Telegram banned in India till June 22, any alternative for notifier?

I am not sure how many of you noticed this, but just now I noticed that I didn't get any telegram notification for the last few hours and then randomly say a social media post that said telegram is banned in India till June 22 and they have a stupid reason like Neet question paper is leaked on telegram so they are banning the platform to stop it.

Anyway, it's a stupid plan from the government, now rest of the world has to struggle like us.

Likely, they knew that the NEET question papers would again get leaked and would be shared on Telegram. Another leak will actually dent the government's reputation. China, a few days back, showed the world that it can host the world toughfest exam (that decides students' career path) without any glitch or leak. India's aspiration is to become stronger than China, but we are 100 years behind them.

They treat this as state secrets and military is involved in it to avoid any leakages. Guess, we are also moving into same direction.

And guess what the best part is? Telegram’s CEO has also tweeted about this on X.

India’s IT ministry banned Telegram for one week because some users shared leaked exam questions.

This punishes 150M+ ordinary Telegram users in India — not the insiders who leaked the exam materials.

And the ban hasn't stopped anything. The leaks just moved to other apps.

Now India’s education system has become a joke at the international level. It’s like saying, “To prevent car accidents, let’s ban cars.” I still don’t understand why NEET is conducted in offline OMR mode. Why not use computer-based testing (CBT) like JEE and other exams? Computer-based tests carry a lower risk of paper leaks, as the majority of leaks occur during the printing and distribution process.

As said CBT is proposed to avoid these kind of compromised individuals in future but it may be changed in the future but not for this one.

You have solid point they needed to be punished who leaked but they never do this because they are happy to punishing us this give them good relief in a**.

I am not regular user of telegram but many of mine friends are facing troubles because they are having assignments which needs to stay on telegram but no one care about this while as above mentioned few those understand they are doing this without any problem but still big community suffering badly.

What kind of stupidity are they trying to show the world?
Another female student committed suicide due to the paper leak yesterday. She wrote to her parent that she loves them but cannot take the test again, as she might fail. Whom do you think should be blamed? The babus? Or the Parent? I think both should be blamed for her committing suicide.

Hope authorities takes these exams as state secrets and do their best to protect students. Study the process of china, korea and USA and implement it with more or less same setup and punishments.

Coaching centres plays the big role in all the leakages with some greedy babus, need severe punishment for all the parties including buyers.

I read this on Instagram few days earlier but didn't think much of it as I was getting my telegram notifications normally.
Today I opened Telegram on my laptop and noticed that the page is not loading which is when it clicked me that they have indeed restricted Telegram in India.
But the government is really stupid to approve this decision of restricting Telegram for a week as it will do nothing.
Those who wants to leak the paper will just find another way of doing it.

Besides that, Telegram is still accessible using a VPN and so all of this has just become a publicity stunt but got turned out to be a joke at international level.
India indirectly announced to the world that it is incompetent in managing paper leaks.

Someone explained the current system is involved in the preparation and distribution of these question papers. There are too much of people involved and all it takes just one bad person to do that. There is printing process which can most likely be leaked. And the CBT mode of exams have been proposed already when these kind of allegations in the past years but the government chose to keep their mouth shut even when someone is caught.
