Many people might not accept this because they have practiced this many times and nothing bad happened but I have my reason for saying this.
When you create a new wallet always write the recovery seed offline and make sure you wipe the wallet and try to recover using your recovery seed, this is the only way to verify that the recovery seed you have is working.
Na! This is wrong but if you feel like doing it, that's on you.
The essence of wallet back up or the recovery is to make sure your seed phrase is copy somewhere safe offline and what most wallet does is that they make sure you do it before you use the wallet.
Electrum wallet for example will ask you to create the type of wallet you want, will ask you to create a new seed phrase, or if you have already a seed and then proceed. If you have a seed phrase, the wallet will assume you have a back up but if you create a new seed, the wallet will generate a new seed phrase for you and ask to confirm seed before you can use the wallet. If you do that, you have confirmed to properly backup your seed phrase.
Some hot wallet will allowed you to create wallet and may not ask for backup at that instant but there will be warning on your UI dashboard asking you to back up your seed phrase and asked for seed phrase to be confirmed. Out of that seed words, it can asked for word 2, word 10 and 4 randomly just to make sure you have the seed phrase.
And this should be done before you fund that new wallet. look at the wallet address and see if it's the same.
What I do anytime I create a new wallet, I don't send large funds to new address, I make sure I spend test with a small amount to the wallet before I send large funds to the wallet. This looks safe and you don't have to wipe wallet when you create new wallet seed phrase.
