Even if you would have been considered a merit source by theymos, the poll you created has slimmed down your chances of becoming a merit source because from the poll results, it is clear that many users are against your merit application, hence i will advice you to lock your thread because it lacks the honor to be assigned such a reputable position as a merit source.

The pool is totally against you. However, I don't think you will do that bad as a merit source. I also can not remember if theymos made a new merit source in the recent years.

Because, as far as I know, theymos had appointed quite a few new Merit Sources just like yesterday on June 07, 2025.

Well, even if people didn't announce they had become sources, it wouldn't have taken long for others to notice.
After a long time, theymos made an update to the list of merit sources. Some inactive sources were removed, some those who applied were accepted. I won't name names here, but it'll soon become clear who the new sources are.
An update regarding merit system was needed. I see this as a positive development for the forum. Good luck to all new merit sources.

Trolls don't get merits, so you don't expect to get anything except maybe your thread gets locked and thrown in the trash. Look at my application for the same thing and compare it to yours - do you think you have a chance?

That wasn't the point but I'll still answer.

I actually did not know what were the qualifications when I wrote that (and before you mention my incompetency for this, don't... cause I have already mentioned it in op), so I didn't actively oppose it. Later, someone commented the qualifications, then I realized I qualify for the first point and for the second I edited the post.

It's not supposed to work that way. If merit source allocation is approved with the poll result, it can be manipulated.
I therefore think that the poll is needless;
If an applicant identifies quality posts, contributes to the community, distribute merits fairly and is established, theymos can approve their application even if the poll goes against the person.

Meanwhile, i think Op including a poll to his application is not a good idea.

He is a little liberal in my opinion so I agree with you that he will do well as a merit source despite the poll being against him which is expected. I doubt Theymos is going to grant new merit source requests so soon after the large number of merit sources he added last year. Perhaps these applications are just dropped to be on the queue should any miracle happens that will lead to Theymos approving new sources.

I would say that whether there will be polls or not, whether there will be good posts that the nominees for the merit source would like to reward with merit, in some cases the promise is still not fulfilled.

Therefore, it is not always necessary to believe what you see and hope that in the future those who strive (for power) will become a merit source, they will be honest, and they will fulfill their promises well. Some people will always be tempted to break what they promised because of the opportunities they have received.

Therefore, voting, especially for local sections, will always be exaggerated for those who benefit from it.

But in the case of the OP, I voted "yes" because his application was no different from that "🥸application performance🥸" in which there were many words but little action.

At least the OP had everything fair; he wants🤔 to be a merit source.

My regret theymos removed me from merit source because of inactivity. Otherwise I could have shared some merit for this excellent work.

By any chance, do you want to change your vote? Because I feel your opinion may have been changed? As for 'wanting to be a merit source' — it's more like, 'I would like to be' and I just shoot my shot with honesty, and honestly that looks it has backfired.

Now, I am perfectly fine with this getting rejected, it won't be an iota of bother — I said in some other comment sometime back what's with people getting ruffled-over over merit source applications — it's upto admins to approve it afterall; if it ain't good, it will be disapproved.

I voted yes for your application. Your selections are fairly taken.

The previous merit sources applications I spend time to go through are written in a way like a political campaign manifesto, telling the people what they know the people wants to hear. Some old approved merit sources applications not excluded.

I'm not sure you care much about politics is real life, correct me as I could be wrong, but your application is too real, witty, simplified with honesty of mind. No political statements, which could have been behind the views of what may have led to many rejections of your application of not been serious and worthy of a merit source.
Do not give up it is still the admin that has the final verdict.

According to the last message I received from theymos, he considers how much merit you gave out over the last 6 months. Based on that, it automatically changed how much source merit you receive each month.

Your monthly merit-source allowance is 1.75 times your average monthly merit spending.

If you gave out an average of 40 merit per month, then 40 × 1.75 = 70
Your new monthly source merit allocation becomes 70.

If you gave out an average of 100 merit per month, then 100 × 1.75 = 175
Your new monthly allocation becomes 175.

If your calculated allocation would be less than 10 merit per month, you are no longer a merit source.
