Trezor is currently running a sale for the Amazon Prime Day event. The Trezor Safe 7 is discounted 20% and the Safe 3 & 5 are discounted 30%. The deal is exclusive to Amazon Prime members. For non-members, Amazon usually offers free or discounted trials if you have not been subscribed for a long enough period.

Very good
I bought my Trezor Safe 3 on Amazon.com last year
I’m using it as usual, everything came sealed

Here, it’s costing me $53.10, with just a 10% discount because I don’t have a US Prime subscription (I’m in Brazil)
But when I bought it, there was no sale, I paid the regular price

However, I ran a simulation, and I can buy it on Amazon US and have it shipped here to Brazil, even with all taxes and fees included, it’s still cheaper than buying it here from an authorized dealer

30% was until June 26, as the image says.

I even signed for an Amazon Prime trial, but 10% is the best you can get now (on Amazon). Tongue

Even for those who are Prime they get that 10%. At least in Europe.

Another point that is advantageous, for Europeans and has Prime, you don't pay shipping and the final price is already €59 (including taxes and still without the 10%).

Since this thread is about 30% 10% discounts from Trezor, I'd like to inform  (without creating a separate topic) that this hardware wallet manufacturer is running another promotion: a 10% discount when using the promo code "TAKECONTROL" (timed to coincide with the transfer of cryptoassets from exchangers. I wonder why Trezor thinks now is the time for this. Do they know something we don't? Smiley). How long will this generosity fair last? I wasn't able to find out, as neither X nor Instagram published any information about it (on their website too).

They don't know anything special, such discounts appear periodically and for the purpose of promotion they always invent some reason. Since many alternative hardware wallets have appeared on the market over the years, this is one of the ways to attract new customers.

Even so, in Europe, for those who have Amazon Prime, it's more worthwhile to buy from Amazon.
The sale is official, you don't pay for shipping, and it already includes VAT. Right now, there's also a 10% discount.

In the latter part of their "latest YouTube Shorts video [0:53]", they mentioned this promo will last until July 7th, so there are a few more hours left for those who'd like to purchase a HW through this method.

The Trezor Safe 7 is discounted 20%

Is the Trezor Safe 7 actually Quantum-Resistant? I'm asking because if there's no actual Quantum Computer in existence to verify if indeed that's factual, then he do we actually know it's true?

  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Plus how do we know if it's going to work Post Quantum?

~snip~
Is the Trezor Safe 7 actually Quantum-Resistant?

For me it's a promotional trick and nothing more than that, but for those who don't know the difference between private and public key, between Bitcoin and blockchain and similar basic things, it's a trick that will sell that device well. The countless topics that exist on this forum alone regarding the quantum threat to Bitcoin speak volumes in favor of this.

OK, if it's not Quantum Resistant right now, but would it be the hardware wallet to use when Bitcoin upgrades to a Quantum Resistant algorithm? Because from what people posted in the past, the Trezor One, Safe 3, and Safe 5 can't be used anymore after the Post Quantum upgrades.

There's a thread where you can read more about that HW, but let's say this post is the closest to the truth. I wrote there that this device will probably become obsolete by the time a real quantum threat/solution to it appears.

   👍

You're right. There's definitely no process to verify what Post Quantum hardware would be like or look like. Because of that, could a person make a debate that Trezor is scamming the community with its "Quantum Resistant" hardware wallet?

OR hav their developers learned something that the general community doesn't know?

 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It's not a scam in the literal sense of the word, but the fact is that they used the quantum threat to promote a new hardware wallet. If this threat does not materialize in the next ten years (more/less), the question is how functional this device will be after that time. Apart from the fact that time will run over it, there is no doubt that Trezor will release at least 2 or 3 more devices on the market in the next ten years.

I honestly don't think their development team knows anything more about the development of super quantum computers than what is known to the public.

Perhaps it's more "deceptive/misleading" than an actual scam? WHICH probably should be illegal, no? But why would Trezor do that if they didn't know anything that the public doesn't know?

I believe that, currently, no one actually knows everything in Quantum Computing, including the leading researchers.

The saying goes, "All's fair in love and war," and it seems to me that the same is true in business. Besides, who will file a lawsuit for such a seemingly trivial matter, especially if we take into account that Trezor is a company that operates within the EU, and such lawsuits are not something common here.

Just remember what happened to Ledger in the past 5-6 years and instead of going bankrupt they are still operating today without any problems. The answer to the question of why Trezor did this is very simple - to sell more devices.

The reality is quite simple: there hasn't been much evolution in this type of device.
In terms of safety, a 10-year-old device is just as safe and effective as one that has just been released.

The only thing that can be done is at the design level (larger screen, a different style). Then you can add some extra features (support for multiple currencies, QR code reading). But in the end, it doesn't add much for most people and for the actual use of the device.

So, you simply have to keep inventing extras to keep the business active and visible. Otherwise, they would be almost forgotten because they wouldn't be launching anything new continuously.

No, Trezor is only Quantum ready.
That means they can easily upgrade the code and make it moer secure when Bitcoin finally makes quantum updates.
I am expecting all future Trezor devices to be quantum ready, and their secure element chips will also be improved for better protection.
Older Trezor devices won't be able to make all updates and they could be affected in future.

Is the Trezor Safe 7 actually Quantum-Resistant? I'm asking because if there's no actual Quantum Computer in existence to verify if indeed that's factual, then he do we actually know it's true?
No, Trezor is only Quantum ready.
That means they can easily upgrade the code and make it moer secure when Bitcoin finally makes quantum updates.
I am expecting all future Trezor devices to be quantum ready, and their secure element chips will also be improved for better protection.
Older Trezor devices won't be able to make all updates and they could be affected in future.

I understand the idea of anticipating scenarios and preparing for the future.

But they can't guarantee something today, as it's still unclear what the future will really be like.
What if they discover that the chip being used isn't the best for quantum computing after all? Then they'll probably make the Model 24, which is better.  Roll Eyes

The Trezor Safe 7 is discounted 20%

Is the Trezor Safe 7 actually Quantum-Resistant?

You might want to get the full answer to your question by reading this. In short, Trezor Safe 7 uses PQC for three specific things, namely: 1) firmware update verification, 2) device authentication, and 3) secure boot. This closes off the real attack surface on Trezor Safe 7 itself, rather than on the actual Bitcoin transactions broadcast from this device..
