You missed mining Bitcoin in 2009. What if you had one more chance?

I still think one of the most powerful parts of early Bitcoin was not only the technology.

It was the feeling.

There was a time when mining did not require an industrial warehouse, expensive ASIC machines, or massive capital. You could run software on a normal computer, leave it mining overnight, and actually feel like you were part of something from the very beginning.

A small network.
Low difficulty.
Ordinary computers.
Real Proof-of-Work.
People discovering something block by block.

That feeling is almost gone now.

Bitcoin became huge. Bitcoin won. But Bitcoin mining moved far away from ordinary users.

Many people only discovered Bitcoin after that early era was already over. They missed the moment when the network was still small, the difficulty was low, and ordinary people could participate from the start.

That is why we started Block Zero (BLOZ).

BLOZ is based on modern Bitcoin Core code, adapted with RandomX Proof-of-Work to bring mining back closer to ordinary CPU users.

It follows Bitcoin-style monetary rules:

  • Fixed maximum supply of 21 million BLOZ
  • Scheduled halvings
  • Proof-of-Work issuance
  • No premine
  • No presale
  • No insider allocation

RandomX was chosen because it is CPU-first and helps reduce the advantage of specialized ASIC hardware, making mining more accessible to regular users again.

The idea is not to replace Bitcoin.

The idea is to bring back a small piece of what made early mining feel magical:

  • Open participation
  • Fair launch
  • Normal computers
  • A small community
  • A network starting from zero
  • A hard-capped supply
  • A real mining schedule

For everyone who missed the early Bitcoin mining era and ever wished they could go back, this is our attempt to recreate that feeling.

A second chance at Genesis.

Curious what old-school miners think:

Is there still a place for CPU-first fair-launch projects today?
