Isn't this just an over-hype. Don't get me wrong, I love Messi. He is one of my fav players of all time. And yes, I consider him the GOAT because of his numerous achievements. But you can't say he is undisputed because of just this one game. Let's see his overall performance in the tournament before we jump into conclusions.

Maybe Algeria is a bad matchup for him, and he completely dominated because the game was in his favor (didn't watch the game BTW). So let's not just use this 1 game to draw our conclusions.

Without doubt and comparison Messi is one of the best players that has grace the football pitch with his magics and marvelous performance but let's not over hype him because Algeria is not actually in a good form now and we shouldn't also use a one game that he has performed well to come to a conclusion that there's no other best player in the tournament, Cristiano Ronaldo will play today and there has been speculation and pressure from the fan base due to the performance of Lionel Messi last night and all eyes will be on him to do better than what Messi showed up last night.

Messi has always proven himself to be the savior of the Argentine team and has always delivered when needed, the hype for Messi should be reduced. I love both players (Messi and Ronaldo) they are exceptional in their different ways and we should always show our respect for them due to the history they have created in football.

Another record has been achieved by him, by scoring those three goals, he's become the first player to score a hat trick in this WC and I just hope they go far in this competition because he as a player can be exceptional but if the team's not behaving well, they could get dropped. There is no doubt that Lionel Messi, is one of the greatest footballers ever, he is arguably the best and I give it to him for being composed about his great achievements on and off the pitch. He can be the GOAT and so far he has proven it in this world cup by showing that the Algerian defence is no match for his skills but then I think that it is still quite early to overrate him in this world cup, how far Argentina, will go with his support would determine whether truly he is the GOAT of the world cup. Maybe by the time we get to the semi finals we would have other players that can match his hat trick or even perform better but no matter what any players would perform in this world cup it will be difficult to match Messi, in overall football performance.

This kind of exaggerated sensation is a very popular narrative, especially among loyal Lionel Messi fans, especially after he performed brilliantly by scoring a hat trick when Argentina managed to beat Algeria and he also set a record as the first player to appear in 6 editions of the World Cup. Messi performance is always good on world cup. He always carrying the team Argentina although he has some good reliable teammates.

Messi is great player am not disputing it because he truly is but what I disagree about your statement is where you said he doesn't have a comparison. However, I don't like comparing players because I believe every player is unique in his/her own way. Messi is special but he is not the greatest player ever in football history,  I would have prefer you have put it this way one of the greatest player. I know you are trying to place Messi above Ronaldo but it doesn't work that way because both players are great,neither is greater than the other they are both equals. However, Honestly Messi performance against Algeria was exceptional but it doesn't make him the greatest player,I love and respect him a lot but I can't accept that he greater than Ronaldo.

Yes, Messi certainly put in a stunning performance against Algeria! 80 minutes on the pitch, 3 goals… It was a true performance by a great actor. The entire crowd applauded him. 🙋
