Until now I still experienced this every time I bet on an amount I don't normally bet. There are actually times that I don't no longer make thorough analysis especially when I'm at a bad losing streak. I just though if this bet goes with luck, then I'll surely win, if not, I'll lose such a huge amount. It may seem calm but deep inside I'm already very nervous and heartbeat's racing so fast. I don't feel this way when placing or after placing a bet, the only time i feel such emotions is when i'm watching the game or checking live scores to know how well the fixture is going, if according to my bet or against my pick.

It is not normal to feel that way as soon you place a bet, you might want to take a break or check yourself.

Haha, I almost felt you were talking about me while reading through this topic. You’re not the only one, I do experience the same thing when I make a high bet, and trust me, I don’t like that feeling, and that’s why try as much as I can to avoid going down that road. Definitely not a good feeling. And I think the reason why people feel that way is because of fear, fear of losing that bet, and it all comes down to betting more than you can afford to lose because the truth is that, that’s the only time such a thing happens.

It is funny how gambling makes people to do crazy things, yes I have experienced that before and that was the day I decided to go big. It was a very bad feeling though, just like you said. That feeling alone could make you loss your bet because you're not confident at all,  but i noticed that when I bet low I don't usually experience this heartbeat. This happens to me when I’m on live bet and um watching the game unfold before my eyes. The more the time advances and my favored team isn’t playing into my prediction, of course I begin to have some my breathing increases a little beat, more still when I’m gambling way more than I out to. We're all excited when we start betting and watching the event, but more than that, we also get pressured and emotions are high if we stake an amount that we are not capable of losing. Maybe that's what OP is trying to say when you feel that your heartbeat continuously increased due to fear that once you lose your bet, immediately you will suffer a huge financial loss.

I bet you can't relate to this if you stay responsible on betting on a small amount, or an amount that you can manage to lose, but for those who are kinda stressed and pressured on how to regain such huge losses, this will surely happen to them.

What is the point of betting if it is not to stir our emotions as well as our wallets?
The only concern you need to have is that your heart checkup is up to date and that you do not have any heart problems!

Some people bet so routinely that they do not feel anything anymore, they just automatically place the bets... without emotion, without fun, as if it were just a job or something routine.

I sometimes miss that emotion, because the bets I make are very well thought out and distributed so that the money lasts until the end of the month, so it is rare to make a high bet that really makes me apprehensive. But, I have had moments of euphoria of that kind at another time: when receiving the result of the bet.

Why would your heart skip a beat? That's the first question, when it does that it means that you are doing something that's giving you anxiety which isn't supposed to be so. I usually have similar experiences mostly when I stake with money that is more than the average of what I normally use to gamble...And due to the uncertainty that surrounds gambling, it is very natural for folks to feel very tensed and uncomfortable especially in cases where that individual has more money staked than usual...And in those moments, folks dosen't just stay expectant of the outcome, they also think that about the possibility of losing the money that has been committed, and that thought alone can drive folks into that state of mental disturbance and emotional turbulence... But in cases when the stake is smaller than usual, it is very much easier to to forget  about the loss and move on very quickly..

I believe one sign of gambling addiction is always running into financial problems due to overspending on gambling, and I can’t remember the last time I ran into any kinda financial problems simply because I gambled with money that was meant for something else. Yeah I go hard sometimes and some days I don’t. I also used to think that the reason I got these rush of anxiety when I placed such bets was addiction, but I really do not get most of those gambling addiction results, so I doubt it’s addiction.

This may be felt by all people who do gambling especially with sports betting like me who occasionally do sports betting with an increased level of excitement and tension because there are other things besides wanting to see the team I choose win the match.

The increase in tension will occur because there is something at stake here, namely our money, therefore the heart rate may increase especially if the game is very fierce.

I was going to say no, but on reflection, it has been a long time, it did happen to me once when I was younger. These days, I don’t place any bets that get my heart rate up. It’s also a litmus test: if the money you’re betting affects you to that extent, it’s clearly too much money – money you shouldn’t be betting with.

I think this happens to everyone, not just you. In gambling, people put their money at risk. If it's hard-earned money, then people will naturally feel tense and keep refreshing the match updates frequently.

This happens to me all the time. Sometimes the tension is so high that I can't properly enjoy the match because money is at stake. My mind and body stay anxious throughout the day. And if I happen to lose the bet, my mood gets ruined for the entire day. On the other hand, if I win the bet, it feels like one of the best feelings in the world.

I've had similar feelings before. It's actually not normal. This is too much emotional involvement. Ideally, it should be so that when you win, you feel pleasure and joy, but not violently. And if you lose, you just feel a little annoyance and not for long. In general, it is better to avoid any violent emotions in gambling. Because gambling is not something worth shattering your psyche for.

In addition, excessive joy can deprive you of good luck. You can believe it or not, but is it worth checking? Intense joy is justified if, for example, you narrowly avoided a car accident. So excessive emotionality is not an exceptional feature, it happens.

It's literally obvious that the main reason why you might have felt that way is simply because you are scared of losing the huge amount you just used to bet on the game. Because you categorically stated that this only happens after betting huge sum of money that you only feel that way, which means when you place a bet with smaller amounts, you don't usually feel that way. And to me, I will say that inasmuch as you are ready and willing to afford losing that amount, you can keep using It, but if you know you can't afford losing it, then you stop, because for the fact that gambling remains unpredictable, you will always keep feeling this way.

Personally, I never experience this because I never bet much at once. My bet is usually small so whatever the outcome is it helps me stay calm.

I think what you are describing is a common thing, especially when betting amount is high on the line it also increase the risk, which causes the adrenaline to kicks in then it causes the heartbeat to increase a lot. So I think it is common for many people like you experience such high heartbeats while gaming.

That's pretty normal and every gambler can feel it after placing a big bet. It would be weird if you don't feel anything and stay calm after placing a big bet or going all in while playing a game of poker. Your body and mind reacts to the situation and the rush of adrenaline leads to higher heartbeat rate and the feeling of nervousness and discomfort. I don't know if this is an adrenaline spike or cortisol spoke, I'm not an expect in hormones and endocrines. I've experienced increased heartbeat multiple times, but "hearing" how my heart beats inside my chest seems a bit too much. Maybe a doctor should check your health. Do you have high blood pressure?
