I think there is more than enough sources. However, there is still insufficient number of good posts. And making them is much harder, than getting new merits out of thin air.

There are still many unsolved technical issues, which could be rewarded with a lot of merits, if anyone would write about them. For example: the current code won't scale to billions of users in a decentralized way: if all people would want to suddenly switch to BTCs, then only whales would be able to do that, and regular users could then only join through centralized custodians. And there are specific technical solutions, which could help to solve that problem, but nobody wrote about them yet, because it is difficult, to understand the cryptography behind some of such solutions, and implement even a working prototype for these things.

I understand that this forum is about bitcoin, but you have to wake to the reality that despite the fact that this is a bitcoin forum, it has accommodated other aspects of life.

It is must not be all about writing codes or updating bitcoin network.
If someone is able to burst the major means new scam casinos operate successfully, they deserve some merits.

If someone is able to suggest how this forum could be run better, they deserve some merits.

If someone is able to make convincing bitcoin predictions with the available data, they deserve some merits.

If someone answers a pain point question, they deserve some merits.

If someone deliveres so well in the collectibles, they deserve some merits.

It doesn't just start and ends in the technical board.

Well I will not stress much but I trust you want to make your own merit source application unique from others. In fact you don't want to spice on the motive. Perhaps you are already a legendary which you have gained much experience in the forum for the years of your activities here.
Perhaps I went through your merits history and of no doubt, you have been receiving and sending out your sMerits to other members posts. So you are qualified indeed but it is up to the forum administrator Theymos to decide. I wish you good luck.

Why do I think this guy is being sarcastic about this application or trying to send a message through the manner of application but maybe people are not rationally seeing it from my perspective.

Perhaps you might end up seeing that his application in the eyes of theymos is way more qualified than some with walls of text in them, not really because of the application manner but his merit distribution psychology which is one of or infact the most crucial part of theymos merit source qualification.
