Do gamblers only learn discipline after losing badly?

Many gamblers knows the importance of bankroll management, discipline and knowing when to stop,  but knowledge alone is not enough. When a person win or losses little amount of money it is easy to feel that everything is under control. This kind of overconfidence sometimes makes people to neglect rules that are supposed to protect them. Experience is one of the best teachers as they usually say. Many gamblers today don’t really understand the pain of discipline until they encounter big losses. That is when they understand the importance of risk management and self control. not everyone who always end up  in learning the hard way, most people end up learning from other people’s mistakes. The problem is that human nature often makes  us to believe that bad outcome always happens  to other people and not to us. The thing is, even if a player places a bet and loses, they'll likely never want to repeat the bet just to lose again. In a case where you have a gambling addict who usually or continually engages in gambling especially in a situation where he or she seems to be loosing or have lost much money in betting and wants to recover his money by all means through gambling, I don't think such a gambler would ever understand the importance of discipline in such a situation so it's very hard to say if an individual who engages vigorously in gambling really understands what discipline means .

It is only when a gambler feels that they have lost money that is supposed to be used for something important that is when they will begin to analyse there losses. There are gamblers who are gambling responsibly, spending within the link they can afford to lose, but they still see the need to do some checking and see if they have been profiting in the long run or if it's just them paying for the entertainment which they are enjoying. Some people find it their duty to always be checking such records and analysing them.
