When i try to change my profile pic or avatar it wont let me why??

IIRC one of the hacks that occurred in event history was as a result of a flaw that stemmed from avatars. Hence they were disabled to temporarily solve this issue and theymos has no plans on re-enabling this functionality.

How many months ago was the hack due to the profile pictures?? It's been months and yet no obvious advances..

This is shameful, bitcoin soaks in pride yet we fail in basic necessities like a hood, working forum.
