Like the subject says. It’s a question, have you ever placed a bet and noticed that your heartbeat has drastically increased, like you can literally hear your heartbeat from inside your chest, hands begin to shake and your countenance completely changed even before the game is decided?
This happens to me whenever I make a bet that’s just too huge, so I wanna know is it normal or is it just me who experiences this.

Haha, I almost felt you were talking about me while reading through this topic. You’re not the only one, I do experience the same thing when I make a high bet, and trust me, I don’t like that feeling, and that’s why try as much as I can to avoid going down that road. Definitely not a good feeling. And I think the reason why people feel that way is because of fear, fear of losing that bet, and it all comes down to betting more than you can afford to lose because the truth is that, that’s the only time such a thing happens.

This do not happen to me when I place bet with huge amount of money, but has happened to me when I want to check the live score or during live bet when checking the score. If the heart is not noticably beating, the breathing will be deeper than usual and which may later result to higher heart rate and increase heartbeats in a way that you can feel and hear it beating. It happened to me very well years ago, but after I started using small amount of money to bet, it is no more happening to me again.

Your heart beat fast because you bet with huge amount and it's normal to feel that way ,it do happen to me whenever I decided to increase my stake so I can win substantial amount, instantly my thoughts and emotions changes ,I began to ask questions,is it worth it or should I split the money into two and bet another again ,or what if it cut ,but sometimes it's good to increase stake to see if it favour you,mind you even if it cut ,I don't panic too much ,it's just emotions and mind that is why your heart skips in that manner nothing serious.

That’s just the feeling of Fear when doing something risky. This is a completely normal feeling which occurs in risky things like gambling or trading. I dont Gamble myself but i can tell you this is normal because whenever i have placed a trade my heartbeat goes crazy. And sometimes because of that fear i make bad decisions so you ahould try to avoid reaching this stage as much as possible.

I think you already know this is the reason why you get that feeling, if you know already that gambling for profits and staking more than you can afford to lose isn’t a good idea, then I’m pretty sure that you’ve noticed that you don’t feel this way except when you’ve made a huge bet or taken a huge risk, so it’s a matter of whether you like feeling that way or not, because if you don’t, then you know how to stop it. And about your question, whether or not others feel that way, of course most people who put themselves in the same position as you would most likely feel the same way.

it happens but not necessarily while i just placed the bet. it mostly happens while the game is going on and it is not going in line with the prediction i have made. if you use an amount that is even big on the extreme, that is where it gets even worse because no matter how we claim that we gamble with the amount we are willing to loose, no one actually likes to loose in his game. the other time it happens is also when the game is going my way. excitement can also cause my heart to skip a bit.

Yes, the most common places it happens is in trading and gambling, and now maybe in prediction markets. These three can be classified under the same risky fields. You are very correct, but you included that it is very normal for it to happen. It is not normal at all for it to happen. It is happening because of the huge amount of money that he is using to bet. He should reduce the amount of money that he is using to bet for him not to have such heartbeats. Although,bi think this is no-brainer, the OP knows this.

I've been gambling for quite a few years and yes I do have the same feeling when I have a lot on the table and really need to win.
The worst is trying to all in 1 time on crash, then rinsed entire balance in 1 round and crashed at 1.0x....the WORST

Hahaha I feel your pain. Well that’s why you shouldn’t take a risk if you can’t afford to lose it, you’ll only be putting yourself in a very tough situation, I mean literally stealing your peace of mind with your own hands. Gambling can do a lot to you as a person, depending on how you approach it. If you approach it the right way, it can in fact make you feel relaxed and give you peace of mind, to an extent though, but if the wrong way, then it’ll be the opposite, it’s just as simple as that.

Yea, I have experienced it whenever I bet with huge amount of money. Sometimes, I don't feel like checking the scores because my instincts will be telling me that I have lost the bet.

I don't like that kind of feelings anymore so, I have stopped betting with any amount that will put me under pressure. After all, what are we gambling for when if we make profit, we might not still be satisfied with it and in the process of looking for more lose it all.

I think it's quite normal for gamblers to feel this way when they bet outside their usual habits. It's possible because you're used to betting small, and then at some point you place a fairly large bet, maybe 10 times or more than what you usually do, feeling more tense is common. I've experienced it too, but only to the point of being more nervous, especially when watching the match live.

Of course I have felt that kind of feeling, maybe some of the gamblers here have also experienced the same thing, I consider situations like that to be normal and situations like that are a psychological response and are often experienced as well as physical.

Actually what you mentioned is the human's body response to stress not just in gambling it happened in many other activities as well but in gambling no doubt money is at stake so that's why our brain releases adrenaline which causes  faster heartbeat and shaky hands even sweating  and increased alertness. Of course it happens when you bet huge because you fear to lose the money. If you bet moderately, your pulse won't rise that way.

There are reasons for that and huge bet is the first reason. Another reason to adduce to it is when you have had losing streak, the next bet feels as if it will go the old way and so it also gives you panic. Most gambler will fear loss if they have consistently lost previous bet. Those who bet on visual soccer are most culprit of such heart beat fear after they have made their bet because they instantly see result of their bet.

lol, I can't speak for everyone but the heart rate goes up shortly before the bet. I find it very natural because knowing about the loss, no matter the amount, is what happens. But when I realize that I keep losing spin, my heart rate increases. But the funny thing is that in such situations, I refrain from betting for a while. This gives some self control. My advice in this case is that if ever a gambler bets, avoid getting too excited or worried. Then maybe this kind of problem will not be too much.

This topic once again proves that knowing something and actually applying it are two different things. The OP says he knows you should never bet more than you can afford to lose, but obviously he doesn't follow that rule himself. In fact, he seems to enjoy it because he gets an adrenaline rush the moment he places the bet. I think that's the wrong approach, and with that mindset he won't be able to keep betting for long. And yes, when you bet more than you can afford to lose, you're naturally going to worry about the outcome. That's where the increased heart rate comes from.

Sure, it has happened to me... Specially when I feel I over-bet beyond my short term limits for the sake of more money, which is a mistake I recognize at the moment.
I can feel my heart beating faster and I can listen to the heartbeats if there is no much noise on the room where I am in. It is causes my the adrenaline rush and thrill we get because of the uncertainty on what is going to happen to our money.

Though, if you notice something abnormal, like some cold sensation or some copper-like taste in your mouth during your betting sessions, I would say it would be good for you to get an appointment with your doctor a or cardiologist.
There are already too many examples of people who have lost their life because of the effects betting and gaming have other their heart.

As humans, the moment we have a huge sum of money placed as a bet on something we have no control over, we will feel tense up throughout the bet because we know what we will lose(money), if the bet doesn't go as we predicted.

There's this proverb that I know that says, Where your money is, that's where your mind is. Something is wrong when you discover that you are placing a bet and your heartbeat is palpitating, it's either you borrow money to do so and risk your chance of winning or you either divert someone's fund into gambling when you are not supposed to do so, we must know that gambling should be done according to our effort or ability to afford staking, and not invite problems into our lives by taking risk that does not worth it.
