"Perfect for laundering" was probably wrong because I just learntt that it wasn't the purpose of Bitcoin creation. Moreover, it's a digital money so anyone can use it including criminals.

Concerning the last post, i was just being cautious cause the scams on Telegram with Bitcoin is getting too much out of hand, but I've now learnt that Bitcoin doesn't choose who uses it or what they use it for. Well I'm not going deep into it yet but I'll take it more seriously now I'm convinced that it's a very good alternative  to fiat. Although there are questions on volatility I'll ask later.

Locking that thread, and creating a new topic, this one, with points toward posts in that thread for discussion, I don't think it's reason why you need to create this thread.

Bitcoin is not for or only for money laundering while people can use Bitcoin blockchain and bitcoin with many purposes. Money laundering is only one of many ways people can use Bitcoin blockchain and bitcoins for. Bitcoin blockchain is against censorship so there is no filter, no censorship against user activities including purpose of using the blockchain and the coin.

Thats right. Many of those users are close minded when you explained to them the true purpose of bitcoin. Well Satoshi indeed made it for peer to peer transaction without intervention from third party but that part is quite impossible when you incorporated the regulatories and rules of each and different government among countries.

Well somehow its true that criminals can use it since Satoshi didnt mentioned parricularly an exemption for using it only individuals which included any sort.

Criminals will always exploit new technologies for their own activities. You should also be aware that telegram is a well known hub for scammers. It's not a new thing, scammers have been using telegram alot, that why you should avoid any said money making channels or group as they try to sell more convincing stories to new investors just to scam them..

 I am no longer bothered by everything people say about bitcoin because i understand that not everyone truly knows how it work i try not to let other peoples opinions or reckless decision affect how I approach my investment especially with all the FUD being spread online.
That why i value forum like this they are a better place to get reliable information and have meaningful discussion about bitcoin random platforms and influencer can easily mislead people especially when they speak confidently about something they barely understand.

The truth about life has been that people will always talk. They will talk and never get tired. Whether or not it they know it properly, they will always talk. So, the knowledge we gather here, of course, as a Bitcoin discussion forum should help us understand the doability and/or usability of Bitcoin. We can also learn how better to operate with it and grow in knowledge. One thing that amazes me is the kind of knowledge I have seen here. There are a lot of knowledge here, and we can as well learn from many of them as they give there insights and share there thoughts about certain things. All we only need to do is ask questions and answers will he rolled out. All those jamborees and unproved talks about Bitcoin and it's workability from some influencers as just geared towards personal gains and growth and not for anything tangible. Weldon!

When people say Bitcoin is used by people to commit crimes and probably put the blame on the network, I assume their knowledge of Bitcoin is very limited. Bitcoin does not ask you the reason you're sending money before confirming your transaction, that's one of its most important features. Bitcoin is a permissionless system and as such, will remain neutral regardless of the intentions of users.

It is the responsibility of users and ultimately the legal authorities to make sure it's not used for illicit activities not the protocol itself.

I personally don't think the main concern shouldn't be that criminals can use Bitcoin to perfect their dealings but that newbies are sensitized enough to know more about Bitcoin security and self-custody. That way, scam rates will be drastically reduced.

You should know that volatility is a very valuable feature for some people. I might be someone who likes Bitcoin volatility because it gives me the opportunity to buy at a low price. So, if you have a long-term investment plan in Bitcoin, you'll feel proud if you can buy Bitcoin at a lower price.
This fear arises when you use your money to buy Bitcoin when you actually need it for short-term needs. When you experience a decline or fluctuation in the value of your portfolio, you feel sad, disappointed, and afraid that the decline will continue. In fact, in your position, others are buying more Bitcoin on the market, one of which is the Bitcoin you sell when you experience panic selling.

You will never get scared about the volatility of Bitcoin if you help yourself to learn lots of things about this coin. If it happens that you are relying on the opinion of other people there's really a big chance that you are subject of manipulation, since you get scared easily on each volatile movements happening on Bitcoin.

* And evidence based reputation feature is used to score users based on how honest they are, how good their products/services are, and how well they deliver on promises (or fulfill agreements). And you will be required to use smart-escrow/contract when dealing with users with scammy reputation or no reputation atall, and probably ignore that for reputable users especially for amount you can afford to lose.

* You also have a trustless feature that enables users to verify other users and their products and services before doing business with then

The world has gone digital and it turns out that scammers can literally be anywhere in the world and dont
know any borders in terms of who they scam. The way some people talk you would believe that the only scams
being perpetrated is around Bitcoin. Which simply isnt the case, scammers are targeting everything which
has some sort of value - simple as that.

People of different caliber and intentions use gold, fiat, bonds or other firm of acceptable exchange to carry out their selfish agenda and that's why many governments institute the need for AML and KYC requirements to at least keep a leash on those that reigned free using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency for illicit purposes.

This being known doesn't stop true believers from using Bitcoin for genuine reasons and the key is to learn risk management practices and ensure absolute safety in the process because one particular saying that is common here is, 'not your keys, not your coins.' so do well to keep them safe while staying disciplined in your approach to using Bitcoin.

Scams on telegram with Bitcoin?, that's literally one of the least places I expect anyone to fall for Bitcoin scam, unless the person uses telegram for more than just receiving messages, and perhaps isn't cautious enough. People tend to commit crimes with so many things, including fiat currencies, but we don't see people refusing to make use of cash. We can't really control how people make use of certain things, especially when it is generally accessible all over the world without restrictions. And as for volatility, well, that's not a complex concept. You just have to know that the price is never fixed, but knowing how to make decisions at different conditions matters a lot.

It's true you realize that the misuse of an asset on a particular platform does not generalized what it exactly stands for in the broader perspective. And I'm happy that you were able to know that for the fact that Bitcoin is been used mostly for Telegram scams, since it is a decentralized digital currency by which the investors identity stays anonymous, it didn't make Bitcoin a scam. Because even the fiat that is been used today, both people uses it for good and bad things In the society. And despite that, nobody ever associated the misuse of fiat a crime.
However, I could also see you state in the title of this thread that what scares you about Bitcoin is it's volatility. But I will also tell you that that's what I love about Bitcoin, because without its volatile nature, Bitcoin would never have grown more strong and valuable today.

It is normal for a free market to be highly volatile, especially Bitcoin trading is not regulated.  Bitcoin market is genuinely driven by supply and demand, market manipulation, and emotional influence or market sentiment, this is also the reason why the price of Bitcoin fluctuates with every news and changes in demand and supply order.

Anyway, there are lots of scammers in Telegerm but if you know the basics of Bitcoin, you will definitely identify the fraud.

However, I could also see you state in the title of this thread that what scares you about Bitcoin is it's volatility. But I will also tell you that that's what I love about Bitcoin, because without its volatile nature, Bitcoin would never have grown more strong and valuable today.

Bitcoin volatility is what makes it very interesting for investors and traders.  It is where the huge profit comes in.

Bitcoin is a currency and an asset, so anything that has the value of money must be targeted by both good and evil people. That Bitcoin is used by criminals doesn't make it a bad coin. Bitcoin is like a vehicle that can be used to transport both criminal and non criminal yo their destination. That a vehicle is used by criminals for robbery doesn't make it bad but the people making used of it are bad. So Bitcoin on its own is very important tool and it is very helpful regardless of how people use it for ulterior motive. Bitcoin will always be good despite how scammers want to paint it black.
