For those who bet on totals, why do you like it?
Do you find it more entertaining, or do you think it is more profitable than predicting the winner?

I use both options. There are games in which I will be convinced that no matter how hard the game is, the team will try to win. The same thing is applicable with betting on both under and over if I believe the team is good at scoring goals but I'm not certain they can win.

We know how difficult it actually is predicting the winner of any game. No matter how much analysis we do, or how much time we spend doing research on which team has the upper hand, you could.still end up losing the game if you aren't lucky. With bets like this, it's much interesting because we dont worry if the game is lost buy one team, we just have to hope we mean the required to win. But that doesn't mean there's not going to be losses, we only add this kind of odds to our advantage and allow us between over a wider range than choosing just odds on a particular team. I've not really been using this in my bets all the time, and as you just mentioned I'll be trying it out more often to see if I'll be lucky..

In most of the weeks, my bet are in totals especially when I bet on soccer and NBA because those are places where total is pronounced. Betting on total has the advantage that you don't have to know who will win the match, you just have to analyze the scoring appetite of the teams and their conceding rate too. There are some teams that easily give these totals like Bayern Munic, PSG, Barcelona, and Manchester City. Focusing on these teams can fetch more money than going for money line which usually give the favorite team very small odd.

It's because sometimes the odds doesn't look good with the match winner. And that's why those bettors who like to still bet on that particular match chooses to go with the totals.

That's the same with the match winner because you'll also guess the average total at the end of the game.

Although you've got more choices compared to team a and b for the actual game than the totals prop.

We have a different experience in gambling because over 2.5 goals and 1.5 usually fail me if I choose it in my bet but the direct winning options has been one of the options I think I am very good at and I do more of it in my picks. In a game involving two teams like the favourite and underdog if the odd given to the favourite team is up to 1.3 odd giving them direct winning won't be bad but odds like 1.2 and below that's when I think of playing over 2.5 goals.

In my case, I don't have a preference for which market I'm going to bet on; it all depends on the data I can obtain and the conclusion I reach after analyzing it. When it's a difficult game to predict the winner, but it appears to have fewer goals, then I'll bet on fewer goals. But if it's a game that appears to have many goals, then I'll bet on many goals. There are cases where, after analyzing the game, I see that I couldn't get clarity in the 1x2 market, or in the over/under goals market, so I look at the Asian handicap market and bet on it when the odds are right.

Same with me here, it depends also for me on how well I know the teams involved in the match. Because without very good knowledge in both teams will not give you a good picture as to how they will perform. So for me, it depends on how I am acquainted with the athletes involved. Because if not, I won't waste my time and resources.

I would also bet on totals just because the odds are better than for other types of bets. It's like the aggregate and the average data. It's usually based on analytics and cannot be significantly influenced by the casino.

I would sometimes do some correlation bets, like do some of my favorite teams + over. It's a double whammy if I am correct lol.

You have a point here as such data may have basis after all. But it is still up to you if you will indeed use it for your betting strategies. If you feel you have very good chance, why not? As a bettor, you will know your chance as well as the risks involved. Just follow your instincts I would say.

You don’t need to care who wins the game anymore. That’s different from betting on the winner as even if your team is leading big, it can still be scary until the final buzzer. We have seen teams blow big leads before, so a 20 point lead does not always feel safe.

I got confused on how big points in the NBA can be. Over 210.5 is an insane odd in soccer-- plus that option is mostly about the number of goals per match, which may be equivalent to what you call "points".
I love to pick the winning side on extension games that can last up to 3 or 4 days. If I'm betting on overs and unders, the number of selection doesn't have to be too much.

I find gambling itself entertaining in a way, but no option is more profitable than the other in betting. The complexity of an option depends on the type of game, the season and the willpower of the players to make it count.

My favorite market choice is home win or away win or better still, I go for underdog, that's best option for me and it also gives me the wins I normally get most weeks, there are times I go win over/under but I can say that the most favourable market for me is home and away, I just had to do my analysis based on which team I feel will win the match and also their home advantage is what I look at.

When I was very active in football betting, I go for moneyline, total, first half win, second half win, handicap and many other ones. What I noticed was that no matter which one you go for, the tendency of losing is still very high.

I remember one Napoli match that I selected that the match will be under 5.5, but I lost it. The best I noticed are over 1.5 and under or over 2.5 but which are also very risky. Since few years ago, I prefer just moneyline.

But other ones that you are seeing, know that people are using them to bet is the reason the betting sites make them available for selection.

A lot of bettors bet on totals, but there are bettors who prefer it more. I personally like betting on totals win, in sport games especially football the team you expect to win will end up losing, but betting on totals will give more chance of winning in football matches.

I actually when a lot when i bet on totals then win, i can pick 6 to 7 football matches and bet all over 1.5, over 2.5 even over 3.5 depending on the teams playing and it usually play for me more than when i bet on win or playing a football team direct win.

The betting choices I make are all about where I feel lucky & confident. The frequency with which I bet on totals is nothing more than betting on picking the winner & handicap, I place total bets if I feel that a particular match will have many & few goals. In a match between small teams, I will usually choose 'under', while in a match between 1 strong team & 1 weak team, I will usually choose 'over'.

Inasmuch as sports betting is concerned, betting on other options other than the regular 1x2 is the best way to win because you can just bet on over goals, under goals, BTTS, numbers of yellow cards and red cards, number of corners and many more. Whether the matches end in a tie or one of the side win the other it won't be your concern. Chosin the match is tricky sometimes because a lot if this can happen like red card, penalty and others which can change the outcome of the match. Even when the favorite team is obvious, the odd is usually too small that it will discourage someone from betting on them straight win.  On the contrary, total can give very nice odds and the chances of it happening is very high if carefully selected.. This is why I often bet on totals and that have also increased my win rate significantly.

I prefer it because I really do not care who the winner is ,but my bet should be ticking smoothly ,even those playing don't care if my bet cut or not , sometime when betting on football I chose over and under , either 1.5, once they score the total I bet ,I don't go back to check who won or not ,since gambling is luck ,it's just to try out different strategy to see the one that works for you ,so if deciding on total is the strategy that feel good for me at the moment, nothing more .I know how many times I tried home to win away at the end away wins with 3 goals , gambling can be frustrating sometimes.its best everyone try out what is best for them .

This is a long long discussion and everytime you read a fact about one you start to think you find a solution to it but in reality you are always in the same spot, in some way what only matter is the odds and nothing more, it doesnt cahnge anything what market it is at the end, but sometimes we start to think that we can have more chances in over/unders instead of 1x2 market and that is not true at all.

betting on totals is quite popular. I can say from personal experience that I prefer to bet on total rather than on winner in Barcelona vs. Real Madrid matches. both teams are quite attacking and it's difficult to predict the winner in head-to-head matches so when betting on over 3 or over 3.5 goals you simply enjoying spectacular football. live betting on totals is also quite interesting especially at the end of the matches. the odds are quite good and you don't have to bet on low odds like 1.05 or 1.1.
