The Round 1 of the 2026 FIFA World cup have ended today and round 2 started with Czech Republic Vs. South Africa, Switzerland Vs. Bosnia and Canada Vs. Qatar starting the 2nd Round of the World cup. The following Countries Canada, Mexico and United State automatically qualified to the 2026 FIFA World cup, reason being that they are the host of the world cup which make them able to qualify automatically.


This list below are the Nations that are participating in the world cup for the first time in history which are; Cape Verde, Curacao, Jordan and Uzbekistan While DR. Congo, Iraq and Haiti have been away from the world cup for some decades.


The following are the names of the countries in each continent that qualified for the tournament.

3. Europe (UEFA) with 16 Teams; Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czechia, England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal,
    Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Türkiye.

4. North and Central American & Caribbean (CONCACAF) with 6 Teams; Canada, Mexico, United State, Curacao, Haiti and Panama.

5. South America (CONMEBOL) with 6 Teams; Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay and Uruguay.

6. Oceania (OFC) with 1 Team; New Zealand


With the result of the Round 1 Groups Standing of all the Groups participating in the World Cup, and with all indications it seems that all the Countries participating in this years World Cup have all came prepared to fight for top spots in the groups. it wasn't easy as it seems that the big nations will take on the average and smaller Nation with ease. some Nations like Cape Verde drew with Spain, Morocco drew with Brazil, DR. The performance of some teams in the World Cup were not surprising while some teams whom I had high expectations of gave me a disappointing outcomes some were just as they were. Going to the second round, I do not expect to see draws from the following team - Spain, Portugal, Canada, Brazil. My prediction for teams that are most likely to be out during the knockout stage are Canada, South Africa, and the others with a very disappointing start.

First round just showed when I expected, the gap between some teams is just too big which makes watching games boring. I mean I watched the Germany team and I didn't feel any excitement, not even when we scored the goals. It just doesn' feel like an accomplishment beating a small nation like this. Even when talking to friends they would just say "stop it, it was just Curacao", and they are right. FIFA yet again managed to make a good product even worse. Oh and the commercial breaks aka hydration breaks, even at 19 degrees and rain, ridiculous.

First round already finish and there are have many interested and unpredictable matches result, total matches played in first round have 24 matches with 15 matches loss/win and 9 matches have draw. The greatest upsets for me in this cup were Spain, Brazil and Portugal not being able to secure a win against weaker opponents. Especially Spain.

France and Germany are placed in much easier groups so naturally they will do much better at first but it's funny seeing Spain not even a league to score a goal against one of the smallest nations ever in the world cup.

Some of my friends were half joking that Trump may have ordered them to fix the match against cabo Verde. It'll be really funny to see Spain perform against bigger teams later in the cup although now it seems unlikely after such a bad start.

Spain was, according to some predictions, the first or second favorite of this world championship, but they have not lived up to those expectations so far.

You're right, it's actually obvious that England is good to go and i believe their is need for them to be included. However, talking about the Spain and Portugal matches, one thing about football games is that immediately you start looking down on teams and fail to treat them accordingly that is when you have automatically given them the chance to down ride you. In my opinion about the game is that no team should be under estimated else you risk missing out the actual thing to do in attaining victory.

This is why football is a game full of surprises because you can't never underestimate a team and the teams you neglect might do wonders and perform greatly when they play, so we shouldn't expect too much from big teams, look at the poor performance from Spain that they had to draw their first game, everyone gave them a straight win and nobody thought they will play draw on their first outing so you can see what football is, Brazil has also not performed as expected. Most times the teams we over hype turns to disappoint us at the long run.

Some of this teams you have mentioned that didn't perform well on their first games might actually play in the final, you never can tell and I strongly believe in Spain and Brazil. Though I'm supporting Brazil to win the world cup this time around. But most definitely Brazil, Spain will surely win their second rounds.
