Non-custodial, provably-fair Dice & Poker on Base. Your funds never touch our servers.

Hi Bitcointalk,

I'm the developer of DiceMoon. I built it because I was tired of "trust me" casinos that hold your deposit in their own wallet and ask you to just believe the rolls are fair. DiceMoon is built the opposite way - so you don't have to trust me:

🔒 Non-custodial - we never hold your money
Your stake is locked in an on-chain escrow smart contract, not on our server. No hot-wallet honeypot, no "withdrawal pending". The winner pulls the pot straight from the contract.
Live contract on Base (read it yourself): 0x0bc585e3c8c47EE507C873eC994b14fC7883793d

🎲 Provably fair - verify every roll yourself
We publish SHA-256(serverSeed) before the game. Each player adds their own clientSeed. The roll = HMAC(serverSeed, clientSeeds:nonce). After the game we reveal the serverSeed, so anyone can recompute the result and confirm we didn't touch it.
Open verifier: dicemoon.com/verify

⛽ Gasless - no ETH required
Deposits use USDC EIP-3009 (signed transfer): you sign, a relayer pays the gas. You only ever need USDC on Base - never ETH.

🪙 USDC on Base, no KYC
Stablecoin stakes, cheap L2 fees, connect-wallet-and-play. No email, no ID, no account.

Games
  • Dice tables - 2 to 6 players, fixed USDC stake, winner takes the pot minus a small fee.
  • Sit & Go poker - single-table tournaments with on-chain prize payouts.

How a game settles
The server computes the provably-fair result and signs it (EIP-712). The escrow contract verifies that signature against a known signer and releases the pot - minus a small, contract-capped fee - to the winner. The server can't pay the wrong winner (the signature is checked on-chain) and can't fake a roll (you verify it afterwards).

Welcome to the community! The official bitcointalk.org forum.
I can see that your site only focused on dice and poker game, yes that is fine but I must say that there are more who do love sports betting than poker, and of course I am not a fan of poker or dice. Again, I would be that nice for you to buy copper membership rank to display your graphic so that people can view your site without them having to connect to the site.
For promotion and marketing please you can contact Upgrade00 or little mouse.
Good luck.

Thanks for the warm welcome, and for the honest feedback - appreciated.

You're right that sports betting has a bigger crowd. For now I'm focused on doing provably-fair dice and poker really well - fully non-custodial, every roll verifiable on-chain - and sports betting is something I'd consider down the line once the core is proven and audited.

Good tip on the copper membership for the image, I'll look into it. In the meantime anyone can read the escrow contract and verify a roll from the links above without connecting a wallet, which is really the whole point.

I'll keep building in the open and answering anything here. Cheers!

It's an interesting concept. I can't say I have seen any similar site before... dice & Sit & Go poker, 2-6 players. No open games yet, but maybe I need to connect the wallet to see them...

I think you need a review campaign, or you can sponsor a few tournaments... players can check how it goes and spread the word. After all, it's hard to attract players without marketing.

Welcome to the forum, and good luck.

Thanks iv4n, really appreciate you taking the time to look.

On the wallet question: you don't need to connect anything to browse - the lobby is open to view. The honest reason it looks empty is that it just launched, so there aren't open tables sitting around yet (the classic chicken-and-egg: players show up when there are games, games appear when there are players). Connecting a wallet is only needed to create or join a table.

Your tournament idea is spot on. Seeding a few sponsored Sit & Go tables so newcomers can watch a real game play out - and verify the fairness on-chain afterwards - is exactly how I want to break that cold-start. Putting it on the near-term list.

Thanks for the welcome, I'll keep building in the open here. Cheers!

UPD:
Quick follow-up - just shipped a small fix off the back of your comment: the lobby now clearly says you don't need to connect a wallet to browse, only to create or join. Thanks for the nudge!

You are welcome to the forum. Nice to have you here. I checked the casino, it is a nice project but the user interface is not too good. You need to add some games in it to make it beautify and also the announcement thread need some touching. You can see how others design theirs and follow up the clue. I really like your innovation of non custodial casino site but make things easy for us to use. I don't think the escrowing of funds for gambling site can work out perfectly. So you have to look for alternative. I suggest, there should be a non custodial wallet addresses in the casino for people to create and use your f only it is possible.

Good to know that you are also making plans to include sports betting but that won't easily take effects except after much more development.
If you do have any interest for marketing then you would have to expand the coverage between gamblers for them to get attracted to your gambling site, and if you watch those casinos that has sportsbooks altogether you would see that there is a huge changes in the market since sports attracts most people.

Welcome to the forum!

I notice that you didn’t accept Bitcoin as currency on your platform which means your thread will be move on altcoins board unless you are planning to add Bitcoin in the future.

It’s surprising to see new casino focusing on dice again while most of the dice casino already evolved on full casino. Good luck on your promotion here.

Welcome to the forum. From what you posted, do you only have dice and poker in your platform or you plan to expand in the future and add other games? Secondly, I don't know why limiting your deposit to USDC because not many people are fans of that coin, a lot of people prefer deposit in BTC.

Finally, you are so confident that your platform is provably fair, any way to verify that different from what you have said or the links you shared which are still linked to your platform and outlets?

Big fan of the original dice sites, seems that few places improved on that concept of PF, but most of them had to close down because of regulatory pressure -- you sure you want to go the route of USDC? I'd keep it straight up Bitcoin, maybe some of the other PoW coins. Far as I know, the dicers don't do more than Bitcoin, Doge, Litecoin.

I know your Dice is different of course, so maybe it's a different crowd but why 2% comm? Why not a built-in house sub-1% edge instead? Or will that piss dicers off haha. Just trying to think of a reason I'd play and it's always been the HE for me.

Thanks everyone for the thoughtful replies - this is exactly the scrutiny I want. Let me hit the big
themes, and especially the "why should I trust it" question, since that's the whole point of the design.

You don't have to trust me - you can verify all of it yourself:
- On-chain: the escrow contract is public on Base. Read it on Basescan and you'll see stakes are locked
in the contract and paid out by it - never held on my server. Nothing about the money is hidden.
- Provably fair, independently: before each game I publish SHA256(serverSeed); each player adds their own
clientSeed; the roll is HMAC-SHA256(serverSeed, clientSeeds:nonce); serverSeed is revealed afterwards.
Standard algorithm - recompute any roll with any HMAC-SHA256 tool (not mine) and check it against the
committed hash and the on-chain payout. My verify page is just convenience; the proof doesn't need it.
- Watch with no wallet: open any live game read-only - no wallet, no sign-in - and watch it play in real
time. See it work before risking a cent.
- Try it for ~1 USDC: buy-ins go low, so you can run the whole flow - deposit, play, claim, verify - with
pocket change before putting real money in.
And here's the whole flow on video, start to finish - create a table, play it out, claim, and the
fairness verification at the end: https://youtu.be/qfP_mDcsTDA
(Apologies for the rough quality - it's a quick, no-frills capture I threw together just to show it
genuinely works and is fair; a proper polished version with audio is on the way and will look much nicer.)

Why USDC, not BTC (@Cointxz @adultcrypto @buwaytress): deliberate. A stablecoin means your stake is worth
the same at the start and end of a hand - no volatility on money you've put in play. On Base the gas is
cents, and deposits are gasless (you sign, a relayer pays the gas - you don't even need ETH). BTC isn't
native to an EVM L2; using it would mean wrapped/bridged BTC, which adds back exactly the custody and trust
I'm removing. Stable + native + verifiable is the whole thesis. (And yes, that's why the thread's on altcoins.)

On regulatory risk (@buwaytress - good point): the PF sites that got shut down were mostly custodial and/or
KYC'd - they held user funds and identities. I hold neither: funds sit in the contract, no KYC, and I
geo-block the regulated markets (Germany, France, etc.). Non-custodial is exactly the move to keep that
exposure low - it's not the coin that matters there, it's who holds the money.

Why 2% instead of a sub-1% house edge (@buwaytress): there's no house here. DiceMoon is player-vs-player -
dice tables and Sit&Go poker - so you're betting against the other players, not me. The 2% is a flat rake on
the pot (poker-style), not a per-bet edge I hold against you: in poker skill can put you ahead, and in dice
it's a fair draw among the players minus the rake. It also covers the gas I pay for you (deposits AND
withdrawals are gasless). Totally fair to weigh against a 1% HE site - it's just a different model, and the
rake can come down as volume grows.

Where it goes next - and where it deliberately doesn't (@Agbe @Cointxz @adultcrypto @Perfectbaby):
I'm not building another slots casino or a sportsbook. There are a thousand of those and they're all
house-vs-player. DiceMoon is the opposite by design - non-custodial, provably fair, and player-vs-player,
so the house is never your opponent. It grows by adding more games where you play other people, not the
house: dice and Sit&Go poker today, and I'd love to add skill/PvP games next - think a chess-for-crypto,
that kind of thing. Yes, a sportsbook would pull a bigger crowd (@Perfectbaby, fair point), but that's a
custodial, heavily-regulated, house-vs-player world that's deliberately not where I'm headed. A different
crowd than a slots site - on purpose.

UI (@Agbe): fair - tell me exactly what felt clunky and I'll fix it. The watch-with-no-wallet flow above
should already make it easier to just see what the site does.

Appreciate you all taking the time. Keep the hard questions coming.

Small development update - and I think it answers the most common question in this thread.

A few of you (thanks iv4n and adultcrypto) basically asked the same thing: when it just launched the lobby looks empty, so how do you actually see how a game plays out - and how the fairness and the payout work - before connecting a wallet or risking anything?

So I built a no-wallet, no-money Demo. It replays a full game start to finish through the real table, and ends on the actual "you won -> claim" screen, so you see the whole flow (including the payout) without touching a wallet:

Poker demo: https://dicemoon.com/poker/demo?utm_source=bitcointalk&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=friends&utm_content=demo
Dice demo: https://dicemoon.com/dice/demo?utm_source=bitcointalk&utm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=friends&utm_content=demo

No sign-up, no wallet, nothing staked - just open it and watch a hand/table play out (you can pause and replay). The poker one even shows every player's cards, so you can follow exactly why the pot went where it did.

To be clear about what it is: the Demo is a fixed, scripted example - it's there to show the mechanics and the claim flow, not a live provably-fair game. The real games are the verifiable ones: escrow on Basescan, recompute any roll yourself, watch a live table read-only with no wallet, or run the whole thing for ~1 USDC.

iv4n - this is basically your "let people watch a game and spread the word" idea made interactive; seeding a few real low-stake tables is still on my list. Still building in the open, still happy to take the hard questions.

Interesting concept of a dice game, I have never seen it before to be honest but since it works as a pvp dice game, it will be very challenging for you to gain enough players who are willing to play your game.
Waiting for other players to play a single game will be the main consideration for us because waiting may take so long time especially if we open a table with more players.
As a start, maybe you can open some tables yourself with various buy-in to check if there are some players who are interested to play.
Good to see that if a game is not settled because no players join, it is reclaimable after an hour so player's money is not stuck too long.

Update: you no longer have to wait for anyone to play - plus replays, and a batch of honesty fixes

@rezoxen made the point I most needed to hear: a PvP-only site means you sit in
an empty lobby waiting for a stranger. That was the single biggest thing wrong
with DiceMoon, and it is now fixed.

1. Free games against bots. One green button creates a table with a zero
buy-in - nothing deposited, nothing on-chain, nothing at stake. Connect a wallet,
sign the free login message (no gas, no transaction), add bot opponents, press
Start. No waiting for anybody.

The bots (Nova, Orbit, Comet, Vega, Atlas, Rigel) are not a separate toy mode:
it is the same engine as a paid table - same 25s turn clock, same reconnect
pauses, same blind escalation, same provably-fair deck. The one hard rule is that
a bot can never sit at a table with money on it - that is enforced in the
domain model (DiceTable.Join / PokerTable.Join throw), not hidden in the UI, so
an NPC cannot occupy a seat a signed payout would pay to. Free games are excluded
from stats and from settlement entirely.

2. Demos, no wallet at all. /dice/demo plays a whole scripted dice game and
/poker/demo a scripted hand, through the real table UI, ending on the actual win
screen so you see where a prize lands. No wallet, no sign-in, nothing staked - the
script ships inside the page.

3. Replays. Every finished dice game can be stepped through at
/dice/<id>/replay - play, pause, 1x / 2x / 4x. Nothing extra is stored for it:
your browser recomputes the entire game from the revealed seeds, so the replay
IS the fairness proof, animated. Poker replays work the same way for tournaments
finished since the hand log shipped on 5 August (older ones say so plainly); we
store the chip actions and the deal layout, never the cards - those are re-dealt
from the revealed per-hand seeds.

4. Watch any live table read-only with no wallet. A watcher is served a
seatless view server-side, so hole cards are not merely hidden in the UI - they
are never sent.

Now the part I think matters more. I spent a day going through everywhere
the site was quietly misleading you:

- Leaving a running tournament used to hang off a browser confirm that said your
buy-in "goes to the remaining players". It never mentioned the seat is gone for
good, and the sentence was not even reliably true. It now states what is
actually certain: your seat folds every hand from here, you should treat the
buy-in as lost, and you cannot sit back down. (For the record, at the contract
level it is not a forfeit: the seat keeps its place in the standings, and if it
still lands in a paid place the escrow credits you.)
- The host's Cancel button had no confirmation at all - and it ends a funded
lobby for everyone who joined. It asks now.
- An expired session (12h, no refresh) changed nothing on screen: wallet still
connected, every action silently failing. There is a bar now, with one-click
  sign-in.
- A dropped connection could leave the page looking connected while receiving
nothing - the realtime library gives up after ~42s and rejoins without its
subscriptions. Both fixed. On a live hand that was your turn clock burning
  against a frozen table.
- Dice tables now have their own Leave, and leaving dice costs nothing: the
outcome was fixed by the committed seeds before the first roll, so your seat is
rolled for you to the end, the game plays out normally for everyone else, and
any prize is still yours to claim.

Update - Aug 15: fullscreen mode, money leaderboards, better phones

Shipped over the last two days, all of it from player feedback:

Fullscreen on every game screen. Real tables, live spectating, demos and replays - one tap hides everything except the game. Works on desktop and phones (yes, including iPhone Safari, which has no fullscreen API - we built a fallback). Esc or one tap to get back.

Leaderboards show the money now. Dice and poker use the same board: won / played / win rate / net profit / biggest win, ranked by net profit. Losers stay on the board too - a leaderboard that hides red numbers is marketing, not stats.

Phones got real attention. History and lobbies render as cards instead of squeezed tables, every row is tappable (tap an open table to join it, tap a leaderboard row to open that player), and a couple of iOS-only glitches are gone.

New landing art, richer table felt, subtle motion, and every amount site-wide reads as money ("1.96", "5.50").

And if you want to actually play before risking anything: create a Free game - a real multiplayer table with zero buy-in, against bots or bots mixed with live players who join. You connect a wallet to take a seat, but no funds are needed, and free games never count toward your stats or game history.

Try it without a wallet or a deposit:
