I saw that you picked one of my post as one of the under merited posts, I also went through the other posts you listed and they are actually very good posts.
Seeing that you took posts from different boards shows that you are applying for general board merit source and to be honest I don’t think the Admin will consider merit source that is not focused in a particular board, right now a lot of people are complaining that some particular boards are lacking merit distribution you would have focused your application on those boards that are actually lacking merit because I’m sure the admin will want some merit to go to those boards.
Any board that is included in this forum and there’s a lot of activity going on there deserves merit distribution.

There's a huge gap in your posting from 2023 to 2025, and though I haven't analyzed your posting style for any changes that might suggest your account changed hands, the gap by itself is enough to raise red flags in the head of a paranoid bitcointalk member like me.
Yes, indeed, barely any posts from 2023-02 until about 2025-04 (more than two years) and it looks a bit odd when he had about 50 posts per month before this gap and a significant rise (around 100 posts per month) after the gap.

It could mean anything and personal life or whatnot in it can always eat up time. I also stumbled over this gap as it really stands out and raises questions. I didn't look if OP was in some signature campaigns before and after the gap...

The other posters in this thread who suggested that OP should've put some focus to emphasize local board activity or apply for a local board merit source, well maybe they didn't look closely to OP's posting history as Pakistan doesn't have a local board (yet).

I haven't decided for myself if I want to support this application yet.

Brilliant move. Your mission and vision of being a merit source is quite impressive, however the reasons that was stated why you intend to be a merit source is one thing that has captured my attention and if really you mean every words of yours then I think you're fit for it. But one thing is that words are easily said than done,  perhaps this has made so many not to be easily trusted.  Therefore, If really you're ready to put down every single words of yours into action then I find you fit and deserve to be given a trial.

[...]

Well you all know my friends crypto is difficult. To be honest it was because I was fed-up of the losses and if remember correctly that bitcoin was ~40k and swinging along with the whole crypto. And When I cam back bitcoin touch ~100k$ for the second time and you know that was enough to bring me back Smiley

[...]
Well I do not want to restrict my self to one board, if I became a merit source I would love to distribute merit across the forum that is the idea.

Yes, indeed, barely any posts from 2023-02 until about 2025-04 (more than two years) and it looks a bit odd when he had about 50 posts per month before this gap and a significant rise (around 100 posts per month) after the gap.

[...]

I explained the reason above mostly I was due to staying away from crypto after some losses. Also some family related personal thing which kept me busy elsewhere do not want to explain those here but again mostly crypto losses and I took a break from everything that had crypto in it Cheesy

It could mean anything and personal life or whatnot in it can always eat up time. I also stumbled over this gap as it really stands out and raises questions. I didn't look if OP was in some signature campaigns before and after the gap...

[...]

Well again same, when you get interest and you enjoy a lot now main motivation was becoming legendary for that I put more effort and was exciting to achieve this rank and to be fair I have scene people here respect the rank. I realize this during my early struggles so yeah I starting posting more to reach this rank faster and I did it Smiley

[...]

I did not have any plans to be a merit source. Since I participated in pizza contest and was excited so naturally have to give merits to all the pizza that I liked, becuase I know how time consuming it is and how much effort it takes to bake a good pizza. So definitely worth a merit. But after going through pizzas and give merits I realized I need more merits.
Yes that is the reason when I applied for merit source. And gathering good posts is part of the application that is when I started digging and finding the good posts.

My Merit Philosophy

  • Rank does not matter. A Junior with a brilliant post gets merit. A Legendary with a filler post does not.
  • Effort counts. If someone has clearly thought through their post, structured it well, and contributed something original — that deserves recognition even if not perfect.
  • Technical depth is a priority. Posts that explain, correct, or illuminate something complex are the ones I value most.
  • I reward honesty. A post that goes against the crowd but is well-argued is far more meritworthy than popular consensus-chasing.

You won my heart with this clarifications of how you genuinely figures merit able posts.
Maybe if there was a voting system in this merit application you'd had counted mine +1.
You know what? I expects newbies who usually question how to earn merits to take this your analysis as a clue to structure and construct posts in other to attract your posts meritorious.
I should believe this categories is what others considers worthy for posts to be merited. Although I understand that individually may have their own views according to their interests.

That's a nice move. I have seen your contributions around the forum and i believe you are a stronger candidate for the merit source role because you are experienced and you have knowledge as well. May be some times the acceptance of application takes time but don't lose hope.

Wishing you the best of luck with your application.

Well Honestly I wasn't expecting to find one of my own post quoted right there as one of the examples set by OP, That was truly a surprise.

However looking at the posts OP picked were actually from all over the forum like from different sections, different topics. That's truly showed he is actually exploring and reading things broadly in real mean and not just sticking to his own corner, and you know what that's kind of awareness is exactly what a merit source should have to be a strong contender.
Full support from my side to the Application as OP genieunly want to surve his skills and time for forum without any return.
Good luck OP wish you all the best.

I fully support CryptoYar Merit Source application. He has been consistently active in the community and understands the value of quality contributions. He is fair, helpful, and has a good eye for useful posts that deserve recognition. Having him as a Merit Source would be beneficial, especially for members who are contributing genuine and informative content. I believe he will distribute merits responsibly and help encourage better-quality discussions in the community.

Whenever he has explained how, he has explained it in very simple words and style, which has made it easy for others to explain it. His predictions regarding Bitcoin have also been quite good and his analysis regarding the market has also been quite good and strong. He also gives a lot of support to the people in the market and hopefully if he becomes a source of merit for our improvement, he will give a lot of support to people on Bitcoin Disscion, Trading Disscion, Speculation and will honestly help people on this form.

I prayer theymos will accept the merit source application.

Main bhi yehi bat hi soch raha hun. Whales iss waqat chotty traders ko out karny ki koshish kar rahi hai.

Or main ye samjta hun ky agar Bitcoin $100k sy above hai to stil safe hai. Or iss waqat market sideways main hai.

Bitcoin thora saa above jata hai but phr sy down ajata hai. Iss sy altcoins ko bohat nuqsan ho raha hai. Lekn jo abhi survive kar jaaen gy altcoins to main believe karta hun wo perform bhi bohat acha kar ky jaaen gy.

Ye saal ky two months bohat important hain. Mery khayal sy ye last two months hi next year ki movement ko bhi zahir kar dain gy. Ky next year main kaya ho sakta hai?

Exactly absolute best time to invest was yesterday but since we can not go back next best time is right now. There is no use worrying about chances you missed. Your point that investing today is better than waiting is spot on. It is about time in market over timing market. Trying to buy at lowest point and sell at highest with something as unpredictable as Bitcoin is really hard and usually does not work out. It is mostly better to just start investing and hold onto it for long time. Many people like strategy DCA. This helps lower risk from big price swings and lets your money grow steadily over time.

@CryptoYar my support is with you in this application. For anyone else wondering, CryptoYar is a responsible member who produces high quality content in out local thread which is worth reading and includes abundant information that is really important, now i know that this is not a criteria for being a merit source but i was just describing how quality of a user he is. Talking about his merit distribution, he frequently gives merit in our local and in other threads/boards and so far i’ve not seen a undeserving posts he has merited (not till now) and i hope i wont see it again. If he becomes a merit source i believe he will be a just and quality merit source.

This is a known try-hard and fake AI shitposter. It is one of the rare cases where 4 different DT members have given neutral ratings, usually it tops at 1-2 ratings. I spotted it first a few months before they did and rewarded it with a negative. Do not reward users like this for their mediocre posts, instead they should be crushed to the ground. The other posts that you have picked are fine/better.

Why Do I Want to Be a Merit Source?

  • I consistently run out of merits before I run out of quality posts to reward. I have an eye for well-researched, original, and thoughtful contributions, and my smerit balance rarely lasts long.
  • A significant portion of my earned merit comes from technical discussions — which reflects that I participate in and value substantive content, not fluff.
  • I want to be a reliable rewarding presence especially for posts that fall through the cracks — solid analysis from newer members, niche technical breakdowns, and honest discussions that rarely attract attention from existing sources.
  • Becoming a source would allow me to send meaningful amounts of merit rather than symbolic single-merit nods. Quality deserves proper recognition.
This is also written with AI, well the whole thread, why?

My Merit Philosophy

  • Rank does not matter. A Junior with a brilliant post gets merit. A Legendary with a filler post does not.

Philosophy is good, except the last point. Shitposters can fake honesty and effort by using AI in effective ways, they do not even have to make very large or very constructive posts to appear honest. Do not reward "genuine effort" because misinformation can also be result of "genuine effort", instead you should reward people that write the correct things -- that only can be properly coupled with technical depth. "Honesty" and "technical depth" do not go together when most of those posts are generic or false.

Thank you for pointing it out. I will be more careful when awarding merits.
I am not against using AI to improve grammar, especially if English is not your first language. But yeah, AI-generated shitposts should not be tolerated.

[...]
This is also written with AI, well the whole thread, why?

It was written by me, but yes, I used AI to check the grammar and improve the English since it was an official application thread, not just a regular post. I did not want poor grammar to affect my application.

Yeah, AI is really helping shitposters get away with doing little or no work. But if someone uses AI to answer a generic question, I won't merit it. Also, if I do not have enough knowledge about the topic myself, I won't merit the post regardless of how good the answer looks.

Just wanted to put this out here since just recently, a merit source got accused of merit abuse.

I came across this info before and actually forgot about it, then I came across this merit source application, and it dawned on me... In Altcoinstalks, one of the admins there saw your application in one of the campaigns I managed and warned me about your "alleged" alternate accounts before. That warning got deleted, though (I mass delete messages 'cause like there's always a lot of them  Cheesy), but I did save the list of names mentioned by the admins on a spreadsheet (somewhere). So, just to be sure, I asked that admin again about it, and he confirmed it.

And true enough, checking those names against your merits sent, there they are.  Roll Eyes
https://bpip.org/smerit.aspx?from=CryptoYar

So, IDK if what they say is true, but from what I know, ATT admins cross-check IP logs? So..care to explain?

The post from arzuo is some long-winded nonsense and the posts from furball808, BitBakerr, and Its-prisigold weren’t a whole lot better. Four of the accounts have neutral feedback for either shitposting, posting false/unhelpful information, and possible account farming.

Saying that you consistently run out of merits is clearly not true if you were hoarding a bunch of them to give away in the pizza contest. If you really wanted to show how good of a quality merit sender you are, you probably should have forgone that thread and sent those merits to more deserving posts.

By the way your recently sent merit page looks, it seems to me there is probably enough merit in circulation that we do not need a new source.

So..care to explain?

I don’t know what rubbish the OP will come up with, but in cases like this, the simplest explanation is the right one, as Ockham would say. The OP wants to be a merit source so that he can rank up fast a lot of his alts or members of a farm.

The good thing is that I don’t think he ever stood much of a chance to begin with. And with this thread, he’s put himself in the spotlight. We’ll have to wait for his explanation, but I reckon he’s going to earn a few tags on his profile.

Wow, so many alts. 🙂

If that's really the criteria, then you also need to update the list and include all the members of the Pakistan community.

I don't know how many times our community has already been tagged over this. We regularly distribute merits among posts within our Pakistan thread. We only have around 10–15 active members, so naturally there's a very high chance that merits will be exchanged among the same people.

That doesn't automatically mean they're alts or that merit abuse is taking place.

[...]

you are more than welcome to ask for same here too let me see also how many account match with CryptoYar.

[...]

I already explained this in my previous post in the same thread, if you cared to read it.

It is actually the other way around. I applied to become a Merit Source because I ran out of sMerits after distributing them during the Pizza Contest. That is what made me think about applying.

As I said before, I care about the quality of the content. The posts I quoted are, in my opinion, worth meriting.

As for investigating users, that is a separate step that can certainly be done. However, I did not do that because it was not the purpose of my Merit Source application.

[...]

I recently became a Legendary member, so I know how satisfying that achievement feels.

If you call this a "farm," then by that logic every group of lower-ranked Bitcointalk members is part of a farm. Of course they want to rank up faster, and I simply want to help deserving members along the way.

My merit distribution strategy is actually different. Someone suggested that I apply as a local Merit Source, but I intentionally applied as a general Merit Source because I do not want to distribute most of my merits within a single local thread. We do not even have a dedicated Pakistan board.

Instead, I want to distribute merits across Bitcointalk other than limiting them to one small community. That way, I can avoid any accusations of merit farming while rewarding good content wherever I find it.

How about, instead of writing long-winded paragraphs, you answer the main question specifically?

[...]

The administrators of another forum, who check IP addresses, state categorically that the accounts on the list are your alts. There are accounts with the same name on this forum too, such as Publictalk792, to whom you have also sent merits on this forum.

It’s too much of a coincidence, and in cases like this, the simplest explanation is usually the right one.

As far as I know, the administrator of this forum is much more respectful of privacy and isn’t going to start checking IP addresses on request.

I noticed the merit source application by the OP yesterday but refrained from posting as I cannot recall engaging with him and was not too concerned about the thread.

Having said that, it is interesting that you would point that out. Whenever I see walls of text where simple replies to simple questions would have sufficed, it seems to be because there could be more going on that we are aware of.

How about, instead of writing long-winded paragraphs, you answer the main question specifically?

Just wanted to put this out here since just recently, a merit source got accused of merit abuse.

The irony is that the admin who appoints people to the position of merit source, as we can see, does not care what the chosen merit source will do. And this is confirmed by the fact that, no matter what we prove, this farmer, who gives merit to his alternative accounts, is still in this position.🙄
