Just because you are not making a profit, doesn't mean that trading doesn't work, some people do make a profit. And just like in anything with life, sometimes some things are good for you and you do it very well, and somethings you are not, it's normal.

I can't play the piano, doesn't mean playing the piano is useless or it doesn't work, some people are great at it and play very well, I can't shoot like steph curry, doesn't make basketball any less of a path for some people. It just means, trading isn't for you, which is fine, you can find something else.

Let's just accept the reality that anyone can enter trading, but not all traders end up profitable. It could mean trading isn't for them, or it might be that their trading experiences aren't sufficient enough to make them positively navigate their trades in the market.

But if you have been trading for 3- 5 years, and yet you can't even remember when was time the you made substantial income, I have to say that trading isn't really meant for you. Trading is good, but its not good for everyone.

One year full learning without experience the real thing is a bit too long in my opinion, since there is already a lot of trading knowledge available online that we can learn for free. We can learn some trading setup and indicator before we start trading, after that as you said, it's better to use a small amount of capital even if we have good capital to start but use small money is wise and then we can trade while learning technical analysis (TA) at the same time. What takes time is determining whether a strategy is consistently profitable or not because many traders tend to change their strategy whenever it isn't working.

Regarding trading, there are countless resources available out there. We don't even have to spend any money or time in finding those. Even youtube has a lot of trading guides and journals where anyone can learn. Learning how to trade will require just a few basics. How to make profit is what will take time.

I think learning how to trade or how the trading market works might take less than a month. But to make actual profits, it will take years. The time between understanding trading market and making profit is really crucial. Those who remain firm in this time are the ones who succeed. Technical analysis is too deep. Newbies would mostly learn a few basics of TA thinking they know a lot and jump into trading. When it comes to technical analysis, there are a number of fakeouts due to the rising volume. One should learn how to identify these fakeouts.

Some people say the same thing as you, just because we cannot make a profit from trading does not mean that nobody else can.

Ironically, people who make that claim have never made money from trading themselves, nor have they ever met anyone who has. What about you? Have you ever made a consistent profit from trading, or do you know anyone who has?

Comparing trading to the piano or basketball is a flawed comparison because they are fundamentally different.
