I am just surprised about this. I hope you are too.

Rumour has it that fuel marketers are sourcing Nigerian fuel from Togo because it is cheaper. Dangote has actually denied this, claiming he is not selling fuel cheaper to Togolese people than to us.

The marketers' claims are not fully proven. But this is the same rumour I heard about his cement too. I heard that we pay more for his cement than some other African countries he sells to.

I watched an interview about this. What he said struck me. Everyone is pointing fingers at him, but Dangote is just a businessman. He has to make a profit from the goods he is selling.

The main question is: Why is he allegedly selling at a higher price to us than to other African countries?

From the interview, he said that for every bag of cement he sells, the government takes ₦5,000 per bag. Just imagine. I was perplexed.

What if they are doing the same thing to this fuel we are buying too? Taxing him heavily, but the consumers end up paying the price for it.

Where on earth does a country build a refinery for its people and end up buying the same fuel from another country just because the one being sold within the country is more expensive than the one outside the country, even though we are the ones producing it?

Is this not shameful for a country?

Aaah, Nigeria.

The news says these are allegations, but why would such allegations be flying around if there is no truth to them?

The news might likely be true because there will never be smoke without fire, if such things isn't occuring there will not be news about such, Left to me I believe all the rumors and information heard to be all true.

Nigeria is a very wicked country with greedy Leaders and politicians, most of our leaders elected or imposed are ones that do not have our (followers) interest at hand. All Nigeria politicians and leaders only knows themself and thier families leaving aside the interest of the followers and people that voted them.

If not Nigeria and its wicked leaders, how will a product being sold to other countries be cheaper than yours as a basement for the production of such products, that means that the Nigeria government has hand in that happening, because I don't think that any government will allow a business to be done in a his/her country and will allow the sale of such goods or products produced be sold higher in that particular country than other countries it being transported.

Dangote is a business man and imposing high tax on him, someone has to pay for that, just image paying five thousand Naira(#5,000) for each of the cement produced and sold to Nigerians, if we deduct that ₦5,000 we will be left with ₦7,000 for a bag of cement to be sold which will be very fair for purchasing. No one but this wicked leaders knows how much they collect as tax for the fuel productions and sales in Nigeria by Dangote. Where are those funds going to and what are they being used for?

I could remember Dangote's struggles and fights before he was able to and allowed to build the refinery he is currently using, they might be a M.O.U (Memorandum of Understanding) between him and the Nigeria Government.

Nigeria buys fuel from other countries because the Nigerian leaders put their selfish desires above the interest of the entire country, the leaders believe that keeping the citizens in poverty and hardship will enhance their continued dominance, the government can never develop the country refineries because they are selfish the politicians don’t want the country to be functioning well because of their greed.

Nigeria as a nation have all it takes to compete with other countries of the world, there shouldn’t be any reason why the price of fuel, cement etc should be high in Nigeria because Nigeria is blessed with a lot of natural resources but poor governance has crippled it and making it difficult for the country to grow that is why same crude that we have here in Nigeria is taken out to be refined and resold back to Nigerians at a higher price, sincerely it is actually shameful, most countries that were rated at same level with Nigeria have left Nigeria behind in terms of development due to bad government policies.

Because your country is in a mess, how many refineries are there in Nigeria to refine crude oil, we are only producing crude oil, but we don’t have any refinery that will facilitate the refining of crude oils, so it’s transported to the white man company who have this working refinery, that would produce different refined petroleum products, so you should also understand that your country is just doing business so you will never know how this things are actually working out, they’ve made so much money from this process, which is why they don’t want to arrange the refinery’s that we have in the country.

So government wants to wicked everybody in all dimensions, people are getting high cost of cement because of them and what are they doing with all this money because if 5,000 naira is what they're getting from Dangote for one bag which means they are making almost or 1 billion naira a day from Dangote because they're charging him almost 50%, isn't wicked?, although there could be something they have with Dangote because I have not seen were an independent private business owner will have to share the amount of every product they sell from there company with the government. If there are people who are supposed to enjoy the low prices of Cement and fuel is the country were they based but unfortunately other countries are enjoying the low prices of what we have while we pay heavy amount to buy it, is a disgrace. I don't doubt of the same thing to be the case concerning this fuel price pump.

The government are wicked otherwise why on earth will they be taxing dangote N5000 per bag of cement. If not that dangote spoke of it,we wouldn't have known and we will be think dangote is the causes of it whereas the government are behind it.
We have four refineries in our country, only minor repairs will revamps them to start working in full capacity but the government don't want to do anything about it. Rather they want dangote to be refining our crude  because they are benefiting from it. I wonder if this will ever going to end because it is inflicting hardship on Nigerian. If government repairs those our four refineries and restore them to full capacity, the price of fuel will come down.

I have seen many befitting answers to this question, a country that has no direction end up being a laughing stock, Nigeria is the worst country in the whole world thats my rating, I wants someone to challenge this and give his or her own reasons why he think otherwise, in my place alone, we have countless oil well, infact the cooking gas we have in my place is some else, God has blessed us and I think he is regretting it because we actually act like devil, some examples are also here in this forum but that's talk for another day, when I think about nigeria It gives me much concern because this country have the resources to Carter for it's citizens but few persons decided to feed large on something that is owned by every body, what a country.

Well I no Nigeria my country we go adopt to this one in a matter of no time…. God has blessed us but we act like devil that line hits hard because it’s true for many. Resources dey, but direction no dey. So yeah, it feels like the worst country when you’re living the contradictions daily…..

I just they pray make them no even tag this country the most poorest country in terms of economic growth if possible because it might get to that level where everyone would want to hear a test of that public funds, I just really pray for this country everyday Make God see us through out this phase of the level of corruption for this country…

I don’t see anyone with the vision and dreams of attracting positivity coming out to challenge you on your well defined conclusion about Nigeria today, to me i will say Nigeria is the worst and will continue to be in that position except there is change in government because I don't think there is any negative thing that have not happened in Nigeria today.  In Nigeria today humans are like animals while animals take over the position of humans all because of banditory yet the government is doing nothing about it, among everything happening in Nigeria today,  the one that gets me annoyed most is this aspect where we are blessed with crude yet we still buy petroleum products from countries that buys  crude from us, is that not madness.

Anything rumours that involve Nigerian will never surprise me because those rumours are true and it has been a long time since it’s happened, i will never blame Dangote for doing so because he is a businessman who Nigeria always want to earning money from, some taxes he paid is the reason why he will never try to sell his products to the country that claim to be his country and he can not do a good business to help the citizens, our government are the problem and they are the one that is causing all the suffering we are facing now.

Let even forget about Dangote and talk about Nigeria itself, we claimed to be a country that produces oil and we are the ones that still suffer and buys oil with high price, Nigeria is a country where the leaders are so selfish that the selfishness is the reason why we are facing many crises today and that makes other people to create a group by kidnapping poor citizens to pay a ransom and if they did not pay they will kill them.

However have seen good answers to this question honestly when a lack direction it eventually become a laughing stock and sadly that is how nigeria.
What pains me most is that nigeria is not poor in resources we are richly blessed in my area alone we have countless oil well and the amount of cooking gas we have is massive we have more than enough to take care of our people the real problem is not resources but the people managing them a few individuals keep enriching themselves with wealth that belongs to everyone while the majority keep struggling to survive whenever i think about nigeria it really worries me this country has everything it need to thrive yet we keep going backward it is honestly painful to watch

Dangote has been able to show overtime he's one of the most patriotic billionaires in Nigeria and the reason why I said this is because he has been able to constantly investing his money into the country through his own businesses instead of looking completely outward to do so. As a business person which I am like this, I already know how extremely difficult it is to do business in Nigeria but Dangote would not stall rather keep investing and surviving through the very unreliable system of government we are operating here is making alot of businesses to suffer. Every government agency which has any form of obligations or responsibilities to monitor businesses from the production or manufacturing stage to the finish are always seen at the verge of collecting bribes from these businesses or suffering them with exorbitant charges and fines here and there.

Is this not shameful for a country?

Aaah, Nigeria.

The news says these are allegations, but why would such allegations be flying around if there is no truth to them?

I don't need to doubt about this news because I know it will be true and if they are now purchasing fuel from another country they need not to be blamed because we don't have any working refineries in the country so the marketers has to source for a way out to buy from where they can afford it cheaper than what Dangote refinery sells, I have heard news about Dangote reducing his cost price of goods to foreign countries and sells very high to us here. In kenya Dangote sells a bag of cement for #1,500 naira but in Nigeria it's sold for #10, 500 naira you can imagine the extortion from a fellow Nigerian.

Imagine the amount government takes from Dangote on every bags of cement he sells, why on earth will the government be so wicked to do so?, that's why he has to increase his cost price so he can also make profit. Now I no longer blame him. Nigeria is just a disgrace country. That we have crude oil and can't refine it instead we buy from other countries. It's just too shameful to even speak of.
