Telegram banned in India till June 22, any alternative for notifier?

Banning telegram isn't the solution for this problem but I am not surprised if they even think about the complete ban, stupid but very much possible. Eventually they have to ban every messaging app and develop an app that is completely controlled by Indian government.

Anyway, here is the alternative if that happens - BitList.co - Bitcointalk Notification BOT [SimpleX], just same as telegram but even more privacy focused while being less popular so government might not even consider banning it.

I could still use telegram using a VPN, it just sucks that you have to use another app to start an instant messenger. Using Tor based applications will become more common every time the Indian government issues some idiotic ban on stuff that they dont understand.

The app is back and working for now. But I think in future government is going to push its own messaging apps.

If there is no app left to use then we have to install whatever the app that is available, just same as China but they are far better in their innovation and even the censorship which may never be possible with a democracy like India. But they successfully banned TikTok, which was so popular at that time and it still remaing banned so it is possible though.

Bureaucrats run this country, not politicians. They just hold their post and sign documents, make decisions based on whatever has been fed to them by the bureaucratic infrastructure. A few can be excluded from it, but most of them are busy listening to them.

Got some news from right-wing social media that there is a reshuffle that is going to happen at the central ministry level. Nirmala is going to be moved out of the finance ministry, and most probably, the RBI's former chairman, Shaktikanta Das, will be taking over the finance ministry. He is the one who wanted to ban Bitcoin and crypto in India. I guess something big and disturbing is going to happen in our domain.

I don't think they will illegalize Bitcoin, because they earn a juicy 30% tax from it and the government loves taxes.

Perhaps a more fitting move from them is going to force the taxes, since only a few are paying these taxes right now, given how easy it is to avoid them at the moment. I'd honestly stop trading if I were to pay 30% taxes on the profits because, ffs, who covers when I lose? It's like 30% on profits and no compensation on losses, makes no sense, unless the tax was on overall profit, which it is not.

Not that my opinion matters, but I'd say make the crypto taxes more sensible and people will happily pay them, and everyone benefits from it.

Yes ofcourse, it was for paper leak only but the source of transfer was Telegram which is why the government banned it at first place.
People were sharing leaked paper files on Telegram. Lol, I am not sure why would people do that though.
There are encrypted apps like Signal which is an alternative to controlled messenger apps.

Dude, why is your Hindi not Hindi but Pakistani Urdu? I can accept Indian Urdu, but they still do not use good Urdu. I was also born and brought up in a place filled with a minority religion have never heard of such a high level of Urdu. Think, there is no restriction in posting in other local threads, given poster not trying to impersonate and deliberately pretending to be a local. I also used to post in Pakistan local thread, mostly in Punjabi but they knew I was indian.

Speaking of the highlated part "mukammal" is proper Urdu word. Also, india has 5x more native urdu speaker in comparison to Pakistan.

In my experience, Pakistani urdu has dominantly punjabi tone ( except muhajir) and sometimes it reflects when someone writes urdu in roman script. In our case, devnagri dominated and we write exactly as it sounds. So in Punjabi urdu tone "agar" becomes " ager" and "phir" becomes "pher", both are hindustani words but pronounciation changes depending on which side you were born and in Indian context region (subtle changes when speaking).

It seems they are preparing for a complete ban in the coming months or year.

Slowly, India will become like China. Just as they banned TikTok and PUBG Mobile, I also think they will eventually ban Telegram. However, PUBG Mobile’s developer agreed to the Indian government’s terms and launched an India-specific version of the app. I don’t think the same will happen with Telegram. If Telegram is banned, we’ll probably have to continue using it through VPNs. That might be the only solution.

The Indian government wants everything to be centralized and monitored by them. I wouldn’t be surprised if they monitored my toilet seat and kept track of how many times I take a shit in a day. They want everything to be controlled and monitored by them.

PUBG ki tarah Telegram apna koi alag 'Indian Version' nahi banaye ga kyun ke Pavel Durov kabhi bhi govts ko data nahi dete, isi wajah se unhein France mein arrest bhi kiya gaya tha. Agar ban hua to hamare paas VPN ke ilawa koi rasta nahi bacha. Lekin dekhna ye hai ke VPN par bhi govt kab tak pabandi nahi lagati ۔

Language should not become a barrier for people to know each other, Urdu is spoken in Hyderabad and their Hindi is a bit different from that we listen in North India, but these are endless discussions with no fruit.
