So much underlining for my liking making it unattractive your town crier.

Back to topic. Two things must be the drive for a man into whatsoever he wishes to venture into; burning desire (passion) and knowledge. Mining requires good technical Knowhow which if you must go in shouldn't just be about being able to afford the electricity to use in the mining of bitcoin. Bitcoin has made available various areas through which everyone can participate in it, and if you can't afford going into mining then you just have to fall back to its investment buying for a long accumulation period.

If we all take your advice and don't mine, definetely don't run a node, who will confirm your transactions, who will secure the network and more. Sustaining bitcoin doesn't stop at buying and holding. One must make extra steps to be part of the large bitcoin network.
It's not about not mining at all, it's about don't mine if the power you'll use to mine is from stealing. We're all free to mine but don't do it illegally.
Yes, I support this. But it is like an advice to a criminal. It usually falls on a deaf ear.

They are actually not going to stop using illegal or stolen electricity. If they steal for bitcoin mining, it means they are definitely going to steal for other reasons. So they are just criminals

These numbers could be exaggerated. Not that I am doubting the publication, but after I knew the dark side of publication and journalism, I became very skeptical about every information I get.

About electricity miners denting the reputation of bitcoin, that's not logical. The miners are the criminals who possibly steals power to do some other things aprt from bitcoin mining.
It might be exaggerated but it still all leads to one thing, and that's these miners have been illegally mining. We don't like that media but, the bad doing of the miners needs to be published and punished.

While they might be putting a stain to bitcoin reputation upon knowing it. But I don't think that it's as impactful as it can be when most people will look at their stealing of electricity.
Looking like they met their waterloo. How much profit did they actually generate from the illegal mining< will it be up to a million dollar they are alleged to have stolen?
How often do they find blocks? maybe a discussion for another day.

Honestly, there are different earning opportunities one can get from having knowledge of Bitcoin. You can be a long-term hodler, which is one of the most convenient ways of investing in Bitcoin.

You can also be a trader, a Bitcoin educator sharing Bitcoin educational content with people for a fee and on social media platforms. You can be a mentor, a miner, a blockchain developer, and many more. What is important is that you choose the one you can handle financially, emotionally, and intellectually, and in which you have the necessary expertise.

Governments are already linking Bitcoin to criminals. True Bitcoin users should not give them reasons to believe they are right. I believe in doing things the right way and not out of pressure or greed.
