Just like you've said, to be able to afford the things me and my family need and want. Aside from that, I also want to break the culture where, once people retire or grow old, they depend on their children financially.

I really want to break that mindset in our country, since it's very common here. So children can enjoy their own salary without worrying about supporting us later on. Not everyone plans for that, some simply don't have a choice, but others treat their children as an investment.

It's a sad reality tbh, when parents expect their children to fully support them financially once they get a job. In my country, that mindset is very common and it often prevents young people from focusing on their own future. It can also become a cycle when those children adopting the same mindset when they become parents and passing the culture on to the next generation.

We can break that cycle for ourselves but there's no guarantee that other people will do the same. If the country doesn't improve wages and many people continue to be underpaid I believe that culture will continue to exist for a long time. Personally, I want my children to enjoy their youth and have the freedom to plan their own future. I don't want to burden them with my financial problems when I'm old but that doesn't mean they won't care about their parents, it just means I don't want them to feel financially responsible for me.

I can't talk about other people, but mine is basically provide for family. Because I do not really "need" money for myself, I do not really have that much desire, "things" do not really attract me, buying stuff for myself was never a thing even when I had money. I have a few shirts, few button ups, few jeans, few shoes, and that's about it, I do not really need much. I already have my own home, and I have a car, and a pc.

Technically speaking, my only cost monthly for myself is food at this point, and healthcare of course, nothing else. But  if I am rich, it's endless for me, it can be a million dollars, it can be a billion dollars, as long as I have money, that means I can do more for my wife, and my future child.

Nowadays to get good education, good life need much money and you must be rich how to make better with education and living life. There is two types of wealth, money and loyalty. Today, I would say yes, more money makes you rich person. Today we live in the world of capitalism where money buys everything, including loyalty and love, as long as you are willing to pay. You said this very well. Super rich people work all the time. They have lots of business meetings, discussions and so on. I've seen one guy myself who was very wealthy but he was busy all the time. Basically, he had all the money but no time to enjoy it the way he wanted.

Yes, most rich people are selfish from what we know from the image they create in the public, they will refer to their own personal interests, I'm not sure they will put other people's interests ahead of themselves either.
