Jerwin Ancajas will be back fighting this June 28 in Las Vegas against undefeated prospect from the US, Omar Cande Trinidad. Prior to this match, Ancajas won his last 4 fights. One thing that attract my attention on this fight is that Ancajas is the underdog on this fight, it is understandable because his opponent is unbeaten and a much taller fighter than him.

Omar Trinidad is unfamiliar to me, so I checked him out on YouTube to see what he could bring to the table, and I'm impressed by his resume and record.
This Omar is not really a hard puncher; he is more of a volume puncher. He loves to mix it up, so Jerwin has to be patient to launch a counterattack. I'd like to think that. Omar is made for Jerwin. Jerwin loves to counterattack, and if he is caught with a nasty left, he could end the fight, even if Omar is the favorite. I have Jerwin by decision or even by knockout.

Omar Trinidad obviously has zero blemishes on his record, while Jerwin Ancajas which is the former long-reigning IBF junior bantamweight champion will be hoping to prove a lot as he is looking to move up in weight class .
Ancajas is the underdog here with a good boxing IQ but that won't be enough to stop the heavy punch from a taller and massive opponent.
Am hoping this fight doesn't end in a K.O for Ancajas because it would surely dent his record so far, but am sure his IQ would help him survive the rounds and give him a chance to even land one of those his favorite southpaw moves that makes him a worthy opponent for Trinidad.

Let's hope the underdog here actually delivers because am sure the public will be looking more to the height advantage of Trinidad over Ancajas to place their bets and for me, am just going to go with the underdog here because he has so much to prove and we have seen much smaller fighters actually dominate a boxing fight and even win back to back like Mike Tyson in his days when faced with much bigger and taller opponents.

Yeah, that's also what i'm thinking, even though Trinidad is tall and undefeated but Jerwin Ancajas has fought popular names in his division like Takuma Inoue and Fernando Martinez which means that Ancajas has an edge experience-wise. The thing that i made this thread is that i'm intrigue on why Ancajas was placed as the 3X underdog and for us his compatriots i think this is a good chance to bet for him and triple our money if Ancajas will win this weekend.

Trinidad still remain undefeated. He was even beating his last opponent by TKO. So he has a very big motivation to defend his amazing statistic. Meanwhile, Ancajas is so inconsistent. He was unable to beat Takuma Inoue. So i don't think he have chance to beat Trinidad.
So i think going all in Trinidad is a very wise decision. Trinidad will make Ancajas swollen, and win by KO.

It is only a 4-fight winning streak for Jerwin Ancajas and we have to note, that winning streak is against relatively an unknown opponents or shall we say not on his level. But they choose those fighters to some sort of bring the confidence back to Jerwin Ancajas after his lost to Takuma Inoue and Fernando Martinez. That's one good thing in this fight because we as a fan of Ancajas could win at least 4x of our money since he was placed as the underdog going into this fight. I would say that this is not disrespect, it is just that Omar Trinidad is younger, taller and undefeated so let us just hope though that Ancajas could be the one to put a loss on his record come this weekend.

Seeing Jerwin as the underdog, I actually like it. I don’t really believe in him that much at this stage, but with that kind of odds, it’s hard to pass.

Jerwin has been a champion before, though of course not on the level of Manny or Donaire, but he is still a decent fighter. I would not expect a KO win here since he is not really a KO artist, but winning on the scorecards is possible.

He is 25/38, that is still power, so his opponent has to respect him. He has not lost again since that defeat to Takuma Inoue, and his last win even came by TKO.

I’m not really familiar with his opponent, but the fact that Ancajas is the underdog here pretty much tells how good Omar Cande Trinidad is. Still, just like you, I’m willing to take the risk on our kabayan here, and I will definitely take the moneyline odds.

I would say this is a tough opponent for Ancajas. He is undefeated, younger than him and also has power, so that is a real challenge. But I still believe Ancajas can give him a good fight, though I’m just not sure if he can really upset the favorite here.
