed by real company assets, products or revenue, It has a regulated market. accurate reporting and would be periodically audited and it can pay dividends. The risks are that stock prices can fall sharply during crash or recession and there are possibilities that individual stocks can go to zero in the case of company failure.

Bitcoin is a high risk investment and a speculative asset since it is highly volatile and prices are driven heavily by sentiment and speculation. It also has potential for high returns.

I know the economy has forced some peoole to want to play it safe but the truth is more you try to avoid failure, the more you're avoiding success. And such person can never become wealthy playing it safe.
People don't really get extremely rich by playing it safe all the time, most of those that made it big took some nature of risks and got lucky, although I consider 30% to be too much to be allocated to risk taking, I recommend not more than 10%. Risk taking is good, there are always possibilities for high returns if you are lucky enough.

Does anyone still notice the interest from bank? I still notice on microfinance banks like opay.

My point is that no matter how much you might earn as commission from the bank, it's not even a good reason to save money in fiat. You could have some discretionary money just incase of emergency.

Investment doesn't guarantee you returns, but if you gave the mind to take the risk, then there's a chance that you would eventually be rewarded for your courage in profits. Bitcoin investment is not the only one out there but it's the best when it comes to crypto.

No investment is secure, even if you put your money into Bitcoin you are taking a risk just that Bitcoin has been so reliable we now forget that it and other investment still has risk for you to manage by investing what you can forfeit.
Do you know the chances right now for the 30% you want to put into gambled, unwise risk for it to make profit is like 1% chance, that is not a reasonable financial approach.

Your conclusion is very valid and to me as a Nigerian, I know say we sabi play safe which makes us last longer in every game but in the game of wealth yes it’s good to take risk and that risk should depend on the size of your pocket and how much risk tolerance you have. If you have your good portion of money in a very valid investment and then you have some garbage left you can play games with it by putting it where it may not return but if it returns then it returns big which is how successful people play but I prefer to have a guide, like someone who has done it before so it comes smoothly.

You're on point, in as much as folks shouldn't play it safe if they want to become wealthy yet their risk tolerance shouldn't be exceeded because that would only create more problems for them and instead of pursuing their financial goal they begin to solve financial problems that would take a while before a solution is provided and that downtime might have caused them to start being afraid to fail again but the logic is to fail wisely and not exposing yourself full-time to risk where as you should be working with risk tolerance.

In addition I will say that commitment and strategy  truly matters alot, but flexibility too is important. Because markets do not remain little all times, so most times investors needs to adapt when circumstances changes. In the end, even the simplest investment plan or strategy can work well if someone understands it, follows it considering and also manages risk well. In many cases, is discipline not complexity that leads to a better long term results.
