Why some of us no dey get merit even when we dey try contribute? ‎

Let the truth be told, allot of us newbie find it hard to grow here in the board, we do drop thread, we try our best to do research and bring up what we learn just share our own ideas with others. But at the end of the day it will turn out that people who reply self do get while u the poster gst nothing in return. We learn we ask questions but all effort turns out nothing to be show up for.

‎My observations [/b]
‎1. Visibility : most times thread go don enter next page that most at times our merit sources don’t come across it while most times Dey do but no reward for giving a good job Weldon by a young newbie
‎2. Writing styles: most at times allot do write their thread short but still pass a great information. While some bulky, long episode so which one do we but most here ?
‎3. Timing : most at times if one post when the forum is not busy ur will end up dying before eveb merit source them see am
‎Generally pls I shouldn’t be misunderstood am not saying they should dash me merit . Am just passing out information on how this things aren’t. Being easy for us and it for learning purpose. And pls if you are this kind of person that do hey merits on a steady pls can you share with us why urs is standing out and what are we not doing right ?

The simplest answer is this, newbies are not committed to learning first, they just come into to forum with the mindset of ranking up and earning from the forum. If merit is your main focus in this forum, then don't be surprised you will find it very hard to earn any, but if you want to contribute meaningfully in the forum, then you should first commit to learning how the forum works, learn about Bitcoin and observe the posts of experienced users to see the extent of value they pass across which naturally brings merit. You must not post everywhere, you can stick to a few sections that interests you, learn and contribute there and you'll get merits.

Merit is a reward for meaningful contribution here in the forum and as long as you are contributing meaningfully, merit flows naturally.

Let me give you a very simple advise. If you know you are not an alt, just make sure you know many Nigerians and also try as much as possible to know one or two or more of the merit sources. It can help you to let more people know what you are posting on the local board and earn you more merits.

I understand you clearly OP, this is one of the reasons why they feel like newbies are desperate to rank up instead of learning first before ranking up.

If you take yourself as example, you only have 32 posts and activities since you joined the forum in February 2026, almost four months, this simply implies that you are not active in this forum as it should be because who is seeking for knowledge will be active in the forum to posts and engage with other posts; and that’s what literally earn them merits.

Your last post in the meta board was also about merits, so this will make people think that you are desperate to get this merits which is fine, but it should come after being active in the forum and after posting quality posts.
If you check well, I am sure the merit sources are aware of all threads that are posted in this boards, and the once worthy of merits according their perspectives are merited. So let’s be patient.

My advise to you op is that you can't make progress here in the forum if your main focus is basically on how to get quick merits. As for where to earn merit, it must not be here on the local board, you can earn merit in other board.
Most times, some thread or discussions don't get many replies but they get a whole lot of merits. Visibility matters but quality and contribution matters most.

The bold part of your comment seems to talk like you only merit those who you know either here in the forum or outside the forum. Isn't it?

I really respect your advice @Charles Tim. It true that networking here helps to get visibility , this because thread do sink fast. But I think we should just focus
on consistency and quality posts it not easy though but that we need now.

If we there be true value in ur post which will turn to be of help to any users. This will attract Merit to come , though it not easy to get. Most users will feel ur post and maybe they won’t be  s merit to give out,  don’t really know but the goal is to consistent in adding value.
